This is a really poor trend from DE. It was already evident with the Conculyst, which drops not only Vengeful Revenant at an extremely low drop percentage but FOUR other RARE mods. Such massive saturation, I can only imagine how pissed I'd be to have farmed constantly for Vengeful revenant, to finally see a Rare mod drop and find it's the wrong bloody one.

So now we have Manic Bombards which are insanely rare already, dropping TWO RARE mods, one of which was already so rare that literally 5% of the community probably had it before Baro Kiteer eventually brought it. What are the odds of the second one dropping considering the drop rate's been even more saturated now.... I challenge DE to go and farm this mod, without altering the drop rate. And after a week of failure, admit what they've done.

I will happily spend money on this game if it's for the right reasons. But to buy a mod stance at an inflated price(because let's face it, who's gonna pay 175p for a weapon they can craft?), sorry DE, you aren't getting my money and as a business, you need to take a serious look at that because there are MANY other games on Steam we could purchase and have our attention grabbed by that cost the same amount you're asking for a damn mod... Speaking of which, Hearts of Stone Expansion for Witcher is calling, guess I'll spend my money on that instead of your game.

asuming the numbers are correct the drop chances do not add. the drop chance is always final. What you actually get is another chance at say '1.25%' but this does not add up to 2.5% its lower actually.

using ivara is a valid solution to get 4 chances from the 2 bombards in total. the odds still suck

Yup, there's a line between ''Hey guys, it's easier to buy this from the market'' and ''Hey guys, have fun never seeing this unless you buy it from the market''.

This crossed that line.

Absolutely.

Alternative :

Farm prime items, sell for plat, buy the bundle.

What you don't sell is Ducat fodder for Baro.

"Just buy it with plat."

..........Doing exactly what DE wants you to do and encouraging this kind of crap.

Stop. Buying. It. With. Plat.

Protest with your wallets.

I would happily spend money on this game if it's for the right reasons. But to buy a mod stance at an inflated price(because let's face it, who's gonna pay 185p for a weapon they can craft?), sorry DE, you aren't getting my money and as a business, you need to take a serious look at that because there are MANY other games on Steam we could purchase and have our attention grabbed by that cost the same amount you're asking for a damn mod...

But the difference (and most annoying thing) about this is that it is the only stance for it's weapon type.

Doing it Monkey style here, they don't only drop TWO RARE mods, they even drop FOUR RARE mods. Sure footed and Sanctuary say hi...unfortunately..

I was not incorrect with my numbers. It's .0125%

That's because it's 2.5% to enter a rare pool, and then it has to go by the chance of getting that specific mod from the rare pool.

You do not get 2.5% chance of dropping the rapier stance. You get a 2.5% chance of dropping A rare stance of some sort.

.0125% is the chance you get for dropping that specific mod from the enemy each time you kill it.

I don't know where you're getting your numbers, the formula you showed seems to randomly be doing an un-nessisary calculation to get your percentage, which ends up doing crazy things with order of operations, as well as somehow using an exponent of 10? Anyway, the formula you're looking for should be [drop chance]*[number of rolls].

Each Ivara can loot once, so each bombard has 5 chances of dropping. 2 bombards per run means you have 10 chances of it dropping per run.

That's just a simple .021 * 10

This means you have a .21% chance of getting one on each run, meaning on average it would take about 476 rounds to get one.

To answer your question, 476 runs is kinda bad, especially when everyone on the team has to be running a meta-farming frame.

-sigh-

Do I really have explain basic math? Maybe I should just google a video for you...

Ugh, even worse. Considering I've never seen ANY of them drop while I was farming Equinox for 2 days, DE can seriously forget it if they think they're getting my money by making it damn near impossible to farm for. I'll just take that shiny new rapier that they worked so hard to create and toss it on the trash pile. Witcher 3 is more interesting at the moment anyway. I've literally just been doing the daily Sortie, plus a quick forma farm and quitting again.

Someone did though, for every 220p spent on the bundle 220p is taken out of circulation and has to be reinjected.

The end result is the same, more people buying platinum.

Steve said something about this in a recent devstream. Essentially that anyone who has ever done a transaction involving plat has helped the game increase it's revenue and he was saying how he appreciates them all etc.

