Adorabus
(Sorry if this is the wrong section, but I see many threads here about this.) I have found a work-around for friends not being able to join your game. Basically you have to log into your router and set your DMZ host to your local IP address of the computer that is hosting the game. (Open your NAT.) My BF could never join my games from his house until I did this, but my brother could join from in the same house. Now it works 100% after this fix. So I think it is a good fix for now! :D It would be nice to have it work without this though, so I guess it's ok to write this in the bug report section! I am editing this post because now I wrote some instructions in case it will help! -------------------- Simple instructions to log into your router for setting your DMZ host. IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE! DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. 1. Open a command line window. Hold Windows key and press R, type cmd and press enter. 2. Find your local IP address and default gateway. Type "ipconfig" (without quotes) in the cmd window and press enter. Look for IPv4 Address, the number by that will be your local IP address. It should look something like 192.168.1.x (x being some number). Remember this number, it is your computer's local IP address. (If you have multiple network adapters, you're on your own for finding which IPv4 address is correct, sorry.) 3. A couple lines down from the IPv4 address should be "Default Gateway". It should look something like 192.168.1.1 Remember this number, it is your router's IP address. 4. Log into your router. Open your web browser and type your router's IP address into the address bar. You should be prompted for a username and password. You're on your on to find the password, however you can try some default usernames and passwords. Here is a site to help you find your router's default password: http://www.routerpasswords.com/ 5. Set your DMZ host. This is the part I can't really help you with, because each router is different. Be careful with changing your router settings. You need to look for a setting called DMZ host. If your router has categories, try looking under "Firewall Settings" or something similar. Once you find the DMZ host option, you will probably have a checkbox, and an area to enter an IP address. Check the box, and enter your computer's local IP address that you found earlier in step 2. 6. Save settings. You should have a save or apply button somewhere on the page. Click the button, and once it is done saving, you can close the router web page. 7. Test! Start up the game and see if your friends can join you now! I hope my tutorial helps you! Have fun and good luck! ^^ Edited January 23, 2013 by PinkFoxi
Slodin
Opening NAT requires a port number..is basically opening a port to allow outsiders in.. I don't know what port warframe use, so I can't open the NAT, therefore this post is...umm.. well..informing others what is happning.. Edit: yes, routers are different, but opening NAT is almost the same way for almost every router.. all you do is login to your router, go to port forwarding page, and add a port for warframe..but still, I don't know the port number.. Indrome
"Hey, I found a fix for your big problem. Go google it." Made me giggle. But thanks anyway, I'll try that. Though, I'm a bit concerned about opening ports for games nowadays...
Adorabus
No, port forwarding requires a port number. Setting your DMZ host only requires the local IP address. "Hey, I found a fix for your big problem. Go google it." Sorry, I posted this for people that know how to do that, but just didn't know if it would solve the problem.
