Datamass mission breaking bug!

You need a few more details, like what type of room, where you died in particular, and what killed you. Not knowing where the datamass dissapeared means everyone has to guess to figure out where things might go wrong.

Still usually when a player is downed, the datamass drops roughly right beside them. Like some objects if it falls into a pit, it will refresh somewhere nearby.

Usually they only dissapear completely if all players walk too far away from the datamass, and supposedly that is being worked on.

similiar thing happened to me today, i was on a team of 4

i was clearing, three were rushing, one of them had data, they all died

by the time i get to their bodies, no data in sight, the room looked like this

___====___

[ ]

{==[___________===}

doors on both ends and top, with windows facing south that can be destroyed and then you have to close them (there is also an adjoining alcove that i left off the map above the rightmost hallway, and two data retrieval stations in the room (one in alcove, one in upper right corner

the bodies i found were in the upper right section of the room, and i ducked and crawled around spamming the E key (to pick up data)

but no luck, i, guess the data disappeared cuz i was too far away when they died, we all had to fail the mission =[

best of luck fixing this dev's, I have faith in ya's! =]

I had a smiliar bug where I dropped a datamass to draw my long gun and I just left it there and continued exploring 'knowing' I could just come back to it, but it despawned and broke the mission :/ I lost it in one of those long sloping hallways near the top on the first slope there. I went several rooms to the end then backtracked to get the other data mass got that and it never remembered the first one. I had to quit out. About all I can say is I jumped down into the abyss on one of those double elevator maps, not sure if that is what caused it because I didn't go looking for it for a while. That said I've never had a problem with losing one before.

For Grimicus and cyberpunk, it sounds like it was the distance issue. Lots of things despawn if you end up 3 to 5 rooms away from them. Datamass need to be fixed so that they don't, or so that a replacement would appear somewhere. We can't be sure of the exact method they will use to fix the problem.

As for jumping into the abyss, I have done it myself while holding a datamass. It's perfectly safe. I have even seen a player drop datamass into abyss, it's a simple trick. The datamass will fall for a bit then get reset to a decent spot near where it fell, pretty much where anything else ends up when it falls down a bottomless shaft in the same spot.

Though nothing is perfect, maybe there is somewhere where it can get messed up. Only try dropping it into pits if you are testing. It would be foolish to ruin a round on purpose unless you are really attempting to be sure everywhere works just fine.

Another bug - If your friend is carrying 3 datamass and his internet cuts out for 5 seconds~ (he disconnects from skype, and the game lags out to the point of being frozen so it completely stops, but you aren't actually frozen.)

When this happens, he disconnects with 3 datamass on his character, which puts me into my own instance of the run, so at this point I can only get 1 datamass since the 3 he had despawned, thus I can't complete the mission, while he can.

Pretty meh bug.

I should note that his game plays normally, and on his client it says I disconnected, when it's him that is having the internet issue - not me.
