NoeleVeerod
A clanmate of mine states that Hammershot is worth nothing, even for those weapons the damage output of which relies on critical hits. I'm not sure if he's right. I mean, I have been using it on weapons like Dread and Amprex and found the extra crit damage AND status chance a nifty addition. Do you believe that Hammershot is useless? Why? Why not?
UltimateSpinDash
I think it's fine if your weapon relies on both crits and status chance. I personally have it on my Boltor Prime, but that's mostly because I never removed that D polarity. I think I recently switched it with Cryo Rounds, but I don't use my Boltor Prime, so I can't tell. Evil_Brick
I've found (while using Warframe Builder) that for some certain weapons, Hammershot can actually be slightly more useful than other mods. But for the vast majority of weapons it isn't very useful.
Festinger
It's not useless if using it makes you happy. The DPS faction might disagree though.

TaylorsContraction
The damage bonus is 60%, you can put on a dual stat mod for the same damage bonus or a 90% elemental damage bonus mod. So yes it's useless. Edited June 1, 2015 by TaylorsContraction
DarknightK
It really depends on the weapon that your modding it with. Weapons with NO status chance will benefit more from Point Strike, which at the same max capacity drain, gives a 150% bonus to critical chance rather than Hammer Shot's 40%. However in terms of status chance, its definitely greater than Rifle Aptitude, which only gives a measly 15% increase in status chance (WHICH NEEDS TO BE REVISED, GET TO IT DE!) I can't remember off the top of my head which primaries have or don't have critical chance/status chance, but its fair to say that most weapons do in fact have both stats. It would pay off to install Hammer Shot on weapons that have a higher than average critical and/or status chance however.
4MostlyHarmless2
Well, if you're into min-maxing for Warframe builds, then Hammer Shot wouldn't be your cup of tea: it's a mod that delivers slightly more punch for two different stats, but doesn't deliver as well as other single-stat mods could. However if you're not really into min-maxing and prefer more well-rounded builds, then Hammer Shot is a pretty good mod to have on for that extra punch in critical hits or extra chance to proc a status. Hammer shot doesn't give crit chance, it increases crit *damage*, along the lines of Vital Sense. there are very few weapons that have both a high crit multiplier and status chance, so Hammer Shot will often be overlooked in favour of the more specialised mods. that said, I really have my hopes up for the Vectis Prime, as the base version boasts both reasonable crit chance/damage and status. (the problem with Vectis, though, is that if you want to use it for stealthy gameplay, you must "waste" a mod slot on Hush, which is where Hammer Shot would otherwise go.) Spikey844
I find it very useful on my Vectis since it has both decent crit damage and decent status chance. I still have other crit and elemental mods but this is an extra boost.
xxaaron5515xx
hammershot is definitely not a bad mod. I looked at the comparison of crit dmg it was 4.4x up to 5.6 or something along those lines. Thats an extra 120% of base dmg / elements. Although if you were to put an elemental mod on instead it would be 4.4x the elemental dmg. you would need about 3-4 elements to make this mod up to par with just putting a single element on. It may not be the best choice but its certainly not a bad choice. If you have base dmg + crit rate + vital sense + all 4 elemental mods it would leave you with 1 slot left. For bows im sure alot of people would fill that with firerate but for a gun like the soma hammershot would be a good filler and significantly increase your dps. shyguyk
If you have something with more then a 2.0 crit multiplier you could get use out of it. Or if you need a small status boost

elele
No it's not useless. Let the data show you: two Soma Prime builds (Serration, Split, Heavy Cal., two Crit mods, two 90% elemental mods): Build 1, no Hammershot, use one 60% dual stat elemental mod instead (because one 60% dual stat mod give more damage to Heavy Gunners than a 90% fire elemental mod, as proven in other tests): http://warframe-builder.com/Primary_Weapons/Builder/Soma_prime/t_30_22000000_132-1-5-133-6-5-137-0-10-140-3-5-141-5-5-150-2-10-159-4-5-265-7-3_137-7-132-8-150-16-140-9-159-9-141-11-133-11-265-7/en/2-0-65 1733.347TOTAL DAMAGE 26000.205BURST DPS 21224.657SUSTAINED DPS Build 2, Hammershot http://warframe-builder.com/Primary_Weapons/Builder/Soma_prime/t_30_22000000_132-1-5-133-6-5-137-0-10-140-3-5-141-5-5-150-2-10-153-7-3-159-4-5_137-7-132-8-150-16-140-9-159-9-141-11-133-11-153-9/en/2-0-65 1798.054TOTAL DAMAGE 26970.810BURST DPS 22016.988SUSTAINED DPS Edited June 1, 2015 by elele

PwnMissile
Only thing to note is that you can achieve more burst DPS and Sustained DPS if you were to replace hammer shot/high voltage with a speed trigger/vile Acceleration. This is true, however you have to take into account that increasing DPS through damage largely increases ammo efficiency while doing so through fire rate can actually harm it if there is a lack of trigger discipline, specially on a weapon like the Soma Prime. Back on topic, Hammershot isn't really a must have mod on any weapon I can recall and certainly not a popular one. It's far from useless though and pretty neat on some weapons that have both a decent crit and status chance, such as the soma prime for example. CataReverb
I use it on Amprex and Lanka... so yeah if it's reliant on both crit and status, there's better mods for each but there are worse nightmare mods at this point. CataReverb
AB? What's that? Or did you spell Stunning Speed wrong? Accelerated Blast. I use Stunning Speed on pistols when Quickdraw alone isn't enough, or status on the pistol I'm at is around 95% and I want to push it to 100% (I think one of my Tysis loadouts)
Don_T_Shoot
Some weapons make good use of it like the Amprex. I totally agree. I normally slot a Sinister Reach in my Amprex but sometimes I just want max damage and even better status, then Hammer Shot gets its time in the sun. Though I don't use Hammer Shot on any other weapon.
HyenaGrin
It's definitely a good mod for lower level play, when players don't have access to everything they might want. It is a single mod that can make a big difference in a number of weapons, and it can easily fill a gap in a weapon's mod loadout, it just gets overshadowed by more specialized mods once you have enough to fully pack a weapon. I found myself using it less and less, but there's a couple of weapons I keep it on.
ppButWhole
for example soma prime is a critical weapon, my soma prime has 93.1 physical damage with serration 10/10, heavy caliber 9/10, split chamber 5/5 with vital sense 6.6x multiplier, 6,6 x 93,1= 614, 46 critical damage, with hammer shot 8,4x critical multiplier and 8,4 x 93.1=782,4 critical damage, like i said soma is critical gun no need status so u can use only 2 elemental damage as +90%, and u got 167,6 elemental damage now 93,1+167,6=260,7 260,7 x 8,4 = 2189,88 critical damage with hammer shot build. Now without hammer shot: u can use 3 elemental mod so u get elemental damage 251,4+93,1=344,5, 344,5 x 6,6=2273,7 critical damage As results; with hammer shot: 2189,88 crit damage, without hammer shot 2273,7 crit damage, so u get +88,82 damage without hammer shot build and like i said status is useless for critical guns so if u wanna +80,86 more damage then use heavy caliber, serration, split chamber, vital sense, point strike, +90% elemental damage mods 3 times for every critical weapons (not bows) Edited June 2, 2015 by 20011011
