Necrius
For me it wasn't boring, but frustrating - not only there're 2 things to babysit, they're also so flimsy that I couldn't solo even 4 waves of it. And whole space mission thingy should be about mobility and free space imo.

Jellytoad
Still a terrible issue Old thread, but it's surprising (and sad) that a 6 month old thread is still relevant
karpun34
Damn, I was on this type of Defense for ~20 times on rotation C and still didn't get this fkn blades on Onorix. None of them, really. I get a lot of another things, all from the list, BUT. NOT. EVEN. ONE. BLADE. Wut da hell is wrong with this random? Is it broken?
TheSixOfDiamonds
So I tried this out today, solo. I love Archwing overall. Even Exterminates, which seem to get bashed on for enemy spawning issues. It was a terrible experience for 3 main reasons: 1) Unlike normal Defense (Which I really get annoyed with already, I don't feel like I get to dictate the pace like in Sabotage or Capture), i had to run through what felt like the leftovers of the Jupiter Sabotage mission, to find 2 Shuttles separated by a wall with no clear or remotely safe passage between them. Normal Defense just has the elevator or a single hallway before your objective, why the awful, empty sprint to the Archwing objective(s)? 2) Because I was going in blind and alone, I had no idea just how fragile the shuttles were, so I tried playing it like a normal Defense, chasing down enemies. Those enemies proceeded to make my 1000+ shields null and void, and since my first attempt getting to the shuttle through the hazard wall left me with 95 health after getting hit by a tram or Cargo Container, so I died. Then i almost immediately get the notification that the shuttle "is taking heavy fire", and it's almost gone in 3 seconds flat. 3) There are 2 shuttles at the same time and one of me. I will say that yes, I was playing a multiplayer game solo so, yes, something like this would eventually happen. Nonetheless, this is the only pure defense mission, with two simultaneous objectives to defend (Not counting Interception, Excavation, or the Coolant option in Reactor Sabotage 2.0, since Excavation keeps dropping more Excavators, Interception doesn't rely on the health of the towers, and the Coolant option is just that, an option.) If it was Mobile Defense, this would not be an issue, but since the shuttle bays do not have a clear safe passage between them and the enemies can nuke them (and you) in a very short time, it is a major issue. Can our "undercover boss" try this mission out and see for himself? Or can someone just take a good look at it and see how it can be improved? Right now, the fact that I basically have to buy Kaszas, since this mission is nigh impossible for me to solo, has me basically not wanting to play Archwing at all. DE, you have made one of my Favourite game modes more fun (Sabotage 2.0)... can you guys make this bearable?
scalledcheramie
Just got 3 Corvas stocks in a row and this is the worst. The mission is adequately playable and can be soloed easily by spamming Thumper and never leaving the shuttle, but for gosh dang sake 45 minutes for a single loot piece is a nightmare compared to any other mission in the game, considering I'm getting the same part over and over. The amount of enemies could be halved or maybe the parts should be moved to rotation B but this'll never happen so I'd stick to the first solution. THIS TEDIOUSNESS MUST NOT GO ON nevermind it's 4 corvas stocks now. this game is the devil It's 9 corvas stocks in a row now. I think I might've died last week and got into the limbo called archwing defense. The duration itself is not a problem, like, 50 40-minute long Void survivals for a Saryn chassis felt absolutely fine, just like any other chore like that because I didn't need to constantly move and pay attention to a defense target that has less health than I do. It's extremely exhausting and nerve consuming and that's what makes it worse than any other mission in the game, not the duration and enemies' spawn rate. Of course it's doable and I can just shut up and go get gud and just keep completing it, but what for, 10th corvas stock? But of course who cares about a half a year long broken mission that hasn't been fixed once Edited April 4, 2016 by Ghost_Yo
-Temp0-
The worst of all is the "reward" system. Like for f sake, I can bear with arch interception for 4 rounds solo, but 20 waves of defense like that is just nope. **** it.
Datcoolguy
Honestly, i'm okay with the double shuttles thing because i discovered you can let one die, but even then the waves take way too long, like a single wave takes the same as an interception round, wich means you get x5 rewards on an interception
DarkFlameZealot
This mission is honestly one of the worst crap things DE has created. One, it has weak as all hell defense targets. 2500 hp overall? Cool, let me be forced to draw 100% aggro so they don't die in 4 shots. Penta rangers and the Box pricks are strong when it comes to hitting a target the size of the bloody moon. Archwing Mobile Defense was decent, but this is a whole new level of: Go F*** yourself if you play solo. Neptune's archwing defense should be removed and replaced with archwing exterminate or sabotage like Jupiter's. Thanks for making the fastest way to Hyena Pack brutally unobtainable.... Yaohru
I can't describe Archwing Defense any way other than soul crushing. It is the most tedious, poorly designed, unbalanced, slow, unpleasant game mode I have ever suffered through. Most Archwing missions I've played have been okay at best. I didn't hate them but I much preferred all the other, superior content Warframe had to offer so I didn't pay them much mind. Even for defense, I only ever played to 5 waves for map completion, and forgot about it. Today I went to wave 20 in order to help a friend who was trying to farm weapon parts. I had no idea it was this bad. It took us over an hour to get through 20 waves, and shortly after wave 15 I guess a Corpus gave a mean glance to one of the stupid rectangles we were supposed to be defending, and it crumpled in seconds. This meant all the time we spent on the mission was reduced to one RNG reward for the hour we put in, instead of two. Not only are the rectangles (calling the defense targets that from now on) stupidly weak, but you've got an extremely limited area to move, with a tiny map and tons of obstacles in the way, but you get to endure thick enemies who get caught on everything, forcing you to hunt them down, bumping into everything along the way. The amount of crap piled into the level also means that shooting enemies is a colossal pain. Any archwing enemy not directly in front of you is tiny enough as it is (and don't even get me started on how stupidly teeny the Locust Drones are), and trying to shoot them while they flit around behind all the rubbish littered about the level is a nightmare. The one good thing I'll say about this mission is that it does look great. It does genuinely look like the inside of a big space-ship, with walkways and engine rooms and vents etc. Unfortunately, it's an absolute chore to play in. This mission has single handedly killed the small amount of enthusiasm I had for archwing. I hope to god I never have to play an archwing mission ever again.
