Do You Trust The Lotus?

From lurking on the forums and reading lore in game I have seen many tenno say they trust in the lotus and many others say that they do not trust her direction.

So to get a rough gauge on the split I want you guys to give a "yes" or "no" with a quick explanation why,

Personally no, I don't trust her because she has withheld so much information and that has forced many to seek out information on our own accord. If she is to guide us, first she must inform us.

*sigh* yes.  The "lotus is bad" hype comes from people who either want to look edgy, or who are so used to the reversal trope, over-used by BioWare and others, where a former trusted aide betrays the player.

Lotus is exactly what she says on the tin.

However, that doesn't rule out her being mind-controlled at some point.

I trust that she'll keep us alive.

I don't trust her in that we're doing the right thing necessarily.

EDIT: To give a simple explanation of why I think this:

We get every bit of our information from the lotus or from individuals whom of which the Lotus allows us to talk to. We have yet to see war torn colonists. We have yet to see why the Grineer are "evil." We have yet to see why corpus proxies are "bad."

We are in a bubble of controlled information. The fact that the Lotus is our only source of information and facts is suspicious alone.

As for why Salad V is so liked, he is the only character that the Tenno can relate to. The Lotus is almost guaranteed to be morally ambiguous. Vay Hek has that whole political thing not to mention enhancements. Mr. Danglers has his whole void thing. Vor wants to essentially assimilate everything into the void.

Salad, however, has only one goal: improvement. That goal can be achieved through improving corpus tech with Warframe tech. Getting infected. Getting cured. Etc.

Just like Tenno.

No.

The Lotus is obviously using some kind of mind control on the Tenno. Like when in the capture mission you drain something out from the victim while they are screaming, and the Lotus says something about the target being escorted somewhere. He's obviously not being escorted anywhere. That is not what's happening.

I bet that the infested are in reality innocent women and children, they just look like monsters to the Tenno.

Isn't that how the story starts? Someone tries to put some kind of a controller on the Tenno? Well, someone succeeded, it seems.

Doubt is the greatest enemy.

-Master Yi.

And so yes, Vor's talk, Alad V's work, many more, make you doubt your Lotus. Idk what's her intention, but I'll stand by anyone's side if they need my help (like Infested Salad V).

Why? Because I will do whatever I want to do. Why again? I'm a mercenary, I work for treasure! I'm no more than a Corpus Machine to ... wait that's Sagas Ruk's line. ABORT MISSION!

Dear op, did you not read the uptenth forum post on the same topic? Or did you feel that the other topic wasnt to your liking? Getting really tired of seeing the same damn post worded differently. The need to combine these treads, like flys at a BBQ.

It's not even a matter of having a viable reason to not trust the Lotus. All these people that say they don't probably just want her to be evil in secret so that they can be "cool nd edgeh". Won't be surprised if they all sport black and red Ash/Prime *cringes*

Why should we not trust her? Without her guidance, we would be destroyed or turned into a slave by either the Grineer or Corpus. Scott Cawthon said it best "Some things are better left forgotten... For now". Sure, Lotus might withhold certain pieces of information from us from time to time, but she has reasons. Perhaps we as a young Tenno just waking up would not comprehend certain things, maybe as a veteran Tenno we would be misguided by other things. Each Tenno is different after all, sometimes leaving out information that could misguide us is the best guidance the Lotus can give.

Sounds like Stockholm Sydrome to me ; )

Personally, as far as RPing and such goes, I find it reasonable to not trust anybody. Just kill and loot and use any help I get.

She woke up a bunch of amnesiac aliens in high tech armors and told them they were once a noble ninja warriors before sending them on murderous killing sprees for ideals they dont remember.

Sure why not.

I wouldnt be suprised if their history was fabricated by Lotus and actually much more heinous. For all we know, Lotus might just be manipulating ancient living weapons into not killing everybody by giving them culture.
