0 Xico.xide Posted January 8, 2016 Share Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Although the current ones are now just purely cosmetic, long ago, before arcanes were chips that could be installed on cosmetics, arcanes were helmets that had their own stats, they came with a positive stat and a negative stat. However, DE didn't feel like connect stats to cosmetics was the way to go with giving your warframe more powerful, so they removed the arcane helmet alerts but those who have arcane helmets were able to keep them as a compensation. They arcane helms are trade-able, although most of them don't cost very much at all, the most expensive one is rhino's vanguard helm. They didn't exist by the time of the XB1 release. They were also excluded from accounts that migrated. All helmets that are available for purchase on the market are purely cosmetic. XB1 started just after Arcanes were removed, but you weren't really missing much to be honest. Only a few of them were any good, but at that they looked horrible. Not having to wear a certain helm to get the stat boost is nice. Added diversity to what you see.
