"Power armour?" Annika's pen hovered over the page of her notebook, eyebrows raised as her mind raced and whirled. "Are you certain she failed on that front? After all, I'm fairly sure our warframes could be described as power armour. And mine certainly has neural interfaces, otherwise it would be unable to channel my powers." She made a note in the margins to talk to Alad.

"I'm not sure she failed, for all I know of it, she never got to have what she wanted out of it, heck, that beefed up guy in his batterie powered armor could be one of her results." I look straight at Annika. "Although she prefers mobility over brute strength it could be the end result of one base project they left in a corner and sol to see what happens. And as far as our armors are concerned, we'd need to ask Alad if they were the ones providing him the resources he used or if he was creating most of it himself." I look over to the notebook she uses amazed at how fast she had already filled multiple pages.

That could means good things. Wyrm was exceptional at their craft. They could probably crash their coms and have the Lasrians leech out their own bandwith by downloading all the internet and broadcasting...Dubious content all day. From hundreds if not thousands of miles away; But if they got caught...Jean had shivers thinking of it.

By continuing to search the computer, Jean would stumble upon some locked files, some password locked, some almost looking glitched shut. Eventually she'd find an eye icon, which would lead her to a chat room called Cerberus'_restingplace. It looked empty at first glance. Jean hesitated but ended up clicking on the icon and entering the chatroom. After a while of inactivity, a message would pop up in the blank text box.

>we can see you
>Hello then.
>Hello. Since you're here, you must've passed the test. Right?
>I would assume so. No one told me, but I would likely be unable to contact you if I didn't, correct?
>You could've just raided one of our homes and stolen our hardware. That's not beyond Anyo's people
>Huh. Didn't quite consider that. Not sure what it says about me.
>Who really knows? Anyway, let's start with the basics, truth always floats to the surface eventually. Who should we refer to you as?
>Just call me Dragonfly.
>...
There was a considerable pause before the next reply.
   >Alright. Turns out you're the VIP... awkward...
   >Give me sec while I move you to another room.
   >don't think I need to say this, but don't try anything stupid. We can fry your system any second.

A couple minutes after, the chat room abruptly closed. The icon was now renamed to Refuge_of_the_smart. Entering it, she'd see a similar chat room with names this time, including her own name now showing up as she responds.

