The Move to Mountain - February 22nd, 2016

Spoiler

On March 25 of 2014, the Fallen Vanguard was born. Nytec and I wanted to get our hands on those fancy Clan Research Blueprints we kept hearing about. We built the first keys to the Dojo, and cooked up a respectable number of rooms on our own, before running out of Forma and crying about it thereafter. We invite a few friends to give us a hand.

*  *  *

On April 18th of 2014, Nytec and I realized we actually had more than eight friends, and we couldn't fit them all in a Ghost Clan. We also ran out of Forma again, and figured we'd leech reach out to others for support. We moved up to Shadow Tier, and started accepting anyone and everyone into the Clan. Though our only advertising campaign was a copy/paste message in Recruiting chat every few minutes.

Nevertheless, our ranks grew, and I realized that Warframe was a game that I genuinely wanted to invest in. I've led Guilds/Clans in the past, and it's a pretty hefty amount of work. I was hesitant to take that step with Warframe, but I soon grew to love the game, its developers, and the community at large. I wanted to help facilitate that bond. I wanted to make A̶m̶e̶r̶i̶c̶a̶  the Fallen Vanguard great again.

*  *  *

On June 10th of 2014, the Clan steps into the Storm. We set up the infamous recruitment thread, and a rag-tag Council of sorts starts to take shape. Our Dojo expands rapidly -- rooms and wings and whole floors come to life. I meet folks from all walks of life, and they share their stories with me. The Vanguard becomes the crossroads for these stories, a truly global platform of communication.

We become the 7th most viewed/replied thread in the Storm Clan sub-forum. Applications pour in, and roster "clean-ups" become much more frequent. I almost decide to kick Dash, but concede that I could still make use of him (JUST KIDDING DASHY ILU).

We partner up with gaming community Lux Eterna, and the Vanguard reaches the peak of its community engagement. Runehawk went on to become a multi-millionaire with six wives and private yacht. Which is actually all true, except for the money and the wives.

And the yacht.

*  *  *

On February 22nd of 2016, the Fallen Vanguard became a Mountain Clan. And Runehawk may or may not have shed a few tears.

Seriously, you folks are amazing. Absolutely fantastic. If you folks were a fruit, you would be a banana. Sweet, good for the health, and even tastier when you peel the skin off.

I didn't really think that through, but I digress.

We're making it big, ladies 'n' gents. You and I have a bright future ahead of us. To all players, both old and new, I welcome you to write this new chapter with me.

We've got a lot more pages to go.

Regards,

Runehawk

Tenno Thoughts - VioletRevolver

Oh look, a recruitment thread. Guess I should add some sort of snarky comment to get listed up on the main post. Uh.. let's see.

I'm LuxEterna's liaison to Vanguard. I've been in Vanguard since before most people even knew who I was. Came here from Mercenary Dragons, along with Dashy a few years ago. I co-founded LuxEterna two years ago along with a small collection of friends. A few have left, however the truly good friends are the ones that stay loyal. We pride ourselves on the community over the game. Games come and go as time does, but the people who play them are always going to be there.

A number of us had taken up slots within Vanguards already small numbers, it was decided that we would offer them a place to grow, as well as access to our Teamspeak. In return, we buffered their numbers with a collection of tightly knit Tenno. Lux Tenno are adaptable and persistent to a fault. If we can't kill it with our weapons, we punch the crap out of it. If we can't kill it with our fists, we order the Lotus to drop tactical Kubrow nukes on the planet from her deep space satellite.

But by far one of the most important things we teach, both in Lux and the Vanguard. Be flexible.

Lessons that come easy are not lessons at all. They are gracious acts of luck. Yet lessons learned the hard way, are lessons never forgotten. I've seen many people stick to the same gimmick or play style, refusing to change no matter what comes to face them. This is the sort of thing that causes a burn out, and bad habits. Repetition is your enemy.

Challenge yourself, use things you would never normally use. Handicap yourself in a mission and force a different style than what you are used to. Sure, it's going to be hard at first. However, I promise you. Knowing how to adapt to new challenges is not only going to help you in game, but in life as well.

