Hi, I'm The Voice Of Tyl Regor

Recommended Posts

"I'm very exited now. The anticipation, ooh..."

I can't be the only one that thought of this...

Cool thing about that line was that there was no "ooh" in the actual script. Gotta love ad-libs! I think there may have been a take where Tyl actually licked his lips as he said that line. =)

It sounds like you did a lot of ad-libbing with those lines. There's just a lot of stuff that I listen to and think, "That couldn't possibly have been there on the page." Tyl is definitely the most character-y character in the game right now, thanks to your voice work.

I had to play that boss battle 42 times to get all the parts for Equinox.

Normally such a grind can get rather tedious, but that voice... still so rich and entertaining. The personality you do for the voice, the emotion behind the lines... it's perfect! Tyl feels like such a complete character, and he's actually fun to interact with!

Good voice acting can make a big difference, I hope we see VoiceActingNinja do more voices for Warframe in the future.

Not up to me, unfortunately.

Up to the DE team if they want to bring him back!

With all of the people who so enthusiastically support your work as Tyl Regor, I think it would be a mistake to stop bringing him back.

I do think out of all the voice acting Tyl Regor sounds the best. In that role you actually remind me of Captain Gantu from Lilo and Stitch. I've pointed this out in game, and others have agreed with me.

You make Tyler Regor sound so intimidating when ever he starts talking during the Event I would think he sounds like a tuff and powerful opponent it's really cool to see such a character be that way and with your voice it just goes together perfectly you have an amazing voice bro.

And that's not the first time I'VE heard it from players.

I think we never truly hear an original character ... we always tend to look toward who or what it sounds like (or could be inspired by).

I'm just happy to hear someone thinks Tyl sounds like a Disney character!

Well, they can't all be golden.

IMO, gotta make lines like those sound as fun as possible.

Enjoy the other lines in the meantime!! =)

O you misunderstand. I meant that it was cheesy. It made me laugh with how cheesy it was. It wasn't that I hate you, it was that it was just so cheesy. :P

It felt so 80s that it made me pause my game and laugh.

Did they TELL YOU to make it sound like Regor was shipping Lotus and the thing in the tomb during Natah? Because that's what it sounded like to me:

Do you to have a.... history ;)

ALL that was missing was the winky face.

Captain Gantu from Lilo and Stitch. I've pointed this out in game, and others have agreed with me.

Excellent job on the voice acting. Tyl Regor sounds great. Your voice acting reminded me a lot of Dave Fennoy's work for The Walking Dead video game. There is something in your delivery that reminds me of Lee from that game, both being great performances.

Did you ever find out the color inside the Tenno's head-fruit?

Tyl Regor is extremely over-acted. I suppose people here confuse "liking the character" with "liking the voiceactor's talent".

Frankly, I'm not impressed by his voice, and I don't think his voice is any better than the other characters'.

I'm pretty certain the reason people are so pleased about Tyl's voiceacting is merely because they heard he was the first external, professional voiceactor called for the game - so they convinced themselves his voice is good.

Me? I'm a voiceacting addict. Checking out voiceactors and making comparisons is my hobby - a hobby that probably comes from my studies, as I am an Italian with a bachelor's degree in Japanese language and a master in English language (basically: languages, words and speeches are my passion).

Tyl's voice leaves me unimpressed, and I fail to see why some people talk so much about it.

*snip*

Incidentally, this is precisely how not to write a negative review.

You don't like his voice. That's fine. You're passionate about voice acting, and you're very particular about voices. That's fine.

But saying no one else can honestly like it - that the only reason they react positively is because of some form of self-delusion and celebrity blindness - that, on the other hand, is ridiculous.

Taste is subjective. That's the entire point of it. You don't get to decide what good taste is - nor do we. I, personally, think it's hilariously over the top, hammy in the extreme... and that's precisely why I like it. A friend of mine has audio to color synesthesia; she loves it because of how clearly it apparently conveys emotion - on a completely blind listen; nothing but transcripts of the lines, audio clips on the wikia, and basically zero knowledge of Warframe. Doesn't make your taste more valid, or mine, or hers.

Now, I think I'm going to keep thinking of which Tyl Regor quotes to make into ringtones, thank you very much.
