Charge Speed

So, let's start off with the fact that it's awesome to have charge attacks back, especially in a way that doesn't defeat the purpose of going Sword Alone. There is, however, a glaring problem, specifically with the charge speed of the weapons, and how it's too damn long.

 

Pre Melee 2.0, the Galatine had the slowest charge in game, timing  at about 2 seconds or so unmodded. With the new charge attacks, all of them have the same charge speed, clocking in at about 2.5. While normally this wouldn't be a problem, it makes them almost useless, and breaks the flow of weapons that are supposed to be quick, like daggers, dual swords, or long swords. In addition, weapons that previously had a charge mechanic, like the Glaives, Redeemer, or Blade and Whip weapons, have all had their charge time increased, breaking the fluidity of these weapons, and making something that previously had quick and fluid movements, such as the Mios, feel like you're trying to throw a live snake as opposed to a hook.

 

Heavy weapons, on the other hand, are much less of an issue, as they make it feel like you're putting a significant amount of weight into the strike.
