"Sit still, Temperance," the Trinity admonished, bending over the device affixed to the Locust Ash frame's left arm.  "This is delicate work."

"You've been poking and prodding for over an hour, Cordia," Temperance protested, holding his arm steady while she removed one of several IV lines.  "How much longer could it possibly take to..."

The gold-bedecked Excalibur Prime standing behind him with arms crossed over his Targis Prime chest plate cleared his throat loudly.  Temperance turned to look, and Corida blithely twisted his arm to immobilize it while she disconnected the last IV.

Wincing, the Ash turned back, rubbing his shoulder and grimacing under his helmet.  "That was low, Master Tacis," he accused over his shoulder.  The Excalibur Prime gave no answer, but his Sunika Kubrow turned its nose up at the Ash.

"You're all set, Captain," Cordia proclaimed, handing him a slightly curved holographic display pad that clicked solidly into place over the device she had been working on.  "Best of luck with the volunteers."

"Assuming they come, that is," Temperance said, tapping the display and checking a few read-outs.  "CPID looks perfect.  Thank you, Healer Cordia."  He rose from the bed and crossed the room to the table where his Dragon Nikana and Lex Prime had been laid out for him, along with a set of Eos armor and a Yamako Syndana.

"Well," he said, picking up the chest plate.  "Here goes nothing."

The Relays.

A wonder of engineering and the pride of the Lotus, it was filled with people of all sorts. Syndicate acolytes, freed Grineer slaves, rescued prisoners, and most notably, Tenno.

Amongst them stood an azure, dark Oberon and a crimson and white Mirage, both waiting for this "Temperance" fellow to appear.

A loud and obnoxious sigh. "Sooo... what did you do with Ruthie?"

The Oberon raised an eyebrow. "Weren't you there? We met up with Alain and Kre, they agreed to take care of her. And before you ask, yes, she's perfectly safe."

"Oh right... well, I can't be held responsible for forgetting, Abe."

"It's Abra, Kate."

"Whatever."

*a liset landed inside the hangar, two figures walked through the door. both were mags but one was white on black and the other black on white, both had grams on their backs and seemed to be the only weapon they carried*

Black: why do we have to wear these stupid badge things... *she fiddled with ehrs a bit*

White: c-cause there are c-cpid things....they're supposed to help! besides father sent us here to make sure nothing bad happens....o-or he didnt want us in the way...

Black: im sure him and mother are fighting again, she probably is going to blow something up to get to him to . . .

White:  . . .  yea

An small Osprey-style drone drifted down through the Concourse to hover in front of Abra and Kate, while elsewhere on the Relay, an identical unit caught up with the pair of Mags wearing what amounted to miniature CPIDs.

A small blue cube - a Cephalon - projected from each drone's undercarriage and addressed the Tenno in a pleasant female voice.

"Good day, honored Tenno.  I am Ancilla, tertiary Cephalon of the starship Manifold.  If you would please follow this proxy, it will lead you to the airlock where the Manifold is docked.  Secondary Cephalon Praetor will assist you from there."

To the Mags, she added in a slightly haughty tone, "And you may as well ditch those badges.  You'll be issued proper CPIDs by the Manifold command staff."

The proxies drifted off at an easy walking pace, leading the way towards an airlock where a pair of Excalibur Specters stood guard.  Identical drones would continue roaming the Relay for several hours, offering directions to those volunteers requiring them.

Abra and Kate exchanged a short glance, but followed anyway.

"Did you find a storage area for the Druid?"

Abra sighed again. "Yes, you were there. Agatha's taken care of that ship."

"I hope she's taking care of the Druid, not "taking care"..." Kate grinned for unknown reasons. "Get it?"

"Hardee har har. Very funny." Her companion answered in deadpan, then saw the Specters guarding the airlock. "Permission to enter?"

"We're certainly not connected to a network of bounty hunters and mercenaries, no siree." Kate quipped.

A black and red Nyx stood by one of the relay's viewing windows overlooking the small ice dwarf known as Pluto. Cold and desolate, and quiet. She found an odd calmness in it all. So much had happened. And not much time had been given to meditate. It was just one mission to the next. The Church, their tireless hunt for the Stalker, and now this.