>TwoHeadedCerb: Aaaand they're here.
>Stretch: holy sh!t
>Fetch: Ay! Hope you're satisfied with the delivery!
>Stretch: sh!t just got real
>TwoHeadedCerb: I'll let the others know you're here.
>Fetch: How'd you like the hardware sis?
>Stretch: wait its a she ?
>TearShade: Head out of the gutter Stretch...
>Dragonfly: Hello. Pleasure to meet you, I suppose!
>Stretch: hi
>Fetch: Pleasure's all mine. We met already, remember?
>Stretch: glad to have you with us
>TearShade: Hello.
>TwoHeadedCerb: Enjoy your stay, Dragonfly.
>TearShade: Didn't think you'd join us tbh.
>Dragonfly: Why so? Oh, and some of my allies kind of want to know how you are? Not personally, not if you don't want to, but as a faction I guess?
>Stretch: we are freedom incarnate !
>Fetch: We're just one big family.
>TwoHeadedCerb: It kind of varies... but we have good intentions.
>TearShade: Guess I stuck a bit to the rumours concerning your kind... no offense.
>TearShade: We're just a bunch of nerds that actually do sh!t.
>Stretch: lol speak for yourself
>TwoHeadedCerb: Hex knows how to sum us up, but they're kinda busy atm. They went through quite the trouble to contact you Dragonfly.
>Dragonfly: I see. I'll gladly relay that to them. Would you require me to play the part of mouthpiece?
>Dragonfly: BTW, could you try and have a chat with Wyrm? Yes, that one if you're wondering. They're that great. ; )
>Dragonfly: Anyhow, they...Might be pissed and want to try something reckless. They might listen to you as insiders. or at least give them tips?
>TearShade: Did you just say Wyrm?
>Stretch: wtf
>TwoHeadedCerb: Holy...
>TwoHeadedCerb: I mean... they'd need to contact us. Or, well, Hex should handle this interaction. You were easy to find since you were literally here in Lasria.
>Fetch: Wait, does that mean they're in Lasria too?
>Fetch: Don't answer that. Sorry. Not our place to know. ^^'
>Dragonfly: Uh...Was the name not enough of an indication? 😕 Anyhow, my fear's that they end up here, yes.  Had a chat with them and they ended up cursing heavily. And then they DC'd hastily.
>TearShade: Someone's mad...
>TwoHeadedCerb: Geez, the government's in for one hell of a work week.
>Fetch: Serves 'em right. Can't wait to see legends rise against evil in action.
>TearShade: I dunno guys... I know the military are asses, but proper, actual, legitimate cyber atttacks could disrupt the border patrol.
>Stretch: again with this shade
>Fetch: So what?
>TearShade: The infection could spread.
>Fetch: Spread leads to unwanted attention, which leads to exposition. If the outside world sees truth slip through the cracks, that's only better.
>TwoHeadedCerb: Actually... I can see where Shade's coming from. People could get hurt.
>Dragonfly: So, any address I could give them? Also, thread on eggshells. Wyrm's probably still angry as fück right now.
>TwoHeadedCerb: Right. We'll send you a folder with contact info. We have to keep it secure, since Hex themselves would like to talk with Wyrm I bet, like they did with you.
>Stretch: lol eggshells?
>TearShade: I just hope they'll listen.
>Fetch: It's Hex. Our voice of revolution. I don't see how they couldn't.
>TearShade: Ugh, why do they have to be offline at a time like this? How bothersome...
>Fetch: Anyway, don't worry about it sister. If their wrath won't be calmed, it'll be amplified.
>TearShade: That's not reassuring F...
>Dragonfly: Here, use that data to open contact. Also, tell them Fibonacci's sending his greetings. He loves the flowers in summer.
>Stretch: ok?
>TwoHeadedCerb: Will be done. Anything else you need Dragonfly?
>TearShade: You could help us, put your skills to use.
>Fetch: Patience sister. I reckon Dragonfly needs our help more than we need hers at the moment.
>Dragonfly: Lucky you! I'm offering my services, and the special 'apocalypse now'  tarifs are now set. Get an IT expert for the measly price of 0.00 euros the hour, plus the satisfaction of having done something useful! Seriously though, feel free to point me at problems. Will work on them whenever I'm not busy trying not to die. 😉
>Dragonfly: Alright, follow the string of data to find Wyrm. When you're not busy doing saving-Lasria-and-possible-the-world things, obviously. Oh, two things I'm looking for answers about...We got a spot booked on a plane, message to the outside world. Fretted by this guy, Anyo if I remember right. Kind of looking for intel on that right now.
>Dragonfly: And well, we got that plane IOU through playing poker of all things. A lady called Shikari helped us, got the same issue we have. She gave us a major hand, but when we got to fallback point, she just wasn't there. So I'm kind of worried I guess? Any info would be appreciated.
>Fetch: So that's why you were in the casino. Stealing right from under the king's nose. Not even Wolf could pull that off.
>TwoHeadedCerb: A plane? There is only one that regularly comes in and out of Lasria. Lemme just dig through my files.
>Stretch: ok gtg guys was fun bye
>TearShade: Shikari? Doesn't sound Lasrian. If she's one of you, we haven't identified her yet. Hex may know more, but I'll look into it.
>TwoHeadedCerb: Got it! Planned date of arrival in 3 days at exactly 7AM at Larunda's national airport. Time of departure 5 PM the same day. Cargo is stored for safekeeping in a warehouse west of the Capital until the day of arrival, moved onto the airport and then onto the plane after decontamination. Cargo: unknown. Costs: unknown. Contributors: Anyo Corp., Pinical Sequence, Old Loka, Sakuraba, The Lasrian Government, and a couple unnamed entities. Security: high.
>Fetch: What do you plan to do Dragonfly?
>Dragonfly: Live, keep living, do my best to not have to kill people. Help those who need it whenever possible. Try and get home.
>TearShade: You want to intercept the plane, don't you?
>TearShade: I should've guessed... can I at least suggest sneaking in?
>TwoHeadedCerb: I guess that's feasible... sneak into the cargo at the warehouse, and they'll bring you straight to the plane.
>TearShade: I bet Wolf could help with that. His services don't come cheap though.
>TwoHeadedCerb: Eitherway, gives us a call whenever you need something. We know how to contact you, so don't worry about that.
>Fetch: I wish you luck, sister.
>Dragonfly: Same to you.