I'm pretty new, to be honest. I joined in late 2014, not enough to know what DE does and what DE doesn't do properly. I just play the game and ignore content I find subpar such as the Mesa frame or virtually every archwing related mission ever. I am not sure about how DE used to handle criticism or how they currently handle criticism but from what I've seen they don't listen to the community as much as they should. I've watched only one devstream and I noticed that they dodged a few hard questions here and there but didn't really care that much because I didn't think they did that all the time. On the other hand, I was there when they released this really hard escort even for a rare stance mod (Astral Twilight, I believe), they responded by giving everyone a free orokin catalyst (along with some snark) and I think nerfing the mission. Obviously I'm not DE employee, a lot of us aren't, but you gotta ask yourself "How is DE handling PR crises as of today and why?"

They could be looking at some of our posts, and taking notes of what they did wrong, and what they could do to prevent this if they thought they did something wrong. Maybe they're planning to talk about this in a devstream or in a forum post. They could be thinking that they messed up but waiting for the outrage to die down so they can get some genuine feedback and working with that. They could be thinking that they still did good because they think that people are overreacting, and change nothing because something like this isn't going to hurt them. They could be thinking nothing, because they didn't read any of our posts. Changing nothing. I don't know, neither of us know because like I said before we're not DE. I don't know how difficult it is to come up with a solution let alone a response to this.

In my uneducated opinion, I really think they should say something along the lines of "Yeah we're aware that you're all upset, we're going to address this tomorrow/next devstream/never." That will at least remove the idea that DE doesn't care anymore.

Negative four hours and ten minutes for me.

I have a decent enough paying jorb so I can afford prime access stuff and just coast off the plat from that. I am actually rather pleased that I did as the stance has it's first attack in any chain have a solid chance to force a bleed proc. Mix that with the fact that it seems to be built to stack that combo damage multiplier as fast as possible and that it is a viable berserker candidate and it is a shockingly effective setup.

But this is just me and I figure others aren't in my position. At the least I can always just hand off any other copies I come across to clanmates or whomever needs it as a freebie.

You seems like don't understand the problem-it's not like we can't afford it, it's like you HAVE to buy due to how unfarmable this stance is. It's nearly impossible to get nezha but you can easily buy it from market\trade, this kind of attitude lead in to bad direction of game where F2P only the name coz you can't farm anything.

I honestly don't understand all the whining... Or the numbers people have been tossing out like a 0.0021 drop rate...

Like most rare mods it is 2%, that doesn't change with other things being dropped from them too.

Either be lazy and buy it or suck it up and start farming, you'll have at least 12 hours before the weapon is built anyways.

Honestly the best way to make them realise this kind of disrespect to the players(first V Revenant, now this) will not be tolerated and will turn us towards other games,

Is to boycott the upcoming Prime Release.

I know it probably wouldn't ever happen but just imagine how damaging to the pocket it would be if everyone just refused to pay the $200 or so for when they release the next one. And the only way they ever will listen is if this kind of thing happens. Again, I don't see it ever happening.

Remember back in the day the outrage for Four Riders being a Manic Drop?

How about Vermillion Storm, the stance that was in the Manic Bombard, which had 1 on 2 chances to appear in an entire mission?

Well, it's the same all over again. Defiled Snapdragon, thanks God it was a Scorpion Stance. Gaia's Tragedy took me 40 Scrombas/Combas kills. Then we had Vengeful Revenant, a stance that drops from Conculysts, which in for example Plato might spawn; and now Vulpine Mask, which also drops in Manic Bombards and the Drekar Variant.

And it's a rare mod, thus having an extremely low drop chance...

Please, stop DE, it's extremely painful to see this.

Anytime you have four Rare mod duplicates, Transmute them. DO NOT use a core to eliminate the cost, it lowers your chances significantly.

This is what I do everytime I have four spares, with the 36k creds. Also how I got my Four Riders.

I don't think most people have had a problem with farming. Everything about WF is farming.

The more logical complaints have been that they stuck a rare mod on a rare enemy that only appears on 1 planet and only 1 node consistently. That pigeonholes everyone to actively only grind that one mission. It is also the only stance for the rapier type.

If they had at least put it on a more common enemy (ex. defiled snapdragon), then people could play the mission types they wanted, wherever they wanted.

Considering that the implication of many posts in this thread is that DE is money hungry, the bundle sure is priced reasonably.

It's 220 for the weapon, 7 day booster and the stance. If you figure 175 p for the weapon, you're getting a 7 day booster for a discounted price of 45 p and a super rare stance for free.

Not to mention you don't have to actually farm for the stance, you can instead play the game and you will naturally accrue things that can be sold for the Plat to buy the stance in trade, and conveniently for you DE has setup conditions where the stance will never cost a lot of plat regardless of rarity.

I think people also completely forget about transmutation, I've had the stance since this afternoon thanks to spare gold mods and an excess of credits.