The clan wanted to keep an eye on things and be informed of whatever news the Lotus and those under her control got to know. And so here she stood, the only one she waited for now was her brother who had gone off to a store for some final preparations.

It didn't take long before a black and red Excalibur approached her. He made no attempts at hiding his presence as he closed in on the Nyx in full Stalker equipment and a bag thrown over his shoulder. This equipment and frame style had been the source of many misunderstandings when working with other Tenno outside of his clan in the field. Misunderstandings could be fun, but not when it lead to people screaming and then taking shots at you.

"You're done?" The Nyx asked without turning away from her view of the icy rock outside.

"I am. I hope you are. This little trip might take awhile." The Excalibur answered.

"Yeah I'm done. Let's go." She then picked up her own bag from the relay floor and threw it over her shoulder in a fashion similar to the Excalibur's.

Walking down the hallways towards the docking area, the two of them managed to draw some looks from others. It was easy to tell the difference between those who had more experience dealing with the stalker before as they quickly noticed that none of them were him. The newly awakened who mostly seemed to be in awe of the relay and had so far only heard of the Stalker or only had limited dealings with the psychotic killer looked worried and nervous.

They didn't pay them much mind as they closed in on their destination, the Manifold. The stalker themed Nyx brought out the contact information she had once gathered at the Church of the Ascension and with a blink got the one she was looking for up on her HUD. A smile crept over her face when imagining the face of the one she was about to contact might have when hearing from them again. She opened up a com-channel and through it said. "Hello Temperance. Missed us?"

If the Specters had had eyebrows, they would have raised them.  "Tenno Abra and Tenno Kate," they intoned in unison, their voices cold, formal, and distinctly male.  "I am Praetor, secondary Cephalon of the starship Manifold.  Your prior allegiances are of no concern, so long as you refrain from conflict with other crew.  Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action."

The Specters carried no weapons aside from Gammacors and Provas, but in these close quarters, against Warframes with HUDs to scramble and energy to drain, they represented no small threat.

"Please proceed through the lock and follow the corridor to the public hall.  You are asked not to wander beyond the designated area at this time.  Specters are in place to direct you."

As one, they bowed; an eerily lifeless motion.  "Welcome aboard the Manifold."

Temperance was just reaching for his Dragon Nikana when the familiar voice sounded in his ears.

"Hello Temperance.  Miss us?"

An odd, garbled vocalization rose from his throat as he jammed his fingers against the table.

"j-j-Jinx!" he sputtered.  "You?  You and Arthur?  YOU VOLUNTEERED?"

The Lotus had called for Warriors to assist in what may be a possible suicide mission.

The Lotus's will must be obeyed.

That's what Lancelot thought as he approached the Manifold to dock. It was all he had known since this whole affair started. The Lotus would guide his hand to bring peace and balance to this Galaxy, In the centre of it all, he shall be the one to stand at the pillar of it all.

But that would be for another time and for another future should he survive. The Galahad began to hail the Cruiser. "This is the Galahad, requesting permission to Dock.

Abra bowed in return while Kate waltzed ahead.

"You know, Abe?" The Mirage asked, removing her Harquelin helm and running her hands through her feathery hair. "This all seems highly suspicious."

"They have to be careful." Abra catched up quickly, following her to the public hall. "There's always the chance of-"

"A catastrophe!"

The transmission cut without waiting for the Tenno's reply, but his inbox dinged a moment later, indicating that the Cephalon had sent him a refresher packet of all previously disseminated mission material.

A Valkyr wearing her frame in a multitude of varying shades of Lavender, an Illiac Syandana and chest piece, Daedalus leg plates, and even her bonds were still hanging from her wrist restraints, wandered towards the dock of the Manifold, her Akzani pistols toted along loosely at her hips as her helmet's singular eye gazed around the ship in curiosity. The Valkyr's mood seemed to be in check and relatively excited for the journey to come-

- Even if she disliked the Lotus.

