Melee Mods.

I feel like there needs to be more melee mods.

If your weapon doesn't have decent base crit, those 2 mods don't apply.

Were left with Damage (Charge or Melee), Elemental (Frost, Fire, Electric and Armor Piercing), Reach and Speed Mods (Charge and Attack). The rest of em aren't really useful IMO.

There isn't really a way to customize it or suit it to your play style other than choosing what weapon you use.

I think there should be more selection personally I feel like it's just collecting a certain 6 mods or w/e maxing them and then that's my build for everything.

That being said does anyone have any good ideas for new melee mods?
It is kind of a strange space to work with.

Curious to know some of the other folks opinions on this. Ideas as well.

Cheers!

TL:DR MOAR MELEE MODS!!! WUT SHOULD DEY BE?

I heard they were planning to make block mods, I just hope that blocking won't be completely useless as it is now without mods, I imagine some weapons will have better base block than others as well.

Honestly I never block.

I remember the day they put it in I was like "Oh hey that's cool". Found a good keybind for it and then never used it. I just never think about it when I need it. I'd rather just find cover anyway or use an ability.

But seeing more melee weapon diversity would make me happy :) Blocking stats could make it interesting.

Mods? MODS?! HERE ARE SOME MODS

Vampire (heals per hit, duh)

Vanquish (% chance to instantly kill weaker enemies)

Power Swing (charge attacks have a % chance to release a shockwave ahead of them)

Chain Strike (attacks deal % of damage to nearby enemies [like a melee multishot])

Rend (attacks cause enemies to lose additional health over time)

Heavy-hitter (attacks are slower but greatly strengthened)

...and that's all I got!

Ground Slam (increases range of AoE effects when You hit the ground with Your weapon)

Would be pretty awesome on some of the weps with a large radius, can you imagine Scindo jump attack with +50%? Frost on dat bby would slow an entire room.

Vampier, yes please

Vanquish, oh god yes please

Power swing, sounds really cool but would be really annoying if you don't one shot stuff and then you need to run after it.

And the rest....meh.

but those first two a=sound really great.

I agree there needs to be more melee mods!

2 that I thought of are

Execution: Increase chance to kill a target under a certain % of health

Bleed: Chance to cause wound that bleeds out dealing high damage over time

I like both of those a lot, actually they could just have bleed damage as another damage type. Weapons that rend and do say 20% as a DoT.