"Then I'll leave you in charge of the supplies for our mission. There's a mall if you keep heading the east. It's no doubt been scavenged, but there might be something left, places ordinary people couldn't get to." Hayden suggested "And... try to not draw any attention. Sightings of Tenno would bring the military closer on our trail."

"Got it boss, will let you know my progress when I get there." said Tara, heading in the direction that Hayden indicated. Along the way, she poked around the ruined shops to see if there was anything worth taking but it was as Hayden noted, scavengers would have gone through them already and for the most part, they were quite thorough. All she got out of the shops en route was disappointment.

Still, there was the mall to look forward to and that was full of promise.

And pushing his personal matter aside for now, they needed their leader to decide a plan. As an Agency clean up man, spec op, and sometimes even filling the commando role, he's more than qualified. It is up to the rest of the Tenno to gather information and resources.

With that, Tara continued on in her journey, keeping her head on a swivel and sticking to the shadows and the walls for cover and concealment. By following Hayden's instructions, she got to the mall without too much trouble, both in terms of difficulty getting there and time taken to get there. What she wasn't expecting however was the sheer size of the building itself. It was as big a mall as any of the large malls she had seen back home in the US except that it was quite different architecturally. For instance, it has more in common with a castle than that of a modern mall, being quite closely based on the GUM state department stores in the former Soviet Union. There's no doubt that the mall would've been a good place to go to before the collapse from the infection but that's no longer the case since a good portion of the windows were either broken or boarded up, some of the walls that did not look structural were collapsed or broken into via blunt force or explosives and the lack of maintenance courtesy of the outbreak was showing on the concrete face.

"That sure does look welcoming..." thought Tara as she approached the building, circling it in order to find a point of entry that seemed safest.

Once before, this mall would've been full of people, shelves full with good quality products, personel working daily, like any other mall. Now it's another exhibit of the effects of a nation wide panic, an epidemic, and survival. It seemed every side of the building had an entrance, each one broken into if it wasn't open beforehand. The panic must've happened during opening hours. The mall is empty now, powerless, save for a few sections where someone must've restored it, either for light or to get through somewhere. Some stores were closed by thick, metal shutters, locked both mechanically and electronically. Not even a crowbar could help with stores who invested in this kind of security.

But the place wasn't completely empty. Echoes ocasionally eminated from the halls, origin unknown. It might be some of the victims there, it might be survivors. Eitherway, should she approach despite Hayden's wishes, she would stumble onto the latter. Scavengers. Wearing black dirty hoodies, backpacks full filled with scrap, and weapons. One had a rifle, the other had a pistol. They were having trouble with one of the store shutters, trying to get through with some equipment they brough along, a crowbar and metal cutters. They were visibly having a really hard time doing so.

"Phew... cyka... this sucker won't budge..."
"It better does... my back is starting to hurt..."

They seem too busy to notice the Tenno, and it may be better if it stayed so.

Annika nodded at that, still scribbling. Anyone trying to read it would probably find it somewhat illegible, between the fast pace and numerous acronyms. She'd go over it later and write it out properly, or find a computer and type it up.

"Last two for now. Do you know where any of their facilities are, even roughly, and what sort of security do they have?" She'd flipped to a new page for this. It was important enough to be its own section, and she needed room in case of needing to expand the list.

I ponder, thinking and going through all I knew once again.

