Right now I have 2 electric mods, both at 25%, yet one of them does 11.88dmg and the other is at 11.99dmg. Both of these are used on my Hek wich has a base damage of 144 yet, 25% of 144 = 36. The game gives each mod a value, which has more precision than is displayed in the "+25% damage". This means you may actually have a +25.1% damage mod, but you can't see it unless you look at the effect(which is pretty much always wrong for damage/elemental mods as it doesn't use the number it's actually working off unless it's the first tree damage node). As for the HEK, the Strun and Boar suffer the same. If you install a mod, you have to know the damage on each pellet. Strun is 10 pellets@12 damage base, Boar is 5 pellets@12 damage base. Damage/elemental is applied to each pellet. Rounding affects them to a large degree(Putting a +2% AP mod on a level 1 Strun yields no results, as none of the pellets do enough damage to get past rounding) The effective damage calculation for shotgun mods/nodes are only good for seeing the difference between two mods that show the same percentage increase. Sefi, you are wrong. Simply dead wrong. Stop talking please. edit:Note for clarifaction. Wrongness on three levels. 1)Elemental mods add a percent of your normal damage. So if your normal damage is 25*1.1*1.1*1.1*1.1*1.1(all five tree damage nodes)*1.2*1.2*1.1(two +20% mods and one +10% damage mod)=63.77, a +25% of any element would be 15.944. You will not see this number because 2)Upgrade screen is broken. Damage nodes/mods only work off base, no matter how many are present. Elemental nodes display as if you had a normal damage of 10, and display a normal damage of 0. 3)Play the game, not the upgrade screen. These facts are apparent if you ACTUALLY SHOOT SOMETHING. edit:Oops, point to you, the Hek actually uses a 25 base damage value for generating the elemental damage tooltip, which is however obviously incorrect at there is no number of pellets that would add up to 176 or 144 with 25 base damage pellets. editeditedit:The Hek fires 8 pellets @18 damage per unranked. UkyoSonoda Posted January 21, 2013 Share Posted January 21, 2013 I've noticed similar discrepencies in other mods as well and some of them are more than just a visual display glitch in the weapon tree.