P.S. Dashy is bad, and should feel bad.

Cheers!

I've been in this clan for a bit now, and these people are some of the friendliest, most helpful gents around. There's a nice mix of skill levels and timezones among the players, so even when I log in at two in the morning there's someone to hang out with. Research is started almost instantaneously, clan chat isn't just another trade chat, and people are always talking about something; it could be Warframe, it could be another game, it could be someone's S#&$ty day or their dumb cat. I love that there's a mix of hardcore and casual players, especially as a former leaderboard hero who varies wildly between "can't be bothered" and "if my focus isn't completely capped today my life is OVER". But most of all, I love the people.

These are the kind of laidback gamers I used to love inviting over for games like Smash and Four Swords, dudes you would split a pizza with and then spend a night yelling and laughing and being stupid. There was always something magical about those nights, just a blur of takeout and matchmaking lobbies and all of a sudden you looked at your watch and it was 4AM. It's pretty great here, and if you're on the fence or maybe you're thinking about joining a different clan, I would totally recommend you give this one a shot at least.

Hello my name is Dash, I'm that weird guy who's been here since the beginning that only uses his Orthos and Nezha.

I may not be the most helpful person around here anymore, but there will never be someone more Devoted and Loyal to our cause.

Despite all of my experience I actually don’t know as much about the workings of the game itself, I'm just really good at running really fast and swinging a stick around X)

I have more experience in Warframe than anyone here, and for around 2-3 years i’ve been using it to grow this clan into the proud brotherhood it deserves to be.

Greetings, my fellow Tenno. My name is Tantabus, the newest (and bestest) Legate in the Vanguard, and I’m also one of the few Tenno that actually enjoys Nyx (Nyx is bae). I’m the clan’s lead Raid Commander and the most serious guy here (besides maybe the guy below me [maybe you can’t even tell and I have done a better job ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ]). Anyway, I’m probably “the least interesting and straight-to-the-point” (read: savage) Legate you’ll find so if you need help with anything, be it the game or clan affairs, don’t be afraid to ask. I have no life so you’ll always find me when you need me. And I’ll also never be there for the important things because I’m probably asleep.

Hi, I’m Nytec, Archchancellor and licensed master baiter. I come from the winter wonderland of Canada and I enjoy ice fishing and riding polar bears. Of course Warframe is where I bring these skills to the table when it comes to slaying the enemy. I stood alongside Runehawk when we first built the Clan; it was just the two of us and a half-eaten Cinnabon. Today we stand in great numbers and that Cinnabon has its own dedicated room in the Dojo. I enjoy being a part of the Vanguard and spend my time lurking in the shadows and working behind the scenes.

A little bit about myself, I enjoy playing challenging platformers, rhythm based games and indie titles. I have been through many MMORPGs since my time online but Warframe is the one I keep coming back to. This is also probably the only normal introduction compared to the others but I love everyone nonetheless. My three measurements are B: 83, W: 57, H: 83.

“Well, that’s Derp in a nutshell. Nuts.”

So I am Derppening, one of the Archchancellors of the clan. I used to be the Raid Commander but due to timezone issues I gave my job to Predator. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I manage several clan-related issues, so feel free to contact me if you need any help on anything or just drop by and say hi! Also, I am always active on Discord, so if anyone needs me… You know where to find me.

By the way, this Metheria guy is not professional at all, and this Forizen guy is just bluffing 90% of the time. If you are able to correctly answer which of Forizen’s statements are true, you are automatically promoted to Class 3 Legionary. (nojk, but try doing that and you might get a small prize from me!)

Remember: When you see Master Runehawk, please deep bow and remain cool. Composure is more important than fanboying/fangirling.

Meet the Metheria: Recruitin’s a good job, mate! It’s challenging work. I guarantee you won’t go hungry. ‘Cause at the end of the day, as long as there are two people left on the forums, someone is gonna want in on Fallen Vanguard. Salt? Mate, you know who has salt? Blokes who complain endlessly to the devs. I’m a professional. Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan to recruit everyone you meet.