"The best I can give you is just an assumption based upon how Philia rambled about these bases. They fancy having three wings." I draw a U shape in front of me. "To divide working places, and use the central area for training and tests. I know that since Philia sometimes complained about how long these architectural were when she had to go from on to the other and the central ground was occupied. There are also lots of underground constructions below, but aside from that I can't tell you much more. As for security I have litteraly no idea."

I stop and sigh turning to look at Sereena.

Annika joted down Cyriann's answer then paused for a moment, the end of the pen in her mouth. She mulled over it for a moment, then glanced back up at the two in front of her.

"Thank for that. If I think up any more questions I'll come and find you," she said, closing the notebook and standing. "I'll leave you be for now." The last words were somewhat awkward. She had all but grabbed him by the collar and sat him down after all. She left the common room, heading back upstairs to the armoury. She wanted to read over the notes that Alad had on her warframe, and perhaps try it on again, give it a proper shake down. She was going to be entrusting her life to it after all, and so she needed to know it intimately.

I sigh, getting slightly closer to  her. "I don't know if they are over what we can handle... But there is one thing I know for sure, if we run into them, it won't be as simple as it is with the Lasrian." I let my mind reeling, trying to get a few of my apprehensions out. "The Lasrian army has fought us, Hayden even more, on a number of accoasions, they know what we can do, Sakuraba only does so through reports I suppose, so there are two options, either they take us lightly and we have a chance to set things into a status quo, or they take us as major threat and then..." I stop, feeling awfully gloomy, I try to give a false reassuring smile. "But I also only know through rumors in a way, maybe I'm just over-estimating them."

A tug hits me on the back of the mind, not a real hit, but clear enough. "Cut it out, you are going to get her worried again." He says to me.

They seem too busy to notice the Tenno, and it may be better if it stayed so.

When she entered the mall and came upon the two scavengers while staying in the shadows, Tara knew she had to make a decision. Should she do as Hayden said and avoid all human contact? It seemed like the logical thing to do because people were still afraid of the Tenno at large, just as they would fear the unknown. The Tenno, as it stands, are seen to be the same as the normal, garden-variety technocyte infested creatures given human form. However, that clashed with Tara's own desire to have the world accept the Tenno as they are. To quote a certain Cyndi Lauper song, she wants to be the one to walk in the sun and not be hidden away from the rest of the world, having to constantly hide in the shadows.

Going with her own instincts and wishes, she decided that she would reveal herself and help the two scavengers... if they don't attack her that is.

Whistling out to them to get their attention, she approached them with her guns withdrawn and her hands up.

"Need some help?" she asked in her accented Lasrian.

Turns out there well be more to talk with Alad about. Much, much more.

Upon scaling the ladder, Annika would be greeted with the sight of the armoury. It looked same as ever, with Alad's continuosly expanding research, the man himself standing at the other end of the room, writing down more and more notes. But his experimentation has just expanded into territory he should not have threaded on. The Warframe of Nyx, modified and mutated beyond recognition. Where the surface once looked like armour, fabric and metal, it was now technocyte flesh and bone. But it had symetry, order, like a well tailored suit made of flesh. Most notably the helmet had lost it's major weakpoint, the horn enhancing her phsychic abilities, now bent more backwards. If it weren't for some remaining key features, the Warframe might've been unrecognizable. But Nyx knew it was hers.

The second the whistle reached their ears, they looked at eachother before turning around, weapons drawn at Tara. A couple seconds later, they sighed and the firearms were lowered.

"Jesus... don't sneak up on people like that. We could've blasted you off like those muties..." said one of them. They both were wearing bandanas over their mouths, and one had sunglasses masking the rest of his facial features.
"Yeah, thanks for the offer, but... this is our haul, so we ain't sharing." spoke the other "Finders keepers n' all. So, you can... run along now..."

Upon closer inspection, they had pretty good break-in equipment. Unfortunately, it was clearly not enough to get through the security measures, but they're trying anyway. Typical Lasrian determination. Bulls that find breaking through a wall much more tempting than simply going around it.