A mission of this calibur caught her interests, however, and appealed to her sense of exploration, the Valkyr's lust for adventure and excitement, and epic tales had led her to volunteer. She would note the Oberon and Mirage by the Specters at the entrance and would do a pace over, silently and curiously watching from behind before speaking up.

"Specters...? Huh... Didn't know a Cephalon could control those..."

She carefully prodded one in the chest, whether out of pure question, or to taunt them,

Who the hell knows.

Regardless, it happened, and a pointed, sharp finger prodded upon one's chest to even just see if it were solid.

Instantly, an arm snapped up to catch the Valkyr's wrist in a grip like tempered steel, and twist.  The other Specter leveled its Gammacor at her back.

"Desist and identify yourself, Tenno," Praetor demanded coldly.

The Nekros was in the Red Veil's room when he received the message from the Lotus, as well as related documents to help in preparation. He frowned at the prospect of something outside the Origin System stirring, it could be a threat to the Tenno, and took on the mission immediately. He finished handing in his collected Marks and almost marched his way towards the airlock leading to the docked Manifold, the tendrils of his Mortos Syandana trailing behind him as he walked. He didn't know exactly what the Lotus' intentions with these outsiders were, but that mattered little to him, his strings were cut, and the Lotus could control him no more. This time though, the mission came before the beliefs.

When he finally happened upon the airlock, he was surprised by what met his eyes: a Valkyr was being restrained by a spectre, with a weapon pointed at her back. His eyes narrowed as he took in what he could of the situation. He could only guess that the other Tenno had done something to provoke the guards, and getting involved in her defense might not help matters. So he simply waited about 10 feet away, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall, waiting for the incident to resolve itself. Even if it further devolved into violence, he was certain the other Tenno could handle herself, and claw her way out. he chuckled softly and smiled to himself. This little trip just might be entertaining after all.

"Guh!"

- Was the only noise that Lusith could find to escape her mouth in the amount of time that the two were on her before she blurted out her name.

"Lusith, I'm Lusith! I-I'm sorry!"

She was being held, tight, and she didn't like the detained feeling. At all.

Her heart rate began to increase, her breathing growing faster and heavier - she was going to panic if she wasn't released soon.

"I wouldn't say Volunteered, rather, we were sent here. Why, aren't you happy to see us? Or would you rather have Neas being here?" Jinx did try not to let her smugness being evident in her voice but to no use. She was enjoying hearing the Ash squirm in surprise. It really as a pity that she couldn't see his face also.

To Arthur it was all too apparent how much his sister enjoyed this. She might have just a bit too much fun on Temperance's expense. But he didn't mind at all as he too was having a blast while listening in on the conversation. He even had to fight back the snicker which threatened to escape his lips.

Arthur stopped however when seeing a Valkyr being dealt with by the entrance of the ship they were supposed to board. Jinx stopped too while awaiting the Ash's next reply and narrowed her eyes. A quick surface scan of the Valkyrs emotional state caused Jinx to give her brother a look which told him to keep some distance from them just in case.

"Understood" replied Lancelot, and he reviewed the mission brief his Cephalon had acquired.

"Operator? Will you come back?" asked the Cephalon with a female voice.

"I don't know Freya but I will try" replied Lancelot as Freya set a cource for the Orcus Relay, not wanting to deviate from standard procedure.

"Please do come back, otherwise Freya will not know what to do" she replied firmly.

"If I don't make it back, store my records then find another Tenno worthy to serve. I will not let my ship go to waste on this relay" ordered Lancelot.

"Understood" replied Freya as the ship docked.

Lancelot got his weapons, The Galantine, The Tiberion and his Akmagnus as well as some supplies he may need including a Codex scanner should he be required to do some scanning, the Immortal Excalibur Tenno with a Pangolin helmet was dressed in the traditional Excalibur colours if not a royal-er red and a silver-ish white walked off his ship and awaited for the drone to arrive for pick-up.

Annabelle walked along the relay, keeping an eye out for a drone, having received the message from the lotus and figured she could be of use, at least in a medicinal way. And as such, she walked along the paths, stopping in each of the rooms to greet the respective syndicate leaders, only Suda, of whom regarded blandly, seemed worse then Neutral to her. Afterwards, she simply waited in the middle of the main room, calmly meditating in mid-air as she awaited the approach of a drone.

