Namacyst
At first i thought i imagine things or that normal crit numbers which are yeelow are somewhat changed in color due to the yellowish screen-blur you get when you go invisible with Loki... but then it happendes again... and in later games again and again. So here is my Question: Does the Loki Invis have some hidden not stated damage Multiplier on Crits or something because my Bo staff is currently charge-critting for 180 but Red numbers show up above 220 Damage.. hek.. i Invis critted a Grinneer with Bo for over 300 in Red (and i shot a nice Homerun with him btw. :D) Information would be appreciated! Namacyst
But.. where does it come from? What does it mean? Backstab vs. unaware Enemys? Crit on the Head? Flaw in the Matrix? I NEED TO KNOOOOW!!!! 0_= Edited January 16, 2013 by Namacyst
Ced23Ric
What is red number? We need to know. Who was phone? What it DO?!
Volt_Cruelerz
Maybe there's some uber-crit spot at the brainstem or something and when you're invisi-loki you get that everywhere? Edited January 16, 2013 by Volt_Cruelerz
Sherbniz
If you attack unaware enemies, in my experience you deal a lot more damage. Maybe this is the case with the red numbers... I gotta test it out later.
MobileSuit
Stealth has 2x multiplier for melee (am i wrong?). If melee attack crits u get red number.

Stealth has 2x multiplier for melee (am i wrong?). If melee attack crits u get red number. Melee attacks on unaware enemies are automatically crits. Anyone can do it but obviously the better your farme is at being able to catch enemies unaware the more often it will happen. So loki, while invisible, will get crits on his melee attacks pretty much every time. Its obviosuly eaiser for the invisible guy to this than anybody else. Which, comparatively speaking, is much more difficult for the ASH to do. Considering the ASH is the one who is supposedly stealthy according to the discription..... Its kind of weird that he is so much less capable. Either the discriptions need to be modified, loki and ash need to trade who has invisibility or Ash needs some other changes to make him more able to be sneaky. Namacyst
Ash's fart-vanish makes no sense on Loki and the fact that Ash is currently UP is no reason to touch Warframes that are fine and balanced for their purpose like Loki is. Btw. Ash is not the Topic.. Red numbers and when they appear are. So tell us.. somebody? What Red do?! Edited January 16, 2013 by Namacyst
Delirious
Admin should answer this for it to be official.. notice the same red numbers too
Indy09
I am pretty sure the Red numbers are dmg done to enemies when it ignores their armour and shield or such.
Vashramire
I've been testing this for a while, but can not come up for a reason for the red crits. It's not consistent with a backstab but I do seem to notice it more when invis. I can't seem to force it and it just seems random.
Dr3dd
I stabbed someone for 700+red I guess its overkill% dmg?
Ronyn
Ash is not the Topic.. Red numbers and when they appear are. So tell us.. somebody? What Red do?! I already gave the info I had on the topic at hand. Ash's fart-vanish makes no sense on Loki and the fact that Ash is currently UP is no reason to touch Warframes that are fine and balanced for their purpose like Loki is. I proposed multiple ways to fix the situation not just "powers must be traded!" so dont get caught up on that. They could just fix the descriptions or imrpove ash like i said. For the record- The cloud vanish power that Blinds people.... conceptually fits the "battlefeild control" and "trickster" scheme just as much as the "stealth" theme. Namacyst
Don't think so because.. even if i crit all the time while invis (and i doubt that because i'm pretty certain that my charge attacks dont crit automatically all the time when invis) mostly 1 out of 20 hits are Red numbers with nearly double the normal crit damage value.. for me it seems that it is a combination of unaware enemy + crit + damage from a certain position (from behind or something... cue: Backstab). Maybe we can make a Quizz about it.. everyone stating an opinion and tomorrow or so a Dev answers it an congratulates the one closest guess with a Ammo Box ;) Edited January 16, 2013 by Namacyst
UkyoSonoda
Not sure but I've seen the red numbers quite often and only when I do melee attacks. Some of these I've seen pop up on enemies running at me but every case I have noticed whatever I hit died instantly. Also I can'r recall ever seeing the red numbers from a charge attack they've only appeared doing normal melee strikes.

Foxbyte
I think it's a crit when the enemy is unaware, but I've never been able to reliably reproduce it due to unaware enemies being quite rare.
UkyoSonoda
It's not an unaware crit unless there's a glitch causing it to happen on aware enemies. I've had these red numbers pop up on enemies playing solo that were very aware of me and actively trying to kill me
Namacyst
And the main thing is that those Red numbers seem to appear random.. i'm so confused 0_o
Arkfall
I've gotten red numbers before off Jackle while dumping my 316 round clip into his rear end.. the Red Number might be Critial Skill hits?
Namacyst
We mostly got Red numbers when we melee but.. you shot him in the back so.. maybe it is related to a backstab kind of thing.

Coldmood_Viney
I think red damage is critical damage in the back when the enemy does not see you. If ordinary crits I have 2k, the red will be like 3-5k.
V1RTU5
^^ big numbers. i see at least 1 red (withing the web of numbers) per shot with my shotgun. and i think its just a super crit or it bypassed thier armor rating 100% in that spot. i carry a hefty ap shotgun so thats what i think
