Warframe Slang Lingo Shorthand Abbreviations Acronyms And Definitions (Add If You Know More)

Question

i was talking to someone who didn't know the game very well, and he wanted a glossary
so here it is....feel free to add, thanks

This is organized loosely, use ctrl+f to find what you are looking for


Warframe

WF = warframe, as in the game or warframe, as in your suit
U16 = update 16, game version
DE/dev = digital extremes or developers, makers of warframe
lotus = the symbol of warframe or the lady who talks to you during missions
ordis = your ship's AI
liset = your ship
relay = where you go to hang out, submit marks, trade with void trader, get ducats, talk to cephalons and darvo
marks = stuff you find with loot detector or thief's wit that give you extra syndicate points
node = places to go for a given planet
nav seg = navigation segment, awarded after boss fights or before boss fights for mutalist alad v

Trading:

WTB = want to buy (with platinum)
WTS = want to sell (for platinum)
WTT = want to trade (for stuff, prime parts and mods)
LF = looking for (for stuff of lobbies)
OBO = or best offer
offer = you give me a guess on what this is worth
P/plat = platinum, in game currency
D = ducats
cred = credits, in game
(weapon/frame) P (mod/part) = primed (mod)/ (weapon/frame) prime (part)..usually this is assumed, inferred, or implied
maxed (mod) = rank 10 mod
unranked (mod) = mod with no fusion cores
R5 cores = gold rare fusion cores, ranked 5 (max)

kubrow = space dog
omega = biggest, bulkiest, tallest...appearance, only -- does not affect stats
bulky = fat...appearance, only -- does not affect stats
lotus = permanent warframe symbol on forehead, based on imprint...appearance, only -- does not affect stats
...if this kubrow slang is new to you, I don't recommend buying any dogs

Hosting:

ODs = orokin derelict keys/runs
ODD = orokin derelict defense, good for ranking up low levels
ODS/sab = orokin derelict survival/sabotage
ODA = orokin derelict assasinate
ODC = orokin derelict capture
ODE/vault run = orokin derelict exterminate, need dragon keys (hobbled, extinguished, decaying, bleeding)
T1/T2/T3/T4 = Tower 1/2/3/4, S = survival, C= capture, E = exterminate, S = survival, sab = sabotage, D = defense, MD = mobile defense, I = interception (domination for COD/call of duty)
hosting (lobby) = hosting this, PM for invite
conclave = based on your loadout of weapons and warframe and mods, what your rank is or PVP
MR = master rank
R (number) = ranked 0 to 30 (weapon/warframe/mod)
i/inv = invite me
G3 = grustrag 3
rep farm = syndicate point acquisition
DS = dark sector
W10 = wave 10
LS = life support
sharkwing = archwing underwater
e plate = energy plate, team energy restore

Frames/Weapons:

nek = nekros
trin = trinity
xcal/excal = excalibur
helm = helmet
chas = chassis
sys = systems
bp = blueprint
rec = receiver
gaunt = gauntlet
PLR = prime laser rifle, old abbrev
DMR = deth machine rifle, old abbrev
gold/silver potato = orokin reactor/catalyst, doubles capacity for warframe/weapon
greedy mag = mag with greedy pull augment, that pulls in resources, mods, and credits to 1 spot without moving aka camping
nuke saryn = saryn with str and eff build for 4th power
speed nova = nova with less than 100% strength and maxed duration for MP
slow nova = nova with maxed strength and okay duration for MP
MP = molecular prime, nova's 4th power
EV = energy vamp (trinity)
ultimate = 4th power for any given warframe
TWV = twin wraith vipers
copter = to directional melee while in mid-air
akimbo = dual wield (popularized by call of duty, we see it on WF as the ak- prefix for secondary weapons)

Mods:

polarities: D = Vazarin, - = Naramon, v = Madurai
mod = moderator/mods, for manipulating weapons and frames
PHC = primed heated charge
PPB = primed point blank
PFH = primed fast hands
cont = continuity, duration mod
OE = over extended, mod
BR = blind rage, mod
HC = heavy caliber, mod
FE = fleeting expertise, mod
TF = transient fortitude, mod
NM = narrow minded
QT = quick thinking
E siph = energy siphon
CP = corrosive projection
SD = shield disruption
EOB = eyes of blight mods
BJ = blind justice

General

AFK = away from keyboard, not playing
aka = also known as
lol/lul = laugh out loud
atm = at the moment
sry = sorry
omg = oh my gawd
roflmao = rolling on the floor laughing my a off (figuratively)
idk = i don't know
wtf = what the f
fuuu = fuuudge
AF = as f
ffs = for f's sake
PM = private message
w/o = without
d/c = disconnected
gl = good luck
gj = good job
plz/pls = please
ty/thx = thank you/thanks
kk = okay okay
w/e = whatever
lag = slowness of internet
wp = wrong person or waypoint
? = hm?
sec = wait a second
min = minute or minimum
gtg/g2g = got to go
irl = in real life
jk = joking
nvm/nm = nevermind/not much
y = why
sup = what's up
b/c or cuz = because
ofc = of course
imho = in my honest opinion
ttyl = talk to you later
cya l8r = see you later
tba/tbc/tbd/tbh = to be announced/to be continued/to be determined/to be honest
VIP = very important person, used by lotus to describe targets in capture missions
ikr? = i know, right?
yh = yeah
fyi = for your information
tho = though

Gaming specific:

laser = light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation (for smart alecs)
radar = RAdio Detection And Ranging (for smart alecs)
stats = statistics, intrinsic values of nouns
camping = little to no movement
gg(s) = good game(s)
gf = good fight
noob/nub = newbie
pc = price check (on platinum) or Personal Computer
PVP/PVE = player vs player/environment
fps = frames per second (latency) or first person shooter, which warframe is not, WF is third person
K/D = kill to death ratio
positive K/D, k/d is always positive, but it means more kills than deaths
negative K/D, k/d is never negative, but it means more deaths than kills
spread = k/d and other PVP stats
dps = damage per second
crit = critical damage
OP = original poster/post or overpowered
DoT = damage over time
AoE = area of effect
proc = status effect
CC = crowd control
AI = artificial intelligence, sentinel or specter aiming
RNG = random number generator
eff = efficiency
dur = duration
str = strength
CTF = capture the flag, aka conclave game type
DM = deathmatch
taxi = please host the lobby, to alert
nerf/buff = changes for the worse, or better
xp = experience, affinity for warframe

I didn't see this until after I wrote this...a lot of the stuff on the wiki are outdated/silly for my taste...someone can update that

A note on Kubrow - there are six natural bred patterns, though none of the others are as popular as lotus.

And yesterday I had someone try to sell me an "omega" Kubrow that was short and athletic body type. So it usually means tall and bulky - but not always.

i think omega originated on xbox 1...for those who don't know how to properly use omega to describe dogs, well, the definition is here...spread the word

Slow Nova needs only 145% power strength, not max.

 

Just about every ability with two or more words in the game is abbreviated into its first letters of each word. IS for Iron Skin, for example.
