(PSN)l-Loui2-l
Deleting the update, redownloading does not fix it and the system firmware is the latest version. What can I do?
(PSN)excat_56
First thing I'd do is make sure your ps4 hard drive isn't full before you start it back up. Then, if it does freeze again, pause it for a while. They may have a lot of traffic on the your psn server right now. Give it 5 minutes or so and start it back and walk away from it, let it do its thing. Come back in 20 or 30 and see if it made any progress. Staring at it will only frustrate you even more! Went through it with the last update.

(PSN)mstortz
ignore the two posts above me here's what you do use google DNS whenever you find yourself unable to download an update go to your network settings and re-setup your internet connection set it up identical to what you have with one change under DNS settings use manual primary: 8.8.8.8 secondary 8.8.4.4 these are google's DNS addresses and they should work for the download go to your updates and hit that retry button First thing I'd do is make sure your ps4 hard drive isn't full before you start it back up. (PSN)SeekerLoki
Check to see how much free space your PS4 has left (Settings -> System Storage Management). I would aim to have more than 10gb free. How long have you let it sit at the preparing to download: 50% state? Mine sat there for a long time, but eventually moved on. If you have plenty of free space, try starting the download and let it sit for an hour. Good Luck!
chewbaccachris2
I had problems with 15Gb of space - cleared up space (100Gb) deleted the download and tried again and it had no problems the next time. It did do the 50% issue twice but a couple of deletes and restarts did sort it
