Devstream 69 Overview

PC Update 18.5 is getting closer, which means Devstream 69 is the perfect time for the team to give a peek behind the development veil!  Don't worry, everyone's decent.

This week we took a look into some of the new enemies and mechanics that will be featured in Update 18.5, including some incredible Kavat animations and a serious upgrade to lighting and smoke FX.

Mag Rework

We don't have too many details available but we do have a rework that's being developed for Mag's Abilities. More info into this polarizing rework should be available on our next Devstream.

^Rebecca's influence is too strong on the office.

Also dat Oberon skin. Although I fear his heels are too small in comparision to our normal Oberon.


Also Pharaoh Frame and Spy Moon missions hype. Adam, I was wondering if you could upload one of the screens shown in the devstream that was showing the console to hack? It was looking from above/a ledge and you could see the chamber there. It looked georgous.

I'd rather have mandatory mods finally taken out.
Even those that would become must have after the removal of those that are now (meaning that crit mods, elemental mods [more like getting secondary 4 slots for elemental mods] etc.])
And multishot nerf.
That's what should be the number one priority in my opinion.

Focus Mastery should DEFINATELY be reviewed. Does not seem worth wasting so much focus for 15 seconds. Maybe could be changed to percentage or 45 seconds for each focus mastery unlocked. Not too far fetched. Whatever they decide will most likely be better than how it is now.

QoL Updates comments:

- mid-mission save - pretty late implementing this IMO, but tis fine as long as it works well.

- VFX upgrades hopefully don't fry my systems

- Holster positions - so some holster positions make drawing weapons fast, others slow? Then players would, again, choose over function over form (arcane essence loki helmet, the submarine, for example)

- Ability scaling - no comment, gonna have to see what is brought

- Kavats - hopefully the new AI can compete with what the current sentinels can offer

- Mummyframe - Looks like a Nekros-esque frame IMO. Also, seems hard to bring in higher-leveled missions. Initial feedback only though.

- Focus review - Rebalance focus gain system, enough said.

- Moon tileset expansion - IMO should play Orokin Void music while in the "Orokin" theme and another music in the "Moon" theme.

- No mention of starmap in overview? Hopefully it comes out by 18.5 as well, voids are getting worse IMO (rewards-wise).

In summary, hopefully 18.5 is worth the wait.

I agree. Already have and "death" warframe. Should have went full pharaoh if that was the route they were going.  Looks a bit cartoony, should have had old wraps, more like a dead warframe with bones would have been better as well. Just all over the place with it. May catch on with newer Tenno. But other Tenno may lean towards other warframe with similar abilities.

Would be cool if he would summon a swarm of scarabs from his body that crawled on the floor and attacked the  enemies, summoned mummy soldiers instead of "minions", and cause a sand storm with slight buff to his speed and allies while confusing enemies in the storm. Similar abilities to the movie "the mummy". The soldiers stats can be similar to atlas golems, sand storm would be similar to frost, yet instead of moving enemies slower, moves him and allies faster. Can also have a move like rhino's charge. Instead would be more of a bullet jump but moves as a cloud of sand. Would make him much more interesting and unique instead of goofy looking and kind of vague. Maybe even when he falls, he falls into his sarcophagus then comes out when he is revived and gets buried into quick sand if he dies. Just a few ideas.

this is way better then the ideas at hand...and the look of him, he literally looks like a mix of nekros and ash? wth DE? are we going to have another chroma helmet moment? please rework ...there is no rush...take your time with him he looks lame..And listen to latin soldier his idea sound more bad &#! then...raising the dead (cough nekros)

Looks like they took almost all of my suggestions lol. YESSS he seems WAYYY cooler now!!! DEFINATELY going to be my new frame of choice!
