News flash, we already have katanas, prime katanas and great swords in game, so what exactly is the new 'idea' here?

I think that the greatsword we have now is just the right size.  No need to make it just a slab of steel with a handle attached to it.

I shuddered at the sheer levels of spaghetti in this post.
We need variety, not Cloud Strife and jawponees spam.

Variety does not mean 50 barely different katanas and a rediculously oversized hunk of metal with a tiny handle on it.

To your point, DE is probably working in on adding in sidegrades. We already have many numerous sidegrades in each weapon category. Also, there's no short swords.

 

Two, if we added in your style, the problem is is that no one would take this game seriously, as it already has a set vague, unsettling and slightly (I don't know how to say it, like when there's just 3 big players in the entire universe) feeling.

 

Third, if you're going to call someone kid, at least spell right.

I for one, would like to see the addition of some kind of shield, maybe add it as a skin and have Rhino carry it on his back and make it cosmetic, but it would be nice. I would also be delighted to see some form of spear in the game, so you can melee and have a larger range without having to throw your weapon (Glaive), and if you were to jump down on top of an enemy, it would be a nice sight to see the spear slice right down their spine or some form of it.

uh... no? we already have katanas (it's called Skana, Skana Prime and a couple other longswords) and we don't need any giant slabs of metal on a handle, they just look silly, this isn't a fantasy MMO, this is a sci-fi Third Person Shooter so no magical s*** and don't go on about the Warframe abilities on that part, it's called SCIENCE! so those weapons would look WAY too out of place, there's a reason I don't play fantasy MMOs, because some of their weapons are too huge! weapons like Gram are your great swords here, and if you don't like it, well it's best said in a picture:
