(PSN)MrShadowHero
So in the game, we have to go to the menu and press square to pop up whatever we want to type. is it possible you could bind something to a keyboard input as well so that if we press a key on the keyboard (say t for example) it will open up the chat window instead of having to press square and put down the controller to use our own keyboards? it'd make chat a lot better. or whena chat window is open to just automatically be able to type in it without having to press square at all

The box to do anything is very slow on the input.
(PSN)MrShadowHero
its definitely possible. FF14 can use a keyboard and mouse for the whole time you play without any controller input. there is definitely a way to get the keyboard commands in without needing controller input beforehand
(PSN)Vorpal_Spork
Definitely. This is the worst chat implementation I've ever seen. We should just be able to hit enter and start typing just like in every other online game. There's no reason to make us go through a menu and a multiple step process just to type something. (PSN)LunaticGunner
Oh my god yes. Pressing Square is annoying when I have my keyboard. I would hope Sony provided hooks for DE to know if there is a keyboard attached and bypass the square.

(PSN)Pharen
It would be good if we could just pop up the text chat with the "T" (for talk) button.
(PSN)handmedownheart
spacebar to bring up the chat....."T" to actually start typing a message. There's plently of good ideas on these forums regarding this. "T.....for 'Time to Leave'..."