Ignoring Lusith's response completely, the Specters turned and bowed to the small crowd that had gathered.  "Tenno Dalimir, Tenno Jinx, and Tenno Arthur," they intoned.  "Welcome aboard the Manifold.  Please proceed through the airlock and follow the corridor to the public hall.  If you loose your way, Specters are in place to assist you."

They stood respectfully by as the group passed, but held up their arms to stop the pair of black and white Mags.

A drone drifted out into the hangar from the general direction of the Concourse, floating down to hover slightly above Lancelot's head level.

Ancilla spoke through the proxy, her voice warm with welcome.  "We are delighted to have a warrior of your skill, Tenno Lancelot.  Please follow this proxy to the appropriate airlock."

Her voice grew distant for a moment.  "And do please step lightly around the Specters.  Secondary Cephalon Praetor seems to be in particularly good form today."

The drone drifted off, leaving Lancelot to follow.

While heading to the respected airlock for the Manifold, Lancelot took the time to review the crew Memo and check over the Daedalus shoulder piece on his right shoulder. it was modified to hold a Karyst dagger in it.

"There are three of us," Aniclla replied airily, turning her proxy in midair without losing a pace.  "You'll meet Secondary Cephalon Praetor at the airlock, and Primary Cephalon Iudicium at orientation.  They're not nearly as sociable as me, though."

While she was speaking, they arrived at the airlock, where the Excalibur Specters were still waiting on answers from the salt-and-pepper Mags.

"I'll see you around, Tenno Lancelot," Ancilla chirped, and drifted off to look for more volunteers.

"Deargodsno," Temperance said in a rush, slipping out the medbay doors while affixing his Lex Prime to his hip.  "I would be dead a thousand times over if Neas were along for the ride."

He paused outside one of the elevators, then shrugged and headed for the free-fall tube.  It was faster, for him, at least.

"By the way, Jinx, Arthur?" he asked hesitantly.  "Would you mind keeping that thing quiet?  Tacis seems keen to keep it under wraps, and I'm certain that between the three of you, you can handle any...unpleasantness."

"Thank you Ancilla" Replied Lancelot as he approached the two Spectres. "At the Airlock?" he thought, he looked around for another drone before approaching one of the Spectres and asking "Could you point me to the direction of Cephalon Praetor please, I'm here to join the Manifold expedition"

He looked at the two mags with confusion before looking back to the Spectre, awaiting for him to do something to direct him to the Cephalon.

"You are addressing him."

The Specter on the left turned to regard Lancelot with its cool, faceless gaze, while the one on the right continued to wait on an answer from the Mags.

"Tenno Lancelot.  A formidable warrior.  Welcome aboard the Manifold.  Please proceed down the corridor to the public halls.  If you lose your way, Specters will assist you."  The Cephalon paused for a moment, then added, "And Tenno Lancelot...please try not to accost any of my Specters.  I have already had a chat with a rather obnoxious Valkyr, and I find that one such confrontation a day is my processors' limit."

They passed the spectres and the Valkyr without any problem and continued down the hallway as instructed. They had to admit one thing, it was a pretty nice ship.

"I think I can assure you that we have no intention of leaking that kind of information when we're going to be locked in a ship for void knows how long with a bunch of people we've never met before." Arthur tried to reassure Temperance in a serious voice. Though the serious tone was very hard to keep up as he was still struggling not to laugh at the panicking Ash.

Jinx herself was grinning behind her helmet as she walked. After everything they had been through, all the hardships and pressure. It really was the simple pleasures in live that made your day. "Can't say others outside of this mission doesn't know about that though. And you have no idea just how lucky you are to be sent away like this now. I know that Neas would love to have a little chat with you."

In truth, Jinx didn't have any warm feelings towards her fellow clan member as that particular Ember was a bit too extreme even in her eyes. And Jinx had done some really shady things in the past. Then again she didn't really care much for Temperance ether so making fun of him didn't bring down any weight upon her conscience.
