He might be thinking in the more traditioanl fantasy sense, which are really more akin to polearms. I certainly wouldn't mind something along the lines of an Orthos with a big curved blade. Would it use the current scythe stance or would it need new ones? probably a new one as the current stances drive the scythe into the ground, and that would create some insane clipping with a polearm-sized scythe.
