This game looks interesting but I'm a PS3 and my PC is not for gaming so hook me up when this is relased on PS3 (or even the Xbox for that matter). Till then I will not be benefitting from any of the promotions this beta is advertising.

I honestly hope this never happens. Sorry, but decent PC exclusives of this calibur are few and far between (they're growing due to kickstater and the popularity of founders programs) and multi-platform titles mean the PC versions suffer due to the limitations of console hardware.

Sorry you can't take part in Warframe, if you ever get a good enough PC you should come join us!

This.

And the fact that the devs will have to use their time on making a port and having to check on all platforms for bugs and how the patches will effect things and so on.

(psst, get your &#! off the ps3 and buy a pc)

LMAO.... I got a PC, which I use for graphic designing, so I'm sure its quite capable of running Warframe. I have already invested in the PlayStation for the purpose of gaming and my PC for the purpose of desiging (just letting you in). So for the excuses posted as per bug fixes and multi-platform experiments gone awry it would be a great benefit for the developers to cross platform to reach gamers like myself who play on a different console(s).

As you are well comfortable with playing on a PC (hand-mind coordination, accessorries etc) so am I with my PS3 so I'm sure you get my drift and the benefit to attain by allowing multi-platforms to participate, heck we could be Squaddies. LOL... thanks for the PC tip tho.

Bless.

why would you be so against using your PC for a game you obviously like. and also, how do you know you want it on PS3 if you havent played it on your PC?

i am a huge PS3 fan, but you can also just play this on your PC with an XBOX controller its the mouse and keyboard that is bothering you.

The minimum specs for Warframe are:

OS: Windows XP SP 3 or higher

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo e6400 or AMD Athlon x64 4000+

Memory: 2 GB RAM

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT or ATI Radeon HD 3600

DirectX: 9.0c

Hard Drive: 1 GB free HD space

This system is cheap .cost about 300-400 usd. Welcome to the PC gaming world!

Porting it to the PS3 would most likely cost a considerable amount of time (and thus money) due to the different architecture. It would probably also cost the devs a fee to get the all clear to actually release it on the PS3. (Sony wants a cut after all).

Cross-platform grouping will also never happen due to the closed nature of the PS3. Sony would most likely never let this happen. Another reason this would be bad is the potential for future PvP. PC users would have a clear advantage there due to mouse and keyboard being far more accurate.

Furthermore, as has been said before, the PC just makes more sense due to the capabilities a PC has. You can hook up any peripheral to a PC, even a PS3 controller. As well as using a TV as monitor.

Lastly, free to play games aren't really a console thing yet. They're currently the most successful on PC and mobile devices. Though I'm sure this will change in the near future. (Microsoft flat out refusing to allow free games on their console isn't helping either).

While I'm not against them porting it to PS3 in the future, if they think it would be viable, I think it would be wiser to continue improving and adding things to the game on PC.

Well, if ya'll can give me the proper directives to hooking up my PS3 controller to my PC and (I gather) hooking up to the TV via HDMI (just a hunch) I would be glad to give it a try. I am not all nay on the subject as I am willing to give something a try before I cast judgement on it (despite what you may have percieved following this thread). My PC is fully capable as per requirements posted so I'm all ears.

Bless.

P.S.

I'm gonna download the game file now so I can be ready when ya'll have responded.

I have no experience with hooking up a PC to a TV. Should be no harder than hooking it up to a monitor though I reckon. So HDMI does seem like the right way to do so.

I do have experience with hooking up my Dualshock 3 and Sixaxis to my pc though. Use this tool for your PS3 controller: http://www.motioninjoy.com/download

The page I linked has a link with a full guide on how to install it and set it up. Good luck and I hope you can enjoy the game more this way :)

@savokgear: This game is a third-person shooter, there is no genre called "console shooter". :3

DreSwaby, I can confirm motionjoy works brilliantly. I use a ps3 pad to play certain games on my pc, it has 360 emulation function that you use to trick the pc into thinking you have an xbox pad (which is what most windows games accept). If you get stuck during setp, feel free to ask us.

And if your card doesn't have an HDMI slot, you can buy a dvi to hdmi converter. They're very cheap. Your TV may even have a div input (mine does). Just a matter of plugging in just like you do to your moniot and slecting the correct source.

Hope you get it up an running, it's a great game so far!

Sony charges a lot to release patches so I don't think f2p games will work on the PS3.

You'll probably enjoy the game more if you use a mouse and keyboard. A controller won't be accurate enough and you'll probably run out of ammo often.

Cross-platform grouping will also never happen due to the closed nature of the PS3.

Portal 2 has cross-platform play between PS3 and PC users. It's possible but unlikely.

"Console shooter" is a subgenre. This game isn't one, though.

As far as i would love a world in wich theres no such thing as platform exclusive i also know that 70% of the time ports are horrible or the platform on which it originated lacks features due to limitations on other platforms

so i hope this doent happen

Ah, yes. I forgot about Portal 2. That happened more due to Valve's efforts than Sony's though I reckon. All other games that would've been great cross-platform they didn't bother with, sadly. DC Universe Online comes to mind.

Also, this:

"console shooter" isn't a subgenre, it's just a term used to describe a shooter on a console.

I do wish console makers would stop with their stupid fees for patches. It screws the console players over quite a bit since smaller developers won't be able to/willing to pay for updates to their games. I remember the FEZ fiasco :<

Yes Guys, it was a bit of a challenge but I finally got the MotionJoy installed and everything seem to be responding smoothly now for me to give it a in-game test run. (I even went as far as to repair *broke out screwdriver* my old PS3 controller that was malfunctioning for the sole purpose of testing out this game so you know I'm looking for maxium results).

Good-looking out.

Bless.
