Droffset's Workshop

Hi all, this is only my second post in these forums.  Warframe is awesome, I've been playing a little too much for the past month.  I like to make stuff, so I'm pretty happy right now.

Anyway, this is where I'll post work in progress pictures of stuff.

First up is the Niri Syandana:

The inspiration is fish and my favorite kind of sushi, Nigiri.

I'l do the texturing next, it's not the most fun part for me to be honest, but I'll give it a go.  I want to have a sort of pearlescent or moss on metal kind of look, and am open to suggestions.

Also I'm looking at various bone chain ideas for the flowing cloth bit:

1. Possbly too floppy if the joint chain decides it wants to hang down straight instead of staying curved.  The local rotation axes are oriented to the origin so maybe it can get lucky.

2. Will possibly create messy deformations when vertices far away from the bone do extreme rotations

3.  This might work, it mixes the first two ideas.

4. Not pictured, I might replace the tail with a regular rectangular plane with the tail as alpha channel and normal map.

Thanks, hope you like it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

This is currently still in progress, here's a quick pic.

I've also made some simple PNG tint masks to try out colors and shades, useful when you need to just plug something in.  Find them here in the warframe folder:

They look like this:

Also you'll find some basic color textures in the 2D/colorSquares folder.

Cheers, please let me know what you think.

Looking cool man. I don't think you need, or get to make your own bones/rig. From the looks of the tech specs, DE use floating joints and distribute them as they fit best.

Thank you for feedback!

More tintmask tests.  The source files are all in the google drive folder.

It's a bit abstract but I'm starting to understand what is happening with the alpha channel and how it is used to reveal layers.

Here's the latest.  I'm kind of happy with how the texturing is going, need to do some normal mapping, fix up the spec, and craete a tintmask to allow for user recolouring.

I'm worried that it doesn't fit the warframe biotech style, but I like it for what it is.
