kentuckyfry2
This is my first post on the forums, so I'd like to say a quick hello to everyone, as well as make a few simple suggestions that I feel would certainly improve gameplay. I understand that your resources may be limited or tied up producing more content, so I decided to offer the simplest of adjustments that will increase the average players enjoyment of Warframe. 1. The Elephant in the Room - Rubedo & Earth Let's talk about the most pressing issue I see currently with gameplay, farming Rubedo on Earth. The average player enjoys running around farming a bit, but 800 resources for a single warframe? This needs to be toned down. By 400 resources most of us are absolutely sick of farming and want to stop playing the game. You don't want that. You want us to be engaged while playing. Spending countless hours trying to farm certainly isn't accomplishing this, and it will drive more casual players away from the game. Dropping the amount of rubedo required for new warframes to 500 Rubedo or so would seem like a decent enough fix at the moment until more ingame content is released. OR - Make Rubedo drop from other zones besides just those on Earth. 2. Alert Missions Let's quickly go over the purpose of Alert Missions ingame. To me, it seems like this is an adjusted version of the energy system found in many games, like Wow. It's a simple system aimed at incentivizing periodic play of the game. That's great! In short, it's meant to draw us back into the game time and time again, to make Warframe part of our daily routine. However, what's not helping you accomplish this are the countless alert missions which do not offer enough incentive. I know that the majority of players skip right over the alert missions that do not provide "?" loot. A couple extra credits are just not worth their time. If you want this system to be more effective, either increase the type of loot offered in the mission (mods, weapons, etc.) or increase the frequency of "?" loot being offered in the alerts. When you do that, you will most likely see people log in far more frequently to participate in these alert missions. 3. Building Warframes and the Foundry! Finally, I'd like to address the Build times within the Foundry system. I'm not quite sure who decided it would be a good idea to make players wait days at a time to finish building a piece of equipment they had already spent days farming to obtain. While I understand that current ingame content may be relatively limited at these earlier stages of development, forcing players to wait multiple days for their beloved new warframe is NOT the way to go to increase player game time. This does nothing to enrich gameplay, and instead is driving players away from the game. Nothing about waiting in a game is fun. I repeat, NOTHING ABOUT WAITING IN A GAME IS FUN. PERIOD. Ever seen an award winning game entitled "Let's wait in Line"? Right, me neither. Just scrap this in the future; nothing about this feature is appealing. Well that's about it for now. I'll probably be posting more in the future, as besides these few needed tweaks - the game is absolutely fabulous. TL;DR Reduce Rubedo requirements for suits or increase drop rate Tweak the Alert System towards different types of loot or more "?" loot in order to make it more interesting Drop the wait time on building equipment, it's completely pointless and anti-fun. Please feel free to comment, I would love to hear from an administrator or any member willing to discuss these or other adjustments that could benefit the game. UkyoSonoda
Without the long build time on warframes there would be no incentive really to buying them with platinum. Alot of the complaints on foundry times leads me to believe alot of you people sit there staring at the timer like doing so will make it go faster but its actually about as productive as staring at a pot of water trying to make it boil faster. I push the build button then either start on collecting stuff for the next thing I want to build. If nothing is there currently I stockpile mats anyway so I can just build it when I decide on something new. Or I do other things like run missions with friends for fun, watch TV, post on these forums, etc. The timer requires nothing from you once started. You dont even need to be logged in. Game is still in early beta stages and will most likely have more content coming out which could result in new places that drop rubedo, alloy plates, and a few other materials people complain about lack of farming locations. As for the alert missions yeah alot of people seem to skip them if they don't offer a reward other than credits. Though it seems like alerts in general tend to drop materials and mods slightly more often.

CapricaSix
Welcome to the Warframe forums ;P About warframe prices, Just as UkyoSonoda said, but also you only pay once for that warframe and we don't exactly have a wide variety of options when it comes to warframes unless you want them all in which case it would make up a nice personal goal to farm a bit and try to get all the stuff you need to complete your collection or something. I get at least 50 rubedo everytime I play on Earth, and even more when I'm playing on the infested missions on Earth, that would make it a minimum 10 runs to build a warframe assuming you can get the rest of the stuff easily. Is that really unfair as a one time payment with ingame resources? I don't think so. However increasing the Rubedo drop amount just a tiny bit couldn't hurt I suppose. I agree Alerts should have those mystery rewards more often. Can't really comment on the rest as I don't see it as a daily farming activity, I just go for the alerts whenever I see them on when I happen to be playing the game. It could have more interesting missions and maybe even cutscenes and other improvements but I'm sure they've got something planned for it already. Still, I agree with you, it needs more depth. I quite like the current Foundry system, it feels realistic in a sense and it does encourage the impatient player to spend a measly 20 platinium to rush the process. Just start crafting and keep playing your game as it crafts. That being said I do hope the amount of waiting will be 24/36 hours at max and not more, but completely removing it? I don't want that. It gives me something to look forward to, the suspense, the excitement, the anticipation of the possibly awesome or crappy weapon/warframe, so yeah I like it :P
cypherhalo
I'm still pretty new to the game but yeah, I don't really see the advantage of alerts at this stage. Can't speak to Rubedo as I haven't built any warframes although I could have sworn it is available in another sector besides Earth. Would have to check on that. I can speak to farming in general. Which is to say it can be a bit frustrating. I was trying to farm morphics for a while there and I don't really get the system. I was trying to farm Mercury and getting bupkus. I played the first mission in Mars, and BAM! Morphics. So, apparently some items are more rare depending on the system??? Anyway, I know F2P games need to have some grind and I know they want you to play but farming for materials when it is a random loot drop can definitely be a frustrating experience. So, I would recommend they keep an eye on it and maybe make some tweaks (ex. give you a planet you can go to and be guaranteed to get small amounts of "X" material). In fairness, they do let you know what will drop in a given sector, so I do appreciate that. The Foundry system, well, I'm ok with it. I agree that is a bit odd to spend so much time farming materials, pay credits, and then have to wait for my item to be built. That said, it's really not a huge deal to me. Start the process, keep playing, go to bed, next day it will be done. So, I'm ok with Foundry as-is.

An auction house and trade system could solve that "problem" for people who simply don't have time nor patience for the farm/grind, so you can buy other people's overpriced materials/blueprints or simply get some spare stuff from a friend for free. Kaiku
1. Multiple locations and missions where you can find the same crafting items so you can have some variation while you're farming. Being forced to do one single task over and over again is a bore. 2. The rewards you can get from a "?" alert, aren't even that good at the moment. Alerts need to be improved. 3. There could be a way to speed up the crafting process. For example, every time when you complete a mission, the timer would go down 30 minutes. I'm not sure tho, I don't personally see the crating times as a too long time to wait.