Look at that appears as though double drops are on. You know what's better than being a loser sitting in front of a computer screen killing some infested for loot alone? Being a loser sitting in front of a computer screen killing some infested for loot with other losers. So why not join Fallen Vanguard? I mean like sure you could go join other clans but they don't have usually a kickass fort made from floating bridges called Fort Kickass. Or even a deadbeat fool who actually thinks he's cool called wearing_socks. Nope, probably wouldn't even have a managerial structure where the higher ups are whipped by Runehawk if they disobey him!

But if you been paying any attention like you should you loser then you could probably work out we have all that stuff. But wait if you join right now you can be entitled to these benefits: A Heroin cookie, some Yaoi novel, a exclusive porno starring WaveM6, and can even hear wearing_socks crying in the corner sometimes! He might even be cutting himself, who knows?

But alas, sadly a certain someone told me I should be "serious" so let us just take a brief moment to give totally srs answers!

Spoiler

Q: Who is this wearing_socks? Why do you hate him?

A: He is actually a Legate. I'm not too sure how but he seems to have become the butt of jokes, but don't worry he doesn't know yet we are actually serious and not just joking!

Q: K what is Fort Kickass?

A: As a joke a contraption was put together made from bridges. It was supposed to be a joke and not actually made but people contributed resources anyway! Now it has become the pride and joy of the dojo.

Q: Why does Runehawk whip you? Is he a dominatrix?

A: Runehawk is our brave and valiant hero, smiting thee who commit sins. Our one leader who leads us on our path to Sovengard. He has indeed outlawed heresy and whips those who fail to not be a heretic!*

*Not praising Runehawk counts as heresy

Q: Any other benefits?

A: If you reach the rank of Centurion you are entitled to your own room in our dojo. You can decorate however you'd like.

Q: Are you some MLG Faze clan thing where you must participate in events, solar rails, etc?

A: Nope, it is a choice to do so.

Well I think that's quite enough, if that hasn't convinced you to apply I don't know what will!

We will send the Mafia after yo ! if you don't apply

.~Best Regards, Metheria <3

Chronicles of Forizen I - 12/03/15

Spoiler

CACTUS. CACTUS. CACTUS.

To those looking at the Fallen Vanguard as a potential clan and manage to find my post at the bottom of this thread, I have been in the clan for a month now and I've come to a description of my experience here. On a serious note, the Fallen Vanguard is a close knit brotherhood that through missions and raidcall alone I can call family. Anyone afraid of being burnt out on Warframe will find new joy in playing with newfound friends and allies with this clan. We all help each other out and come up with the most amazing unorthodox strategies, we go out of our way to have fun yet farm hard all at the same time. Our discussions on opinions of builds, frames and weapons grant unique perspectives as literally every individual I've ran into prefers a different weapon to another. We have by far the best melee combatant in all of Warframe who has mastered the mechanics around parkour and melee only, his only weakness being a lack of life strike that noob.

If you are interested in always having people to help you out, give you insight, anyone you want to be social with in a comfortable environment where everyone can make jokes, then please consider joining.

I want to reiterate the amount of flavor and newfound fun that raidcall adds to this game, without it, I see Warframe as a single player game where you may be blessed with strong rng allies, or weak.

Also if you join, these is this guy who spends his free time feeding ducks at the park and uses really lame weapons that suck like the silva and aegis. His name is wearing_socks and he goes out of his way to finish what he is saying but also is the Dory of our FInding Nemo group because he forgets it halfway. It is an absolutely mandatory requirement to make fun of him at every opportune moment. The best part about him is that he can take it and give it back.

If you are lacking in the gentlemen/intelligent department which most of you fu....ers......fun people are one of our glorious leaders Runehawk (or in some universes, Evilhawk) is probably the most profound and a quintessential part or our clan here. He can teach you high level vocabulary in a mellow tone that makes you think you are in a james bond movie without the british accent. Yes somehow it works don't ask how.

