Am I Just Dumb Or What?

Whenever i try to lvl weapons i always get like 25-40% more xp on my primary than on my melee(i usually just play without a secondary). am i doing something wrong or is this a bug?

When leveling a weapon it is best to level using the weapon. If you are using a primary, then you are leveling your melee passively.

you are probebly killing more whit your primary weapon then your melee weapon so your primary naturaly gain more affinity then your melee weapon.

you alweys gain more affinity on the weapon or frame used to gain the most kills with.

Affinity from enemies killed by your frame's abilities (fireball, bladestorm, etc.) go entirely to your warframe. To get the best XP from your frame for leveling a melee weapon, use debuffs, buffs, CC and mobility powers to help you get weapon kills.

 

Affinity(XP) from kills with weapons are split between the killing weapon and your frame. To get the best XP from your weapon kills, use the weapon you are leveling up.

 

Affinity from allies killing stuff, side objectives and affinity orbs are split evenly between your frame and all weapons you brought with you. To get the most affinity from kills by allies, bring only the weapon you want to level up so it gets a larger share when the affinity splits two ways instead of four.

Actually affinity gained from allies is split 25/75 warframe/weapons. Everything else is correct.
