Breaking The Market

I know what you are feeling, I felt it when Prime Trading became a thing. I worked so hard on getting all my stuff, and felt it was undone in one day. Then I realized it doesn't make my achievements any less. I had fun doing what I did.

If I understand you correctly, you want the mods to stay exclusive to an event, untradeable, but having the event come every so often so all players can get them?

Honestly, I can see that working and reduce a lot of hassle or refarming. Make it a quest with one time rewards, but replayable for lore or fun.

I am open to a solution re the events, either reruns or making them truly exclusive.

Lets just have one section of the game that rewards and respects merit alone.

I actually don't feel the need to defend , like I can't get primed chamber , you shouldnd be able to get jolt , Exclusive should remain exclusive

Thing is, they both are never meant to be exclusive. Never were. The whole Primed Chamber just became a THING. Only exclusives are Founders. Period.

Acquisition

This mod was acquired by scoring beyond 250 points in the Tethra's Doom event.

This mod, along with the other Tethra's Doom mods, was made available again during Operation: Mutalist Incursions as a drop in

the unlockable Survival mission. [1]

Jolt is now offered as a periodic item for sale by Baro Ki'Teer , costing

"You Mad bro?" LOL!

No.

I am not mad bro,

Thats because it is not an issue that affaects me personally.

It is a matter of principle.

Therefore its not an issue of emotion, but rather logic.

Logic is the opposite of emotion.

Hence I am not mad.

If you want me to write that down in big colourful crayon font, then PM me and I will send it to you as an attachment.

Its obvious why DE allowed the void trader to see Jolt, its because they are fed up with the greed and profiteering in the market trades.

Primed Chamber was the first exclusive mod (I forgot about Ancient Fusion cores, whoops). It currently sells for 6000+ platinum, and I'm definitely lowballing that price right now.

Primed Chamber is about a year and nine months old at this point. If they were sick of greed and profiteering, then they'd have released Primed Chamber instead of maintaining it as the most exclusive mod, giving out one (to three I think), on arbitrarily decided devstreams.

To address the topic directly, that's why Vor, Spy 2.0, Survival rewards, and Nightmare mode exist. They're the places where event mods have been placed after the event has ended. With time, they might find a place for the electric mods. It might stay hidden in Baro Ki'Teer's' infinite buttocks and return every so often, or it might find its place in a special mission type or enemy.

Having the events return every one or two years is way worse, and in fact, is would be a longer wait between the mods than we have now. Tethra's Doom (the electric dual-stat mods) was in about March of last year (2014). We had Mutalist Incursions in December. Both were the opportunities to get the electric mods. This is a 9 month period. I punched it really quickly into my calculator and discovered that 9 months is less than 1 year.

Having it stick with Baro Ki'Teer isn't my preferred choice, and in fact, I really dislike it. But at least it means the mods are coming back in some capacity.

By the way, slightly off-topic, but on  a couple of the Devstreams, they've mentioned that they want old events to be replayable. Whether or not the rewards would still  be attainable remains to be seen, but supposedly it's in the pipeline.

Lets just have one section of the game that rewards and respects merit alone.

Right now, BP drops from assassins are the merit thing (where are you my Despair).

That can turn to frustruation and game abandonment if RNG refuses to drop what you want, especially sine WF is free to play. Once you get this ball rolling you may not like where it ends.

Replayable events is fine.

Just make the mods not tradeable.

As for primed chamber.

Thats a pathetic joke.

6000 plat for a mod .

Anyone paying that is ;

1) too rich

2) too stupid.

I want Warframe to be a meritocracy, where people get mods based on them deserving to get them for completing alerts.

And by the way, restricting the sale of event mods is not socialism.

Allocating all mods to everyone regardless of merit would be socialism.

Which is as imbecilic as allowing the richest players to buy what they want and pay to win simply as they have the most money.

Thereby creating a self replicating cycle of rewards as the richest players can buy the best mods which allow them to finish the harder events to get the best mods which allow them to finish the harder events ad nauseum.

merit? yea sure... anyway the ones that have a lot of platinum either worked in real life to buy (merit) or became good at trading (merit) deal with it.

I dont see any merit in a random drop from stalker.

You kill stalker.

