droid34
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this or if its intentional, but when the backpacks on the grineer seem to mess with their hit boxes. Its most noticeable for me when trying to melee enemies with them on since my melee attacks from behind don't seem to register even when using an orthos prime with primed reach unless I do a finisher. I've also tried with firearms, and I've shot directly into the backpack and nothing happened besides for spark showing that I hit the backpack. KirukaChan
I think those things are like the Sniper's Razorback. I advise shooting their users in the face.
Kaokasalis
Its a inflatable deployable cover called Blunt so it would kinda make sense that it blocks your attacks. Edited August 3, 2015 by Ory_Hara

KirukaChan
Do we really need it, when we are weapons of mass destruction combined with nigh-invulnerable abilities? Well, I mostly want to clog doorways with them so I can see how bad it screws with the terrible enemy A.I. in this game.

More likely than not, they would use it as cover. Either that, or just continue bumping their shins against the deployed cover.