Like mentioned above, our melee expert person Dasheroo is.. well, more mind blowing than e-gate farming. I'll leave it at that. i would take more up of him if he ran life strike which he doesn't. Spoiler alert, he uses shield flux.

There are those that I don't see nearly as often but are always a pleasure to play and joke around with. Metheria is quiet but always there to help, WaveM6 has been around forever and shows of his excal prime all day long, nakebeast *cough* i mean Superbeast is always great to have around as he is an avid socks basher, and boy does the list go on.

Deep down our players are very strong veterans who know the majority of important aspects in the game and we have a very avid system being constructed for upcoming raids.

Lastly, if you EVER EVER EVER EVER struggle in the game and need help solving, finishing, or doing anything, or maybe just need advice on the game. We have very very professional and insightful help as mentioned above. An array of veterans who specialize in multiple if not all kinds of weaponry who have been able to rack up enough experience to forma their known weapons 3 dozen times. The best advice that all of us can give you which pretty much answers every known question or help needed in the entire Warframe universe, and  All you need to do to solve your problem in this game is to

GET GOOD AT THIS GAME.

On an even less serious note, I wrote a poem.

From noob to pro from friend to foe and platinum for all the worthy.

Upside-down chandalleourrs and man are we all nerdy.

The more I interrupt you, the more i know it bothers you, and the funnier it becomes.

- can't spell long words like smiles cause there is a mile in between and i'm lazy.

-Greedy pull is by far the best augment in the entire game, I don't care what you say nor do i care that this poem isn't rhyming or matching syllable counts at all because writing and poems can be whatever they want it's just sometimes they will be considered bad without rhythm.

-Our clan emblem is way cooler than any other emblem i have seen taking all the concept arts of anything and everything of all the clans and alliances and everything combined

-Cactus, cactus, cactus do the kids come with the party package and if you are a supporter of the marine corp then come support John Cena and we wont call you 22 more times.

I need sleep. No I'm not smoking anything. Yes it's good s***

Spoiler

WELCOME NEW PEEPS. Please spam-chat clan-chat so that i can spam-yell at you to get on raid-call.

I highly recommend it. Even if you dunt like talking or listening to can mute both those options. There is a guy on the call who may or may not be wearing socks at any given point in the day who we all mute when he rambles and we just go "oh yeah" or "totally man"  or "i know what you mean". Some people even mute his mic specifically.

We also have sepearte call rooms! with just one.. erm... two.. erm.. one double click.. you can go to a private squad room if you want to diminish the number of people!!!

ALSO. U16 incoming! I'm at work unfortunately and have to fire a lot of people today so I won't be there for you NA/SA players who will be asleep by the time i get to U16 but have fun with Chroma! I should have my Chroma 5 formad by the time you wake up maybe not really.

Which begs the question, I don't understand this "sleep" thing everyone talks about, it's like cryostasis. Which gives me the shivers pun intended. I don't want memory loss nor a loss of 4-10 hours a day depending on how lazy you are. If you sleep 8 hours a day that means 1/3 of your day is GONE to do NOTHING. Which means 1/3 of your LIFE  IS PUT TO SLEEP (HAH IM SO F'N FUNNY, OR DOES F'N MEAN FUNNY SO I'M JUST FUNNY FUNNY)

Oh god I need some sleep.

WAIT, JK JK I DON'T KNOW WHAT SLEEP IS, EXPRESSOS ARE MY LIFEBLOOD.

Lastly Fallen Vanguard, I love all of you and can't wait to shoot up some bit.... ple..... people. WIth all of you!

I hope you have been taking lessons from Dasheroo.

I actually forgot what I was going to say but I have a rule to where I can't stop writing until my train of thought is actually finished and not left incomplete cause i have a bad habit of it so I'ma just keep typing until I remember that last thing i was going to say about.. something i lost my train of thought again OHYEAH

YEAH. YEAHHH. YEAHH!?!?!?!??!!

