Haerhitman
I find myself shooting the backs of my teammates and wasting my precious ammo more often than not, and the cause? People not paying attention to their surroundings and running in front of me when I am crouched and aimed at an enemy or group of enemies. If someone is firing don't walk right in front of them and stop. Be mindful of the sectors of fire from your teammates. I understand the game get's crazy sometimes and everyone is scrambling every which way but come on, at least try.
-HAKUNA-YOUR-TATAS-
It's a bit difficult to do so at times, because you're not the only one trying to kill the enemy, the other players don't have eyes behind them, or the patience to wait for someone else to make the kill. Ammo isn't all that precious. You do know that you can carry ammo boxes with you right? If you're needing more than 1200 rounds (base ammo and 1 ammo box on an assault rifle) for an earlier mission there's something wrong. I take it you're just starting (nothing wrong with that, everyone here started one time or another) all I can say is don't worry about not having enough targets to kill. You'll get there. There'll be plenty for you to shoot at as you progress. Good luck. Edited May 9, 2013 by sushidubya

I carry plenty of ammo usually 2 boxes for primary and secondary. Most of the time it's people running from behind me to right in front of me so I know they see me. The OP was just a courtesy thing rather than a demand(not demanding at all), I realize that most times it's not easy to do, but I just figured that the people who saw this might be more mindful of it in the future and the trend might spread. It would lead to more tactical gameplay in my opinion, which is always fun.
BlueEden
Or you just got your gorgon rolling on a group of enemies and someone walks in front of you and stands there going pow, pow with their Lato. +1 from me.
Haerhitman
I also stopped using the glaive for this reason, I got tired of firing the glaive and a teammate walking in front of it and bouncing the shot, didn't always happen but happened enough. tactical_surgeon
If there were friendly fire the blue falcons(google it) would rise :P yea, maybe - I still stand that ( besides some trolls ) the amount of ordination would go up if others had to be wary about teammate location

Hyginos
Being a bit heavy on the trigger myself, I like to run automatics with big mags and high fire rates, so when I see a horde in a hallway my firt instinct is aim down sights and hold the trigger till everything is dead or the mag runs dry. It seems about a 50/50 shot someone will decide to do the same thing 2 paces right in front of me. Seriosuly. If you see someone laying down the DAKADAKA, either stand next to them or go all in. Haerhitman
It works very well in left4dead and similar.. :) yea but in left4dead there is always that one person who gets accidentally shot by a teammate then goes psycho on the rest.

GreenFlag
How do you crouch? I use control but have to release ctrl to shoot, is there any other key that lets you crouch and stay crouched when shooting? Not really the thread for this, and I'm not sure if this helps with your problem, but you can configure a key to have you crouch for as long as you hold the button, and another one to toggle crouch mode. If your problem is that your computer won't let you press control and right click at the same time, then I don't know what to tell you.
honeybadger
Until friendly fire is added, I don't think you can do much about this problem. You should depend on your own skills to reposition yourself and not be body-blocked. It takes a fair amount of awareness to track your position, your target's position, and any other hazards in the area. Note the last part. Since there is no friendly fire, your teammates are NOT a hazard and moving out of your line of fire is low on the priority list. I bet if there was some feedback given to your teammate when he is being hit by friendly fire (not taking damage, just a visual effect), there would be a higher probability of moving out of your firing line. If I am playing with friends, I'll try and stick to the sides of the map in order to not block their fire lines. If I am running an alert mission with a PUG...well, tbh, I dont care -- odds are I am doing more damage than they are anyway.
Kantazo
I hate when people stand in front of you, I just move to higher area or to the side. (Or if I am using my hek, I just charge to the enemy becoming the obstruction, MAUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Edited May 9, 2013 by Kantazo
Guest
some people like myself enjoy debilitating ourselves by not using ammo boxes tbh i think they're a waste of time as I can manage my ammo pretty well without em often during those long (mobile defense) missions, I don't mind kickin it with melee when I'm drained
GreenFlag
well in Left4Dead - you don't take all that much damage from friendly fire ~ so maybe in warframe you don't take full damage from friendly fire, but just enough as incentive to not shoot a teammate ~ also not enough for trolls to get a kick out of it That would have to be the way it goes. Friendly fire would be VERY scary in PUGs if it dealt full damage. Think about how dangerous it is to fire a heavily modded Gorgon or Snipetron when a boss drops Bullet Attractor on you. It only takes about a second of gunfire to bring a player dangerously close to death, or even to down them if they have low armor. As regards L4D, the gameplay is less frantic in terms of player movement. The lower mobility in that game makes it less likely that someone will slide-dash into your line of fire. Granted many shooter games have friendly fire, but Warframe is a bit of an oddity in this regard because it has so many mobility options, and also because melee is constantly accessible, making it far more likely here than in many other games that a teammate will just bum rush a crowd or boss without communicating to the rest of the squad.
