Multishot; Random Or Structured?

I read somewhere that it is literally programmed to shoot 9 shots of double shot and 1 shot of single shot when the chances are 90%, rather than randomly shooting double shot 90% of the time. Is this true? Or completely wrong?

Multishot is additive, not random. But you can't fire part of a bullet/pellet, so its saved for the next shot.

I thought this too.

However after testing it I found it not to be the case.

Test it for yourself; part-projectiles are not handled in a deterministic fashion (rollover).

They're probably a weighted random. (0.2 of a projectile - > 20% chance to proc.)
