[Mission] Evacuation – You Want To See Colonists? Save The Colonists (Think Endless Hijack)

Also, did I ever mention how much anonymous followers both excite and annoy me?

On one hand they could be DE, taking personal interest in my idea and following to make a note of it, but doing so anonymously because they don't want to show open support.

On the other: it's most likely 100% not. But the ambiguity of the matter infuriates me.

Same but i refuse to believe they would follow any topic, they're way too busy. Rebecca and Megan maybe but still highly unlikely.

Aye, I say "DE" but "Becca/Meg" is about what I actually meant. MAYBE Scott or one of the other "special announcement" DE posters.

But I'm glad that I"m at least not alone. Seriously, who follow concepts anonymously? It's the internet and a screenname - it's ALREADY anonymous!

Opinion

We could run out with the standard u put up(might need sleep)

How bout we move from settlement to settlement?

The way I see it certain buildings could recycle from time to time, like how Excavation locations do. Not like IMMEDIATELY afterwards, mind you, say every 5th rescue the one you did first will become re-available for help.

The idea IS that this is endless, so that would in fact have to be a given at one point or another. I should probably make mention of it in the OP, thought it seemed second-nature to think that for me (then again, I made the idea so that doesn't account for much).

Alright, updated for clarity based on Ninja's comments... Also try to figure out why I can't see Institute's post... There it is.

Morec0, this is so well done! I hope it gets added, yet I have my doubts about whether DE sees this. Yaknow, we can't have the story progress, remember?

Ehhhh, while I disagree with that statement, even to play the role of one agreeing with it: that depends on the kind of progression. At hand. What does this really change that is... game-altering, in a way that would "progress the story"?

One could argue us doing the Hijack missions is supposed to be story progression, but it changes very little if anything at all - and due to Vay Hek's presence in those missions it's one of the few that's actually well-tied-into a greater narrative.

There will ALWAYS be more colonists, there will always be more people that need rescue. This gives a sense of us truly being out to help people (or simply to claim the stuff they give us for doing so, depends on your Tenno interpretation) and gives us a sense of the larger world outside of our Liset and Relays.

This needs to be here, even if it is concept of a rebell. But it is still awesome.

I remember that thread!... Not sure if it NEEDS to be here, though, given my outlook on what the visual of the Colonists ought be (see page 3) and the general idea behind I consider these guy's as being unarmed and helpless and the like, but I appreciate the nostalgia none the less.

You know those corridors blocked by energy barriers in the top floor of the Relay? Maybe we could use those unused space as a place of temporary refuge for the civilians we saved from the Evac mission. Maybe from there we should be able to see children, as a way to compensate for the lack of their appearance in the mission.

Also, would this mission feature a "Mission Success" cinematic where a dropship (either Tenno, Corpus, Grineer or independent aesthetic design) lands and picks up the civilians and flies up to space? You know, kinda like the Corpus Hijack mission on Europa where your Liset arrived and carried the vehicle using its tractor beam after you successfully escort the vehicle to the LZ safely.

Aye, but less in cinematic form and more in it would just happen, to continue to let the players play. The colonists would get on the evacuation ship, it would take off, and then disappear somewhere behind a cliff or building or something while a new one came down for people to be loaded up onto. Basically just resetting itself.

And yeah, the top floor of the relay (or the one beneath it) COULD be a cool place for unaffiliated people to hang out, though I'd think there'd also be plenty of good uses to be gotten from the rooms aside from just flavor looks.

I almost forgot: Since you wrote in Page 3 that these civilians would look more or less like the Generic Rescue targets, would they wear masks that cover their faces (male) or just that weird visor(?) that only leave their mouth uncovered (female)? Or would you show the players their (randomly generated) faces and hair?

I was thinking the typical helmeted-facemask look. Differences in skin design - like camo for Earth, sand-weathered for Phobos - could be added in for sure, and I honestly wouldn't be horribly against maybe the Corpus-affiliated ones having a more Corpus-look to them (like gnasher talked about a page back). But there should DEFINITELY be randomly-spawned addons to them like backpacks, Syandanas, pouches, and the like that would give them a little flavor.

Whether their mouths are showing or not could just be part of the appearance RNG.

That kid's hand is doing some slender man sh*t.

And i just noticed there's a white spot between the kid and the adult where it should be transparent . FAK

Not seeing the hand thing.

And huh, I just thought that was part of his clothing (like a poncho or something).

It looks great to me as well.

It got me thinking. How far could the normalmap be pushed on the models?

I am thinking uniforms, civilian clothing etc.

Normalmap? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with this terminology.

Arch, stop talking 3D to the peasants, they don't understand.

Rembmer; Simple words.
