Hello everyone,

 

The topic of the 8 player raid missions (law of retribution) has initially been getting alot of mixed reactions.

 

 

I've heard opinions of all kinds, so i've made this poll to at least try to gauge where the community stands.

i just want to finish one... :( been in some for 2hrs and people can't seem to figure it out... even when what needs done is understood. *sigh*

You're not alone, i've been hearing alot of my other friends on warframe say how hard it's been for them.

Hang in there, most likely an online guide will pop up. Or players just coming around to knowing how to pass it.

Am I the only 1 who thinks the raid is to easy, especially for what it is?

 

The only hard thing about it was the communication.

 

Once you figure out what to do and someone is leading, not everyone talking, the raid is easy and can probably done in under 1h.

My thoughts of people who dont like raids in particular could be players that are use to achieving missions solo, or casually in public games, or just don't have a clan or tight knit group to run with.

 

Maybe expectations were just in different places, so many have differing motivations for playing warframe.  I've heard alot of reasons. It's been interesting how polarizing this topic has been.

it feels more like sticking different mission types together and you cant leave between the missions (except the second level, but that one is boring as well)

Yeah basically in a nut shell, they threw in a bit more factors to each one but it seemed liek they were testing all game types into one single trial.

 

Basically was like a "Tenno quiz" in game form.

De knows they cant do anything to make procedural generation enemies any challenging, so they gone around and made puzzles.

 

Difficulty in the whole raid depends on whether your team knows all puzzles or not.

1st run will definitely fail since ppl dont know what to do and after ppl get a hang of it its way too easy.

 

I cant consider them good if all challenge comes from getting info on puzzles.

 

Then another problem is that you need to do them in 1 sitting and you cant retry, which is even worse due to 6h crafting time.

There was initial excitement from alot of players knowing they could face off against level 80 enemies without spending too much time in a mission.

 

From what i've been hearing from many people that was a high point of raids, and i do agree.

 

Puzzles seem to be hit or miss with the community, but hey with time i'm sure they'll make adjustments or just make new missions types.

 

Yeah crafting time, maybe that is something that bothers people as well.

1.) Every key needs 6 hours to craft.

2.) The effects of the rewards(Arcanes) are quite small and need to be stacked to be effective BUT of course the rewards are random. (There are already 12 different enhancements... 1 out of 12. This will be fun.)

3.) Crafting ONE Arcane costs 500k credits.

4.) After completing a raid and getting an Arcane you need to wait 24 hours before being able to get another Arcane. (WTF?!)

 

And I've not even mentioned all the bugs, matchmaking and communication problems various people encountered so far. Those will be fixed I'm sure, but the other things... especially 2 and 4? Those are really killing the fun for me.

Understandable, if you're hosting a raid it can be a bit of a gamble time and resource wise.

 

I've crafted 10 keys and played 5 raids myself, the first time purchase is indeed 100k creds, after that it's 9000 for additional copies.

 

If you have the time though i've seen plenty of people hosting via recruitment channel.

Try to join there if you don't want to burn up alot of resources.

 

You're right about the bugs, i've had several missions where the control panels you have to hack tend to freeze up and not function.

Causing your progress to stop dead in it's tracks.

 

If you're weary it's probably good to play it safe and wait for the bugs to be worked out.

If you have time though, join pub raids. Once again, a gamble but you could pull off an amazing victory. Never know i suppose.

I hear alot of comparisons between destiny and warframe.

 

Warframe came out first right?

As I've tried to post before. The MAJOR difference between Destiny's Raids (and basically every type in other games) and Warframe's right now is the 4 per Day Revive limit.

 

In Destiny (WoW, you name it) a failed attempted at a section just means rerunning that section from the start. In Warframe we lose the Revives on that Warframe for the day. This forces people to change out Warframes and limits the number of attempts. This means that people DO NOT get the chance to really learn the mechanics.

 

It is well past time the Daily Revives get tossed. They do nothing functional for the game, are little more than a gotcha mechanic on new players, and are an active impediment to designing these Raids for Warframe. I do not object to 4 Revives in a Mission, but if the mission FAILS those revives should be available on a RETRY.

Another point is that the current Raid is effectively on HARD mode. Starting the enemy at level 80 is putting them up at DAMAGE figures that are near-to-one-shot to make no difference. This means you not only have people scrambling to figure out HOW to actually do the mechanics but also SURVIVE.

 

The enemy level needs to be scaled back down to the group point of T4 Keys (level 40) as the "Normal" mode. There is a reason why Raids in other games are structured in a "Normal", "Hard", "No Life" tiers of difficulty. Even going to WoW which has LFR which is little more than a charlie fox "Casual" mode (for the Solo people).

 

We know there will always be a small % of people that want it HARDER THAN HARD, but building specifically for those people alone is BAD DESIGN. We've been over this point time and again with Endless mission types. The solution has worked before. If people want it "harder" add an Endless element at some point that allows a group to increase the % Chance of a reward OR the amount of reward they get, let them self scale the enemy. It's a formula we know works, and works well.

Tbh I'm just going to buy them off the trade channel, it's far easier and more satisfying then the Everest u need to complete and the vast restrictions in place that they have.

Turn off's:

1. Connection issues

2. Lag issues

3. Level 80 enemy - come on its hard enough!

4. No tutorial about what do expect so we can't prepare

5. 500k to craft a arcane every time

6. 24 hour cool down to do it again so restricting u with playing with different friends if they haven't done it yet

7. Small credit rewards considering the vast amount of credits needed to craft this stuff

8. Small arcane buffs

9. Enemy don't scale down with 4 player raids as a option

10. Having to start all the way back to the beginning after failing instead of splitting the sections

Come DE your better than this, you have released a raid which is fundamentally flawed, it needs withdrawing and reworking.

i think the problem of the (very broken) raid is that a raid with 8 tenno should be CHALLANGED by it and nit desintegrated.I know people will say: "DUH! you gotta have the right frames like loki!" but that is the WRONG attempt. warfreme is about heving free choice of your character ALL of them have advances and quirks so people should not be forced to play with a certain combo of frames. also the idea of the raid beeing so hard that even EINGREIFTRUPP (one of the strongest german clans) didn't manage to play it in a regular manner (wich means killing enemys) even a full Rihno P. team didn't manage it. there is a basic issue i think: the bar was set too high even for people that are ona an endgame level.

 

so in my opinion: it needs to be reworked so that people don't get FORCED into a certain sheme of classes and strategie that leaves no room for fun and variety.
