Item Usage in Combat

Instead of holding the item button then clicking with the mouse, which can be disorienting during combat even at the best of times, could it be item+number? Q+1 for the first item, Q+2 for second and so on.

Maybe make it a little bar on the screen that displays your equipped items, and you can use them by pressing a Function key?

This, definitely this. Perhaps a better use for the scroll-wheel/mid-click-use since the numbers are already used for the powers, and shouldn't be needed for both?

Or just assign it to the number keys like a standard MMO hotbar, whilst making your four abilities selectable with the scroll wheel or something simple. Hitting the number keys to use abilities (which are very combat oriented in a fast-paced third person shooter, mind you) I don't find very intuitive personally.

i agree.

anyways, the whole game needs more MMO UI in general like the chat, keybindings, market, inventory etc whoever played once knows that right now this actual UI feels like a chore.
