Low ammo in single player

Use ammo packs some. Still the only weapon that really seemes to suffer from low ammo all the time are rifles. Shotguns and sniper rifles get so much more out of ammo pick ups.

Headshotting all the time won't make much of a difference there are just that many enemies on most missions.

If you can't go with melee more often to keep yourself from running out, then carry ammo packs.

I think they need more pistol and rifle drops, because it seems that about 80% of the ammo drops i find are sniper and shotgun.

If it was just made so that you can find more rifle and pistol ammo i think it would be alot better. And if we are expected to buy ammo for every mission then I think the cost should drop to 500

Well you could always use an artifact card to boost the drop rate of the ammo type you want.

About the only time I've had ammo issues is messing around with a Gorgon that I havent gotten a catalyst for at lv 21 running around Pluto.

I noticed last night it seemed like they cut the number of rounds per shotgun pickup in half though I only remember getting 10 rounds per pickup where I think it was 20 just like rifles and pistols before.

It's not so much shotguns and snipers get more out of ammo pickups they are just inherintly more ammo efficient as both utilize high frontload damage per shot vs volume of shots.

Rifle packs need to give more per pickup, and there needs to be less useless ammo dropping in solo or even in co-op. Additionally, visual distinctions between the various types would allow players an easier time picking up the right ones and not missing any in the clutter.

Maybe buy some ammo-packs from the shop. Think they are there for a reason. ;)

They cost 1000 credits/ea. Now, if I run out of ammo every game, I wouldn't make any money anymore :/

I think everybody knows about the ammo-packs, but it's a clear flaw of the game that sniper/shotgun ammo is lying around like hell while rifle ammo is chilling somewhere else except for the floor where it should be.

That can't be it, nobody in my team got ANY rifle ammo, and even when playing alone I don't find a single magazine for me. I just have to use the extra-ammo mods, which sucks because I could use better mods...

arent there artifacts for that?

we had no problems so far.

im using the snipetron, and my friend is using the gorgon or some kind of shotgun.

if we fail a mission because we have no ammo, we buy some in the market, or we go into melee (it is there for a reason)

It's dropping I'm sure of it. You just don't notice at times because of a number of things

1. Killing at close range often causes drops from enemies to fall on you picking them up before they even touch ground.

2. Lockers drop alot of stuff so ammo picked up is not noticed as the messages get flooded off the screen rapidly.

3. Periodically picking up 20 rounds when you're using something like a gorgon that can load hundreds of rounds in a single mag isnt as noticable when coupled with high rate of automatic fire.

I agree. It seems as though the intent may be to promote use of secondary and melee weapons, however their is such a lackluster ammount of ammo drops based on your primary weapon, it becomes impossible to progress (especially if you are playing higher level missions). The solution being spend credits and buy ammo boxes, but it feels like a fairly arbitrary mechanic given ammo is cheap and it simply becomes tedious purchasing multiple boxes in between levels.

Dropping primary and secondary weapon ammo based on the equiped weapons (ala someone elses suggestion) would work fine. Currently, the most viable option is to stick to levelling a single weapon and loading up on ammo.

If you were to have a sustanable (but not overly abundant) availability of ammo, this would promote players using multiple weapons to balance ammo conservation as well as more evenly levelling up multiple weapons. Players that were more inclined to disregard accuracy and/or favour their primary weapon could then purchase ammo boxes, thus allowing the game to viably support that play style.

Currently (i think im with everyone else here), you just fill up on primary weapon ammo and scoot around the level ignoring most monster drops simply becuase you know there are about 12 bullets in a whole level.

I use snipertron and i do run out of ammo almost every solo mission.

The ammo u don't need is aways the one that drops more (it's murphy law!)

Still believe two types of ammo would totally solve the problem.

Buying ammo is something I did and regret.

It's a single use, it don't solve the problem even in a single game section.

Ammo packs definetly need a lot of buff.

And I agree with Wiawyr: "visual distinctions between the various types" would be great.

  • 1 month later...

since visual distinctions are already implemented and seens like they have adjusted the ammo drops this can be closed.

You necro'd a thread from over a month ago, just to say it's not an issue anymore?

Rifle ammo boxes cause 1k for 3 boxes and each box completely replenishes your ammo. Mods drop regularly and easily sell for 500 creds just for one.

Untill some one does an actual count of the pick-ups more ammo dropping for sniper and shotgun is an illusion brought up by the fact that you dont have a shotgun or a sniper rifle so they get noticed and cataloged as a waste.

Outside of the early levels where you arent as savvy about the game ammo should not be a problem at all.

To be honest I thought the same way as you guys when I was using a rifle myself. "Why the fk are there so much shot gun and sniper ammo and barely any rifle ammo?"

Then I picked up a sniper and said the same thing. "Why the fk are there so much rifle and shot gun ammo and so little sniper ammo?"

Then I picked up a HEK and said "Dam why is there so much shot gun ammo on the ground?"

Moral of the story? Don't just spray your rifle. You have a secondary and a melee for a reason. if you can get a kill with melee, do it. Rifle ammo gives 20 per drop, shotgun 10, Pistol 20, sniper 10.

You were given a pistol and melee weapon for a reason. Hell I go around hacking and slashing everything I see to death. Conserve your ammo. At the rate you're going you won't be beating any boss without tons of ammo packs.

Get latron. You'll never run out of ammo. Never.

Oh and if you're using snipetron, don't shoot everything. You'll run out of ammo. Try to use your sidearm as much as possible. Bronco is a good choice!
