So i use the phage, run some mission on void and derelict and when i hear a squeak sound of a viral proc, the health doesn't cut in half above 50%, basically doing nothing. i've checked the wiki that when enemy have a viral sign below their health, they became this puke color and their health was cut in half if its above 50%.
DE pls notice this, it makes viral for me a no go.

or perhaps im wrong with how viral works...? (tested with corrupted butcher, corrupted heavy gunner, and tons of infested.)

what viral does even if u dont notice, it does half the health of an enemy no matter what percentage of health that enemy has. Viral procs can also stack causing enemies like a heavy gunner having less health than a lancer. The enemy health bar sometimes does not change at all because that is something the UI does, it is a bad perception. No matter what, if you put a viral proc their total health will be halved, not make a grinee with 500 health and decrease to 250 like damage, it just resets max health to 250 instead.

(example of bad perception)

Enemy has 500 health and you did 100 damage to it already. It has 80% health left.

Viral proc happens.

enemy now has 250 health and 200 health left, bar does not change although the change is very much real. Enemy still has 80% health but it is completly different then it first started

This is correct, except that Viral procs can not stack! No matter how often you proc Viral on an Enemy his max health will always be "only" 50% of his max HP.

Combined with Corrosive (which only a few weapons can achieve) you´re in for a lethal combination though, since Corrosive procs indeed stack, rendering enemy armor effectively useless after a couple of shots and leaving him with considerably less HP to deal with cause of the Viral Proc.

The Tysis fe., can do this with a 100% Proc chance, making it one of the best weapons to have when dealing with Heavy Grineer Units!

Hope that helped^^

greetings
