LuckyCharm
Hey everyone, I seem to have gotten the hang of using substance painter for painting warframes but when it comes to weapons... that's where my mapping goes crazy. If anyone out there knows.. How do you keep the program using normal maps that are 1024x512 or that sort of rectangular shape. Whenever I go to export, regardless of what texture size i've imported, it always exports as a square texture. This is perfectly fine for warframes as they all use square textures, but for the weapons we were supposed to use half squares from what I read. So the question is.. How do you export maps to be less than square?
-CM-Sephe
Under TextureSet settings, go to size, click the lock icon to unlock the ratio and select 2nd size as appropriate to change the ratio, and then when exporting your maps, use document size. -CM-Sephe
Forgot to mention, a good tip is to export at double the size and resample down to the size that will be used, for example the max size for warframes is 2k, so export at 4k, and resample down to 2k. Hope this helps.
