De - Please Fix Jumping.

I've asked before, in other threads, this time, it's a dedicated thread.

 

Please fix the jumping. For whatever reason, you have jump a low priority action, so if I press jump, and immediately press melee attack, I melee, and do not jump.

 

In button presses, if I want to guarantee a  jump, I have to press jump 4 times to ensure it happens. Timing of jumps is nearly impossible right now, because I never know how many jump presses I have to make before I'll actually jump.

 

Just make it the same priority as anything else - make it intrinsic. If I press jump, then another action which cannot occur at the beginning of the jump, then don't do the action, let the jump happen. I can always repress whatever action key it is later. In a game where parkour is supposed to mean something, the low priority given jumping is baffling, and infuriating in terms of frustrating gameplay mechanics.

 

Please, with sugar on top, fix jump.

 

P.S. And maybe we need an action button other than a melee attack for directional air movement, and parkour movements. Coptering is dumb, IMO, but a product of necessity because without it, the space ninja is more like a space slug.

If I could +1 you more than once, I would. When we press jump button, we should be able to expect to jump reliably and promptly.

To add to this, try slide jumping into another slide from the air, and trying to slide jump again from the landing slide. Theres a huge delay. Its super annoying.

Agreed.

 

The delay between pressing you jump button, and the actual jump, is pretty bad, and needs a good fixing.

I have had some weird input-lag in my time, but somehow this feels different.

 

I also agree that coptering is dumb.

Yes please, jumping is so awkward that it's pretty much useless, i actively avoid jumping, and instead i slide jump which is a lot more reliable. Normal jumping really breaks the flow of the game.