And if you can't make it to group phots then we will just say you are loki/ash! and we can't see you xD

ON ONE FINAL NOTE. COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND NON-OFFICIAL MEETING FOR OUR CLAN ON RAID CALL AT 5PM GMT UNTIL I PASS OUT AND DIE FROM LACK OF REDBULL AND VODKA AND CAFFIENE.

I'm off to fire people for the Resources of Humans.

Spoiler

I feel nocturnal. The obstacles of the timezone difference is a difficult one in our busy lives.

Maybe I'll be extra corny and record vlogs for the Clan or do hand-written letters to a designated clan address.

If/when i do a Warframe montage of cool stuff, it's all going to be orchastrated (DID I SPELL THAT RIGHT?!) to the Frozen theme song so no one can take me seriously when my Dread decapitates someone.

---------------------

OCD Moment, has anyone noticed that it says ©2014 Digital Extremes Ltd

This is bothering me greatly.

---------------------

Anyone who happens to get to this line who is considering joining the Fallen Vanguard, i will continue to state that our clan is debatably the most diverse and accepting of all clan's clans in the whole clan WoW. (World of Warframe).  We have newbies that are able to build Boltor Prime before Mastery rank 3 and Veterans who refuse to stop using the Gorgon. We have people from ALL, AROUND, Earth, and don't let the low level mobs from that planet fool you.

In fact, our clan is like a pair of socks. One will fit no matter what, even if it isn't on your feet.

No wait that sounds bad,

what about our clan is like a box of choc..

hmmm

our family clan is like a brotherhood that is like an international cartel mafia gang of no specific nation.

okokokok I found the BEST ANALOGY.

The Fallen Vanguard is like Vegeta after the Frieza Saga, when nobody thought that he could go Super Saiyan and that Goku was the only one who could go Super Saiyan cause you have to have a pure heart. People just didn't know that Vegeta has a pure heart. Pure unadulterated bad***sery.

So we are like Vegeta, and Frieza is like that ONE MOON CLAN on Xbox where they took over the Solar Rails, and then Goku is DE where they dictate everything and are stupidly the most powerful ones ever all the time even though not the smartest cookie in the cookie jar.

I'm hungry now and this writing is all from the excess of coffee I had to drink.

Spoiler

Epilogue: Forizen went on to do absolutely nothing in life, so he came back to the Fallen Vanguard. Actually, he never left. He's...still here. Join the Fallen Vanguard today , and you too, can suffer endlessly through the sands of time   make friends with the infamous Clan Clown.

‘Ello there; I’m WaveM6, as the fancy nameplate suggests. I’m the Vanguard’s second-in-command and acting Brigade General while Rune’s away. I’m an EMS supervisor by day and a platinum hoarder 24/7. Most of the guys/gals here know me as “That One Guy with Absurd Amounts of Platinum.” I’ve been with the Vanguard since its transition to Storm tier. Thanks to Rune’s kind graces and maybe lapses in judgement, I climbed the ranks to where you see me today. I’m very proud of the community that many of us call home and I’ll continue to see it grow and expand as time progresses.

I was waiting for that, aha. Much obliged, Wave.

Now that our doors are wide open, I'd like to remind everyone that all new members must go through the application process. We're eventually going to have three hundred Tenno to keep track of, and I'd much rather have everyone on the radar now than later. Nytec, I'm counting on you to maintain the database alongside Metheria.

Dash and Forizen, I'm leaving it to you to ensure that new members receive the TS3 credentials shortly after their admittance (refrain from posting the details in this thread). Activity on the server itself is by no means mandatory, but try to at least get people introduced and accustomed to our friends over at Lux Eterna.

Wave and Metheria are the primary fronts for handling member applications. Dash and Forizen, I encourage you to also comment on applications made here and just engage in general conversation every now and then. The point is to keep things flowing, make everyone feel comfortable, and ensure our thread's visibility isn't compromised.

Forizen, let me know if you want to go about setting up dedicated time slots for Conclave sessions, and if you want to go about organizing a sort of structure. I can create graphics and updated this thread if needed.

All of you keep an eye out for anyone who might be a good fit to Council. I'd still like to have a dedicated Raid Commander / Deputy, and perhaps one or two more people focused on Conclave facilitation.

