bamce
I was clicking through some skill trees today and came to a realization. The skill trees are all the same. I marveled at the loss of opprotunity this was. If we could get a divergant path, preferably too many to spend skill points in, it could greatly increase the variety and increase the longeviety. As an idea could start off in the middle with something generic, like the mod slot. Branching left could focus on things like fire rate, and reload, while right could be raw damage, clip size. Some ideas that come to mind of possible slots Damage fire rate reload clip crit rate/damage Elemental effects Stun chance armor pen Stablity At the ends of the trees you could have some exclusive very powerful stuff, multishot, aoe damage. The like On a simlar note, differnt weapon classes should have different trees. Assault rifles more firerate and stablity slots. While shotguns could have a tightened spread and faster reload. ~~~~~~~~~ as an aside I wasn't able to find a list of specs on weapons after proing them. perhaps setup the system so you can get on top tier talent for the weapon on each side without pro. However make a lower teir ablity. and balance out the points so when you pro a weapon you aren't able to get both. Set pro lvl at 20/30 instead of 15 as it currently sits. second aside, i'm gonna go ahead and assume that the frame trees are the same. Could do alot here to increase the viablity of different playstyles. A simple gun/energy tree system with a possible 3rd utility would do alot. RabidWhippet
Id really like this as well. I'd like different trees for each frame, and a way to specialize, say 50-60 nodes but only 30 points, that way there is individuality and each persons build may be slightly different. bamce
well lets throw our some ideas to make it easier on the dev's. There is no reason gun/melee/power range has to limited to mods. Same with shield capacity and defense. Rhino could have a gun tree and a defensive tree. Perhaps if the dev's feel really crazy each tree could have differ ablities on it as well. Volume
I too was lured by what looked like a FFX-sphere grid but ended up somehow being even more linear and plateauing.
Eturn
I agree completely. Within about two weeks I have unlocked all the PvE content there isn't a mission that is to hard to complete anymore, even with mediocre mods. In the same frame of time I have unlocked three Warframes and find it so mundan lvling the third to 30 as there is nothing left for me to do, no content left challenging enough for me to complete. With some actual skill trees that are more unique and give different paths for each Warframe I think the replay value would greatly increased. As of now its just grinding out lvls to completely unlock one Warframes potential, then rinse and repeat....i.e. very boring after you do it once or twice. Not much more for me to accomplish. Game Over I suppose, what's left to do? Farm better mods, why? There is no more content to get better for. Grind out leveling up different weapons, why? Any weapon you pick up has the ability to finish just about any mission, ammo willing. Build more Warframes, why? Max limit is two unless you PAY for more slots....which I have. Please tell me where is the replay value?