Then RNG blesses you or it doesnt with a sigil. dread, despair, hate or nothing.

No merit there.

Just random luck.

I got 2 hate BP's in a mission the other day simply by running into a corner where someone else had killed stalker.

No merit in that.

LOL

I dont know whether you are naive or joking.

Probably the former.

While I respect your idea here, and feel somewhat agreeable to earning by merit, what you have to understand is, 'merit' is subjective and heavily so.

Merit for me may be chaining 100 headshots, but for you may be doing a mission without killing a single enemy in absolute stealth.

If people want to buy mods, let them. If people want to sell mods, let them.

It's their game.

Hey, if it let's a free player contribute to the economy, why the hek not! It's not like you are forced to buy the mods. You are always free to earn them. As the Devs have said, event stuff is merely early access. Everyone who could read knew the Tethra mods were coming back sometime.

As for pay to win........I don't follow you here. Any mods that is essential is earnable in-game. If some people offered me their money for an okay mod......why not? We aren't losing anything, either of us! Some players prefer to use their powered up stuff in game rather than spending aeons farming for them-and I respect that. They might not have the time to grind. Have you thought of that, of people with jobs? They have to forma and level their things, build their weapons by themselves. Ain't no magic plat item there that can insta give them an 8 forma soma prime.

In the end, it is neither for me, nor you to dictate how the game plays out. If someone wants to shell out 300 plat, fine. He has fun that way, let him play that way. It will neither make him better or worse than me.

I disagree, since they can be fairly hard to kill sometimes with lower leveled frames. If you see one with 30,30,30,30 gear, even then merit allowed to to kill the assassin. Merit does exist, only the drop is RNG

Yes, thats right.

Dont bother actually critiquing what I wrote, critique what I did not write.

It is a matter of principle.

I used logic to actually critique what you said, somehow that went right by you. You keep saying you want people to "earn" and "deserve" the mods in this game. Strange thing though is that not everybody have the time to play every alert and event. So if they want to enjoy the game in their own time and way while supporting the game you feel that "your" way is the only true way of playing. Telling people how to play and what to do is seldom a very good solution.

In addition to this you demean people with other views by calling them idiots and indicating they have low IQ. So I really don't think you are in any position to be calling the people partaking in this topic unmature and spoiled mommy boys. There actually is a lot of different opinions regarding most things in life so the "my way or the highway" rhetoric is quite out of place.

Its simple.

Do you agree that just one section of this game should be entirely about merit ?

Thats it.

I do.

I think it makes for a better game when merit is rewarded.

I think exclusive event mods should be based on merit.

Just that one section of the game.

To preserve some integrity as to the ethos of the game and to ensure that the Pay To Win tag cannot be applied to it.

We can agree to disagree, though I see your point.

I fought stalker the other day with an unranked Gram with an 11 ranked mirage .

I lost.

I fought him constantly for about five minutes, got half his health bar down before he dispelled me.

The fact it took him 5 minutes to kill me, and only then with a sneaky move, did not annoy me - I was pleased to get that far to be honest.

It already cannot. You cannot buy anything with platinum that is not earnable in-game that gives you significant power boost.

For clarity, could you define merit please? Thanks.

I am not telling anyone how to play.

So how about you critique what I wrote, not what I did not wrote.

I was talking about the market and mods, not how to play.

Nice straw man there.

As for my intolerance of both pay to play and stupidity, sorry if that offends you.

Theres the highway, feel free to leave this thread on it if you wish.

I am not forcing you to stay on it.

Merit = you didnt pay for it.

You earnt it through skillful play not via pay to win or using macro's to farm missions.

So buying a Volt Prime or Loki Prime doesnt give you a power boost ?

Yes, you can earn them in game.

But much of the the RNG makes them virtually impossible to get via grind eg Loki Chassis drop rates.

Hence why that costs upwards of 200 plat.

No, they want people to buy plat it's how they feed their employees and such... So I don't think that's DE's intention at all. But anyway all of that trading BS could be solved by an auction system like in most MMO's where people undercut each other for sales. There's no such thing as like 200 people selling the same mod or item for exactly the same price in an auction house system, the market would fluctuate and people desperate for plat would charge less for their mods and junk.
