Absolutly agree and as DE rebecca is the PR and has her own little section of the forums just for that(https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/forum/79-community-hot-topics/). Id say use it more.

I'm aware of this section of the forums I frequent it often.

Whenever there is a post there I'm on top of it.

In fact I quoted a post from the latest post in that section.

But that section is (almost) purely reactionary.  It covers the "hot topics" that we are talking about actively.
Often they don't go into much detail as to how they plan on changing things.  And when they post here it is:

"this is what we are doing"
not "This is what we think the problem is (We were thinking about doing this/We want to know if you think this is the problem too)"
or "We think there is a problem with this (what do you guys think?/This is what we were thinking)"

EDIT: WTF QUOTE WHYYYYYYY - my post is disappearing when I put quotes around this bit VVV
1) Hek and Gorgon Balance Outrage.
Hek will be buffed next Update. Gorgon is now working as intended.
2) Where is Optional Reset?
We are still working on it, please be patient.
3) Ash Shuriken Sucks!
Will be improved!
4) Ember's fourth ability sucks!
This has been reported with emphasis to Dev Team, will be reviewed.

What does improved mean?  What does reviewed mean?  What does buffed mean?

There is no dialogue here.  I am appreciative for this step towards communication trust me, its more than i get from 80% of the other game devs out there.  But mostly I see it as mostly them putting out fires though.  (Lol get it? Hot topic... fire...? I'll let myself out..)

In the most recent instance (as I stated in the OP) 5-6 topics were closed.  And almost all of the posts made about rhino were categorized under unconstructive and even went as far as to call them hyperbole.  Only a select "few" were read and taken serious I guess?  No one knows what posts since a vast majority of the topics were closed.  Closing topics without giving reasons why is bad.  It's almost as bad as deleting topics instead of closing them.  If we were making hot and bothered posts it was out of love.  We are all passionate about the game.  If something changes and we disagree with something we are going to give our opinions though.

Going to quote ArsVampyre:

I don't really know what kind of criticism you want.  You say you want constructive criticism, but it seems like you only want positive criticism.  I was listening to NPR recently while they were talking with researchers who'd published a book regarding Criticism, and they found that positive criticism is useful for when the person lacks confidence and needs support to continue developing their skills, but that without the more useful negative criticism, more experienced people being criticized can't improve.  People aren't going to like all the changes you make.  People have been talking about Rhino's Iron skin, what's wrong with it, and what to do about it for quite some time.  It seemed to me like there was a lot more useful suggestions around than just hitting it with the nerf hammer, but perhaps programmatically that's what made the most sense.  It's unfortunate though, because like I said above, reducing the effectiveness of a particular gameplay strategy reduces gameplay freedom, and that diminishes the final product.

I will not say I agree with any implications that DE lacks confidence if those thoughts were implied (I don't think Ars was either tbh) BUT! I would argue that most of the criticism since patch has been VERY negative.  But VERY VERY little of it was not constructive (IE: providing alternative solutions)

DE, again, I LOVE YOU.
But I would argue this case you got the two types of criticism confused..

EDIT: Also Rebecca - I love you in the non creepy way.  I'm not calling you out intentionally,  I'm beyond crabby when I have someone telling me I am doing my job wrong.  I think you do a wonderful job and I'm thankful for your hotline to the devs.  I have to tell you how that post made me feel.  Thats what people do in a relationship (I'm talking community manager -> community relationship.  Not a creepy way.)

thread necro. thanks.

Well considering that DE has released a statement on the exclusivity of Frost Prime BPs, but neglected to post it to their own forums, it seems relevant.
