Bonus exp working strangely

I can't say exactly what's wrong, but there seem to be something strange about bonus xp. It might be also that it occurs when you join the same game for second time... What happens is that you get bonus exp enough to level up a weapon or so, but it actually does not level up. The screen shows you that the weapon leveled up, but in reality it does not...

Yeah, had that happened to me once or twice before. it also gives exp to weapons that i don't use during the mission. For example, i'm trying to lvl up my melee weapon by using it mostly through out the mission, but my pistols got more exp compared to my melee weapon. Funny thing is that my pistols are maxed out and not my melee weapon.
