The Glaive should honestly move faster. So either buff the speed or allow the player to make it return right away so the player can kill stuff faster with it and not resort the mostly shooting or running around doing nothing while it has a field day bouncing off walls. Or you can allow the player to control the Glaive by holding down melee after tossing it much like Captain America can with his shield in Ultimate Alliance.

And allow it to go through people. It would be more fun to kill soldiers that are lined up like a mini game of sorts.

Right now, it seems many other weapons are better options than the Glaive due to how long it takes to kill everything by tossing it and how how it's normal attack isn't that strong.

These adjustments for make the Glaive a more meaningful and efficient weapon.

Hardly see people with Glaives these days as opposed to when the first blueprints showed up. Wonder why?

The throw does a honking lot of damage, it's ranged, no ammo consumption, can crit, scales well with Charge Damage/Speed mods, is considered a silent weapon.

Adding control AND speed to that list?

Agreed. Maybe one way to help fix it would be to increase the flight speed on the return trip. The initial throw speed could stay the same, but maybe increase the return speed by 100%. It would still take a while to get back to you, but only half the time it is now.

Isn't there a penetration mod in the works for Glaive or something?

Maybe there will be Glaive specific mods that will give you more options like these.

I myself agree that your manual return idea would make Glaive feel a lot more fluid. Sometimes I've been irked when it feels like the Glaive has bounced the farthest distance away after hitting only one guy, and then takes 10 million years to come back to me.

Wait... does the Glaive always return at the same speed? Or is it dependant on where you and it are after the initial bounce-off?

And with all that I still outkill anyone who uses the Glaive with a sword. The dps is extremely low. It rather go for a trip all around the room missing everything in sight after first hit than to come back to you immediately.

Infact, I kill a group faster with Glaive in hand than a person that just tosses it.

I'd like to toss the Glaive only without having to shoot to make up for loss of dps and to stop the bullets from killing my sentinel.

I say either double the speed, give make it return right away with the option of ricochet through a unique mod, or make the bounces hit a chain of enemies instead of random

i dont mind the current glaive speed and such, but just that... since its a multi-bladed disk, that can be thrown, and these blades are probably like... katana blade sharp, it should cut through enemies in my opinion... not bounce off of them...

i know theres probably going to be counter-arguments like "but they have armor/suits on so it makes sense that it bounces off" but then again you have sword/slashing weapons that cut cleanly through enemies......

+1 to this, I have always wanted the glaive to go through targets it slices in half or kills in one shot rather than bounce of them after there is not longer anything to bounce off, and being able to recall it mid flight would be incredibly useful.

If sustained DPS is your concern, why the heck are you using Melee to start with? Melee is TERRIBLE in terms of sustained DPS. All of the firearms do significantly more DPS than every single melee weapon, and it's almost impossible to totally run out of ammo for both your primary and secondary weapon unless you're either missing a lot or running the most ammo inefficient guns available for both slots, which is silly.

But no, the Glaive is super handy. I throw mine at enemies whenever I have to reload my weapon, and/or I'm fighting a beefy enemy, I'll stop shooting for the short amount of time it takes my modded Glaive to charge up and go flying to send it in their direction, as it does pretty good damage and saves bullets.

It's also handy for picking off single targets without shooting bullets at them, which can have good uses.

On top of this, the Glaive is actually capable of doing MASSIVE amounts of damage when thrown correctly. For example, if there is a line of infested charging you, it is wiser to throw the glaive at the ceiling, angling it so that it bounces down at such an angle as to put the enemies between you and it when it starts to return. The net result of this is the Glaive flying through every single enemy and nuking all of them. A similar trick applies to those missions where you have to destroy those mining drills, where you throw the glaive UNDER them and cause it to bounce into them repeatedly, usually killing them instantly.

You can also hit things in cover with it by bouncing it off the surroundings. Etc. Etc, you get the idea.

And in come the 'dps arguements' -_-

Anyway, Glaive is useful as was stated in a couple of the posts. Trying to use it as a normal melee weapon won't get you anywhere fast, tbh. It's more to support the weapons than run Hayabusa through an entire room of armed enemies and chop them down. lol

There are times that bouncing it around a corner can take care of an enemy with minimal issues for you. One thing I can say (for me anyway) is it's not that great when paired with Paris, unless you're using a rapid fire sidearm. Leaves you vulnerable at point blank otherwise, if you happen to have thrown it and gotten stuck in close range with several enemies. Truly seems to be the most situational of all the melee weapons, imho... but still very useful.

Some how you got the idea that the Glaive was useless from that post, how id you get that idea? And you notice how the Glaive in hand was compared to the Glaive when thrown so it's all about melee weapon damage, not overall weapon damage.

I think that there should be a couple mods for the glaive.  Maybe % to penetrate enemies.  Or % chance to search for enemies after bouncing.

Or just make Glaive more fun and damaging by adding some more control. For example, look at Captain America and how he directs his shield when he tosses it in Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