That's all for now, methinks. Keep doin' what you folks do best.

Great Clan, took me in when I was wandering, lost and alone, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, my only regret is the whippings I endured before I learned not to argue with Dash about his Orthos and Metheria about his Obegoat.... All jokes aside, great bunch (even Dash), easily the most well rounded and balanced Clan/Guild I've ever been a part of, theres always people online and everyone just enjoys playing the game, whether you wanna run a T4 Survival for 2 hours, farm the latest event, Conclave, or just have a reliable squad of good fun players, FV has always got you covered.

Hi, I was looking for a clan and stumbled across this post.

I'm currently mastery rank 13. (but damm if I'm gonna stop there)

My timezone is CET (Central Europa Time)  UTC/GMT +1

So about myself, I'm currently a college student living alone. I have been playing Warframe for over 3 years now, still going strong, i do have a love for hack'n'slash games so Warframe is a great fit. I'm a very chill guy and got a great humor if i should say so myself. I'm very friendly and love to help, if there should be a need for it. Now that i think about it, there isn't really much to say about myself... well i love diet coke and sprinkled donuts. I think this game is best enjoyed in a community such as a clan and that is why I'm am applying to this clan, because it looks just like a clan i would enjoy to be in.

As to what i can bring to the clan, other than my great personality and dank memes. Would generally be my dedication to what ever i set it on, such at helping new players, recking scrubs in conclave or simply helping the clan as a whole.

I hope we can get along.

I would very much like to join your great looking clan. At first I just wanted gear but reading about your clan made me think I could join this community and play with others that I could get to know not just the people who come and go on public searches. I would like to join to both get help and help others. I can match most play styles so I can help anyone.

Hello, Luxiss! Our minimum Mastery Rank requirement is 5, but it will honestly take you no time at all to get there. Get back to us when you hit that milestone, and we'd be happy to bring you into the Clan. When you do return, however, please structure your post in accordance to the application form in the original post.

Hope to see you soon, friend.

EDIT: Looks like you're still in a Clan! Please let use know when you have left and are ready for an invitation.

At first I just wanted gear but reading about your clan made me think I could join this community and play with others that I could get to know not just the people who come and go on public searches. I would like to join to both get help and help others. I can match most play styles so I can help anyone.

MR:5

Pacific time zone

I'm online at least onec a day at random times on my current schedule.

Well met, Poisonx3. It would be great to have you with us. I'll send an invite your way when I get back online. If one of our Legates see this, they'll send the invite in my steed.

Be sure to get that Dojo Key building in your Foundry, and one of us will give you a tour as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you can get Teamspeak installed if you haven't already. It's a quick and quiet program that won't take long to install. Ask any one of us for the server credentials when you catch us online.

We look forward to working with you, Poison!

Master Rank 14

My timezone is EST

At the moment, I am attending my final year of high school mainly studying into Njrotc in school. I'm planing on going to college and then joining the military.

Good to have you on board, my friend. We've sent an invite your way. Get that Dojo Key building, and I'll run you through a tour the next I catch you online.

I'd like to join up, if there's room for me!

Mastery Rank is 10.

Time zone is EST.

I'm in college and working part time, so my activity is kinda all over the place, but I try to keep consistent with logins.

I'm usually up for whatever in terms of group content so if the clan is doing a group run of something I'm happy to fill in spots or jump in to help people farm for stuff that's not dropping for them when I'm on and have some free time. (I'm not a huge fan of PvP stuff in most games so Conclave might not be something I'll always want to jump into though. =/)

I like how your clan sounds and I'd like to join up.

I hit Mastery Rank 7 a couple days ago. Currently focusing more on missions than MR grinding.

I'm in the Pacific time zone and am usually on in the mornings and evening for a bit after I get off work. I should be going to to school for my bachelor's in May so my play time will change then.

Always willing to help people grind for something, be it resources or mods. I have only been playing a few weeks but I already know the grind is real. Also happy to do group stuff whether it's missions, void runs, or vault runs.
