[Spoilers] So Whats So Special About Our Tenno?

Recommended Posts

In the Origin System. There are many, many Tenno. However out of all these Tenno one has risen over the rest. You. You were the one to defeated Captain Vor. You are the one stuck with Cephalon Ordis. You are the one who allowed every Tenno to know exactly what we are. A operator transfering our consciousness to numerous Warframes. So what makes this one Tenno so special? The Lotus specifically went to your ship to speak with you personally after all. Anyways getting out of monologue mode. This is a classic "everyones the chosen one". This is ok but.. Something that would be a nice addition would be to see NPC tenno. Every event is a group effort. Whether it be stopping Fomorians, sabotaging underwater labs. Everything major thing the Tenno do is done together. Perhaps in the future we could see other NPC Tenno in quests and events. Maybe even have conversations with them Operator to Operator. Anyways im rambling. If NPC Tenno were to become a thing. What would you have them do?

If you think about it we could be the last Tenno in a few updates. The Moon where our bodies are kept is out of the Void, just a ways off Earth, capital of the Grineer. We've already seen the Corpus are there too and Sentients send parties in there every now and then.

We were the only one (that we know of) actually left and when we did leave we were chased out by the Sentients.

The Tenno are in more danger than ever. But let's just gloss over that fact, shall we?

So many Orokin beings, well, enemies contradict you with "The Tenno" line.

Or: We were the first to get there and grab our Operator. The others probably came in huge groups.

Yeah, when we return to the moon later, we loads of empty transference pods. Also, canonically, there's a S#&$load of Tenno. I don't see them changing that offscreen.

The story assumes you are the only Tenno of note.  Other players aren't frequently witnessing your exploits .  It isn't so much a "everyone's the chosen one" moment so much as a "it's a single player game with other people present" moment.  It's why getting hung up on the fact that everyone is doing the same quest in an MMO is just stupid - they're designed to address the individual player as a hero among the masses, not con a horde of people into doing some guard's job.

We'll only ever escape the fact everyone is experiencing the same story when online open world games leave story and event generation up to RNG + guidelines, and let player reactions and choices influence where that story goes.  I'd go into detail, but that's a bible length read and a fairly irrelevant topic of discussion to Warframe.  Simply put, that's a $#!%-ton of work up front and players have proven time and time again a simple line of quests and a carrot on a stick will bring in the money.
