How To: Rescue Mission Hostage Left In Cell

Question

Posted

hello,

so, we've all encountered this: when you spend enough time by the hostage cells fighting mobs, sometimes he becomes "found" and we can extract, while he's safely in his cell. it's especially useful in high level missions, where mobs tear him to pieces in few shots.

so, in pretty recent past i've found out how to do it with Ash: bladestorm. just make sure you have the mobs spread out. could be not working anymore due to bladestorm not targeting cameras.

just now i found out how to do it with Saryn: have the mobs chasing you (at least i did it with infested) and leave a molt by the door of each openable cell. it will the detect the hostage.

post your methods if you have any :D just to stop this poorly coded escort non-sense! :D

@title of thread : Stockholm Syndrome.

1) enemy radar shows up the hostage every time.

2) This is a bug, exploiting bugs is well, exploiting (aka cheating). In other words this should be in the bugs section and not in players helping players.

Personally I have found that just waiting by the cell he is in can sometimes glitch him like this if you happen to run Enemy Radar artifact or Enemy Sense mod.

DE needs to make the hostage's health scale with the level you are on. Similar to what they just did in 7.11.0 with the level of the Drone the Fusion Moa deploys. This way they can remove the code they have for autofinding the hostage.

Better to fix the issue then have people find loopholes imo.

thank you.

i agree, this needs tweaking, for now, i'll stick with my little exploit. i do it solo anyways, isn't hurting anyone. and we all know how hard it can get escorting solo on Pluto and similar places.

It would be best if we are given the means to knock the hostage out, vaporize him/her and collect the "dust" as in capture mission. Then they will be "trasported to the extraction point" just like the captured targets.

But it could be just one of those "irrational" quirks in the laws of the game-universe. Similar to why orokin artifact in Raid mission just adds a red glow without requiring any physical package, while Spy/Deception "datamass" must be physically kept in a bulky light-bulb-decorated suitcase (maybe usb drive wasn't invented yet in the word of Warframe?).

I want to either be able to rez the hostage or just do the zap, scream, teleport thing. Too risky at higher levels.

Well, if you go by the enemy's screams when you capture him, this hurts an awful lot. And prisoners are fellow Tenno. Just imagine you having been one of those hostages before you got your warframe and started fighting. Would you really like to be "rescued" that way?

Better than getting nommed by Infested or shot by Corpus and Grineer.

Think of it this way: the alternative is a high chance of being mobbed to death by our enemies...

EDIT: lol ninjaed again.. but it is another voice with similar mindset.
