DirtyIrishman
I'm a bit confused on how gaining affinity works, so I'm hoping someone can explain it to me a little better. I know that when I use a specific weapon that I gain affinity with it, but at what point do I gain affinity with that weapon? Does it happen when I shoot an enemy, or when I kill them? If I shoot an enemy a bunch of times then finish them off with my sword do I only get affinity for my sword? Also how do you gain Affinity for your Warframe? sambarpowder
It's all kinda screwed up at this point, and the numbers vary, so don't look for an absolute answer. I'm in the dark about this too. I know that the warframe gains affinity regardless of power use, and that melee receives a lot less than it should.
PanderBeers
I believe you gain affinity when the white affinity (exp) bar flashes over your warframe or weapon in the HUD. That being said - it looks like you get affinity on kills, regardless of whether it's you or your team that gets the killing blow (that's why you can see the affinity gained on a recently killed enemy you didn't touch). So if you have your primary out when enemies are dying, you get more affinity for your primary. That would explain - I think - why we get so much less affinity for our melee weapons... because they aren't "out" when all the enemies are dying... unless you get the killing blow on an enemy with them. Possibly in the end of mission results screen - the blue regular affinity gained is the amount you gained through kills... which is why the numbers for warframe, primary/secondary (depending on which you had out) are so high compared to melee. The orange bonus affinity is what you gained through hits on target -- so if you used your melee to hit a lot of targets but didn't get any killing blows, you'll have a handful of orange bonus affinity but no blue affinity for your melee weapon. DirtyIrishman
Well the blue bar is supposed to be how much affinity you already have at the end of the mission, while orange represents bonus affinity though I have no idea what bonus affinity is or how you get it. I went through an entire mission never using my guns, just melee, and barely gained any affinity for my melee and still gained bonus affinity for my primary. Tauxi
Snip. :3 This makes sense. It's also not a bad system for XP. So is this true or...?
