Weapon Level-Up Passives? Can We Get Them Back?

I'm asking because Update 8 has dropped and weapons still lack levelup passives. This is kind of annoying because:

1. The +Damage mods are all Uncommons, so grinding them takes forever, even on high level planets

2. +Damage is practically necessary for harder missions

3. It'd be nice if a Lv 30 weapon significantly outperformed a Lv 0 weapon if you had bad luck and didn't get any decent mods, instead of being stuck on Mercury FOREVER (well okay you can deal with Venus and Saturn, maybe Jupiter).

I still suggest what I did before: Weapons gain +10% damage/+10% crit chance/+10% critical damage every 3 levels, so they have a bonus of +100% damage/crit chance/crit damage innate at level 30. Nerf weapons damage mods significantly to make up for it (like 10% per level max, maybe even as low as 7.5% per level). There, an ultra-maxed Hornet Strike isn't actually as useful anymore (your DPS increases by a 'mere' 55% instead of 220%), someone who gets unlucky and doesn't find a core damage mod isn't as screwed, and everyone is happy.

Basically, grinding for mods is fun when it's optional, and a total chore when it's required. Please don't make it required. You did a fantastic thing returning passive levelups to Warframes, it'd be nice if you could do the same for weapons.

but... the entire thing is about mods.

its pretty obvious the whole system focuses on it. its not optional or mandatory. it IS the games progression at its core.

also mods allow you to find one of the thing you need then level it in a number of ways.

its pretty easy to get by. passive progression seems unnecessary and would make the game easier than it already is.

Yes, which is why they're dropped by RNG instead of deterministically found in such a way that you can get the mods you want all the time. Putting 'RNG' as your 'core progression' is an utterly awful idea, and DE realized that with Warframe passives. So yes, being 'about mods' is just an utterly awful excuse. Hell, let's take your argument to its extreme and see how absurd it is. Since everything's about mods, everything should be like Sentinels and utterly useless without mods.

You need mods to make Warframes walk, mods to sprint at all, mods to have shields or health, mods to attack with your weapons, etc etc. Core game mechanics (like 'getting stronger with level-ups', which is a core game mechanic in Warframe) should never be RNG-dependent. In this playerbase, there are enough people that there is a pretty good chance you'll get some unlucky bumpkin who only finds Loot Radar and Critical Chance mods or something similarly bad.

Also, I'm not sure how 'your maximum damage is actually lower now for pistols which everyone knows are the best weapons' makes the game easier than it already is for the guys who claim the game is easy (generally the people who have maxed out mods because they played for 200 hours in the easy credit days and farmed tons of Rare 10 fusion cores from Xini). It just makes the game less frustrating for new players because their weapons have better stats without mods, while players with maxed mods become slightly weaker to much weaker.
