I don't know if failing to be able to alt + tab has been fixed yet, but when that happens, you'll notice in Task Manager that it no longer thinks the application is running, which is why alt + tab stopped working. Right now i'm tabbing in and out all summer long and i seem to always successfully get back into the game.
