Karagera
I think TF2's art style was ruined slightly by some of the silly cosmetic options. W-what are you talking about, what silly cosmetic options? *slides his box of unusuals under his bed with his feet*
Strac_CRO
I think game needs better color palete (better basic-pure colors = I want pure orange) edit: I mean at colors for warframe soldiers, not level design Edited January 29, 2013 by Strac_CRO

Blatantfool
No. They need to make money, you're already even in terms of power with the payed users. Customization is exactly how they should do it. Customization = Pay. Also, the color pack is $5. $5 is expensive since when? Skins are customization I expect to buy. If the quality is good I'd be willing to pay 10-20$ a skin as well. Colors however? No. If you want to give me a color palette fulls of pastel tones I expect to have my picks of that palette. The color pack itself doesn't even have anything in it worthy of money in the first place. Brighter, more vivid colors like the orange on Ember's default color scheme can't even be obtained. Aggh
No thank you. Cosmetics are the one thing that should stay cash only. Maybe one or two individual colors could be put in, but nothing more than that. That's a stretch too imo. Skins are customization I expect to buy. If the quality is good I'd be willing to pay 10-20$ a skin as well. Colors however? No. If you want to give me a color palette fulls of pastel tones I expect to have my picks of that palette. Then pay for it. It's not important for gameplay so there's no reason they shouldn't monetize it. You have very little ground to stand on here. You have very little ground to stand on here. Other then them selling something devoid of any value for 5$ The colors are awful. You essentially pay for the use of the color black. It is like how Fable3 sold most of their dyes. If they want to charge that price for something that small they need to expand the pallete to include more valuable colors too, like some of the unobtainable colors already present on some of the Frames default paint schemes. I don't care if they ever make it free. I do think they need to change what is in the pack to make it actually warrant a 5$ purchase. Zakalwe
I reckon: Give the current paid-for pallete to all players. Give a full sliding colour gradiant to paying customers. F2Pers get slightly more options. Paying customers get something actually worth paying for.

The pastels are ugly and make buying the back pretty pointless. Paying a whole 5$ for pastel tones is ludicrous. Karagera
I bought the colors, but I do find them a bit lacking. I would like a bit more things to color, hopefully that will come along with cosmestic items like armor pieces and whatnot, but as they are now, I'll admit, they're not worth the whole five bucks I spent. This is what I figure many people notice. I'm not totally against them selling that pack, despite it being super lame to do so when we all know they'll be doing skins too. But I AM against their price considering how the colors are extremely lackluster. They charge you 5$ for the color black.

Ryme
I believe Plat may be one of the possible login rewards. If so, I feel that is enough. Color customization is THE definition of cosmetic options. I agree that it is ok to make people pay for such things.

Cleverbird
No, this idea is silly... it provides no ingame advantage whatsoever and is purely cosmetic This is like saying that future skins should also come as a login reward, which is most certainly should not. Kirbuncle
entitlement. Nice misuse of that word. Pay up or gtfo, there's no good reason for them to be free. If you would take a minute to read his post, he said quite clearly he is not concerned with the colour option ever being free. He is not entitled to the right to offer criticism, he is expected to, hence the whole closed beta thing. And I don't think he's far wrong - for the asking price, it's a pretty poor selection of colours, and it could definitely stand to be expanded upon. I still stand by the idea I posted earlier in the thread. Just lock off two sizable sections of that palette and you get pretty much the same system but with much more choice. No, this idea is silly... it provides no ingame advantage whatsoever and is purely cosmetic This is like saying that future skins should also come as a login reward, which is most certainly should not. Also, this. Selling cosmetics while allowing regular access to game-affecting content is the ideal of the f2p model. When it works, it makes pretty much everyone happy. This is one of the few cases where I can understand the people that $#*(@ about other people having an unfounded sense of entitlement. Currently I do not desire to pay 5$ for pastels. I've said why multiple times. See, this is how giving feedback works. It isn't like I'm relying on hyberbole to back my argument up and saying "They are SO overpriced and they should be FREE anyway this is such a ripoff!" I'm saying that while I do not agree with holding back something like a selection of colors to be sold like this I'm willing to focus instead on giving my opinion on the value of the purchase as is and how to fix it to make the pack more valuable as a purchase. Which, by the way, is the opposite of arguing they should be free. I'm arguing 'This would make them worth buying" I guess, compared to some, I'm what you'd call a tough customer. Instead of being okay with it purely because its cosmetic I'm finding myself looking at what I actually get for the money paid and saying "This doesn't cut it. It isn't worth 5$" Edited January 29, 2013 by Blatantfool
V1RTU5
nope this should stay strictly to those who pay. imo the color choices are actualy to small in the paied choices. but no there shouldnt be any way for f2p to gain access to the extra colors

That's the one thing in f2p games that absolutely should stay cash only. If he's not willing to pay $5 that's his problem. It's not like a color palatte is going to be raking in cash like crazy anyways. Even if they made it $1 they would likely not make much money on it either way. It's just a grab for money on something that people don't really need. Those that really want it will buy it, those that can't spare $5 don't need to buy it to enjoy the game. Edited January 29, 2013 by Aggh
Kirbuncle
it's simple (picture removed for space reasons) This is pretty much the same thing I want to see, though I didn't think to suggest seperate colour-editing for different body regions. I am in favour of this.

Tetsmeha
If the colors are lackluster, the answer isn't to make them pretty much free. It's up to the devs to make them better or add more to customization. Same applies to weapon stats. Sometimes certain guns are OP because the numbers are broken or the damage calculation is bad. But sometimes the gun is OP because all the other ones are crap.