I chuckle. "I think we'll need some help from the others for that." I pause a moment shaking my head and smiling. "I think it is going to be fun to see everyone's faces when we casually ask how we could have a room for us two." The atmosphere is more light hearted, and since we had sometime to us waiting for Hayden's directions I decide to ask her one thing.

"Do you think you could play something, it the violin you got from Alad ? Since we have time to share." Simple yet so important, music always shows who a person is in more ways than talking or knowing one's past can do.

It took Annika a moment to notice the changed armour, as her first glance upon entering had been directed towards the locker that contained her rifle. It was a habit, one drilled into her. Hell if she was sticking to it completely, she'd have her rifle on her or within arms reach at all times. Then again, she was 'on base' currently, so it was proper that it was locked away. Her eyes flicked to the other side of the room, glanced briefly at the changed warframe as she searched for her own, and promptly did a double take.

She blinked.

Then again.

"ALAD!"

The name was part shout, part scream, part growl. All of it promised pain unless explanation was rapidly forthcoming.

The stamp of combat boots charging towards said scientist probably added to said promise. Unless Alad was very, very fast, he would find himself pinned to the nearest wall by his throat, and facing a pair of , quite litearlly, blazing blue eyes

Sereena seemed to really perk up at the mention of a violin. "Wait he owns one of those?" She asks as she already gets up on her feet. "Right, guess I will have to ask if I can play on it," She thinks out loud as she starts running her mind through where Alad could be. Her thoughts where scattered by the shouting of the name of the exact person she wanted to look for. "... That doesn't sound good." She says as she quickly moves to the ladder and climbs up to the upper deck.

Eversince Alad was brought upon the liset, he never could find his peaceful way of study and research. It was the same when he had to work in an unfamiliar environment. Twitchy, always looking behind his back, reacting at every sound. He found it annoying, broke his charm he says. But in this case it might've just saved him from getting something else of his broken.

The scream chilled him to the bone, but instinct took over. He knew who all that anger, piercing the back of his skull, was directed towards. Quickly turning around, scalpel in hand, he was backing up from the blue eyed demon approaching him rappidly, until the wall stopped his retreat.

"S-stay way!"

A man of his posture and character hardly looked threatening with such a tiny weapon in hand, and the horror was evident on his tattooed face. Perhaps he had just doomed himself further by this act of self defense, should it give the Tenno more of an incentive to break something important.

Speaking of Tenno, the First, who was still sitting next door and organizing thoughts, became vitness to the powerful shout. Dropping everything at hand, he rushed over, reaching the doorframe just in time to pay vitness to what happens next as well.

The scalpel had precisely zero effect on the charging woman who, with practised effort, disarmed the scientist of his pathetic weapon (not gently), before grabbing him by the front of his shirt and hauling him up the wall to bring him to eye level, placing the two nose to nose.

"What the fuçk did you do to my armour?!" The words were transmitted both vocally and telepathically, for once Annika's rage on full display. The normally tightly controlled woman looked almost wild eyed, nostrils flaring, platinum hair almost reflecting the sapphire glow in her eyes. The nodules under her shirt were also flaring, and could be faintly seen through the cloth.

Dmitri also heard the shout from Annika and quickly proceeded to join Hayden, yelling to Annika as she cornered Alad like a dog, "Annika! Easy tovarish!" he called out as he tried to get between Nyx and Alad with concerned look on his face, he was sure his iron skin can handle Annika and he had the idea to just think nonsense to distract his thoughts to prevent her reading his mind.

He looked to Alad somewhat with a concerned frown to what the hell he did, he made a note to take a look at his own armour.

I follow Sereena having myself heard a faint sound but as we arrive at the ladder I clearly hear Annika's voice, or maybe more of a growl at that point.

"Let's go up." I don't hesitate following the ladder to reach the armory I then see the problem Annika, flaring quite literally her anger on Alad.

Questioning what had happened was not to be done, once again my hearing had surprised when heard her question, yet there's one think I'm sure of, Annika is angry, while she usually is always calm and composed like Hayden. Meaning things could go very bad, very fast.

"Annika calm down, let him explain himself." I'm not even sure she will hear my words as I see Dmitri immediately separating them.
