normal raid can be complete by only 2 frames and randoms. EV or Bless Trinity AND a blind Mirage. but i rarely see anyone really get that out. Actually Bless trin is more important than EV because resistance to toxic. EV can be replaced by 1 loki carry and large pizza (4 total in first phase), or if you dont want, get 2 loki, 800 mana energy is enough to charge the bomb (i guess so?). 800 mana = 2 any caster frames with flow equiped. I first joined a raid with a host with voice chat, so it easy to know what to do in less time possible => problem lies in COMMUNICATION, just like every online games. (Dota for example, and i extremely hate players who mocking experienced players when they trying to help people with pre-intermediate english. For whoever out there and read my post, if you think english is what determine the level of intelligent, then you better off go teach english for down syndrome patients.)

p/s: if you are newbies, just do as they say and look around, i did it 2 times and figured out how to do it with some basic tricks. Trying to make you look "pro" by ruining the whole match is just prove you are real noobs. we have 2 diffirent words for diffirent reason : newbie and noob.

First time raiding was awful. it was LoR Normal

Part 1. Nobody explains nothing. Completely pedestrian experience, Just kept mashing 4 to disarm.

Part 2. I get some directions. "Just hack." Never told me what to hack, Blew the puzzle at least twice.

Part 3. See part 1

Well, I can't complain on the first introduction to the LoR

It's really bad in "some" cases.

My first raid was a terrible experience - yelling in the chat, no one explaining anything, then people just quitting. I looked at the guide, however I personally learn both visually and it really sticks when I learn kinesthetically. I asked the chat before the mission if there could be at least two people who have done it before to help explain stuff. I got none of that.

Hmmm... can't say I have done a raid, and I don't think I have a desire to do so. (Not because I think it's terrible or anything like that.)

Namely because I don't really like long missions, and well... the thought of losing connection during one is... terrifying. XD

imo, the best way to introduce somebody to raid is to have them have ears. If they can listen to someone, even if they haven't watched Mogamu's video or read the wikia, can usually make it go well. A good amount of my raids I host myself, and most of them(even if they have no idea what they are doing) I have them run low priority roles (Booben mostly, and some other frames) and have them watch what other, more experienced people are doing. I tend to, at a max, have 2 unexperienced people to 4 experienced, usually the exp running the crucial frames (bless, ev, disco, bomb carrier of some type) and just have them observe what is going on, and do their job (if booben I just tell them spam 3 everywhere lol)

Accurate. My first LoR raid was within the first week of its release. Everyone was a headless chicken. pretty sure it also took well over 1hr. Unlike nowadays 30mins.

And then there was Jordas Verdict. Technically not our fault since it was plagued with bugs that meant it was impossible to clear (im looking at you vapour).

Well, it basically listening, but preparation really helps, I can't tell 7-3 people what to do exactly when I'm using text chat. I don't want them to ask tons of questions.

For LoR, my clan was (emphasis on was) avid for teaching new guys to raid and stuff, and later I took on the role of teacher.

For JV, me and my clannies were part of the exploration team, one of the firsts to do and finish the raid.

My first raid was me as Loki disarm and no carry. They said me if I did a stupid mistake or did not listen what was going on ,well get hunted. I know they weren't serious about second paart but I did not want people to go crazy cuz of me so I did my job very carefully. And got through it. Now when I do raids I only conduct 4 man raids. At max 6 if some friend wanna join.

Did my first raid today

was hanging out in recruiting chat, bored, waiting for limbo chassis to craft in the foundry after farming void for an argon crystal to start the crafting process.

some dude in chat said that he was streaming and  that he was hosting a Law of Retribution raid and that he was open to teaching new players.

I have never watched a video on raids (meaning I had no prior knowledge of how raids worked; the most I knew at the time was that it was a very difficult mission which held 8 users and that the enemies were very high level so cc was paramount) , but it looked like fun (and I was bored) so I pm'd him. He asked me what frame, I said Trinity, he invited me in.

our comp was like 2 trinities (both prime, both EV, I was one of them), 1 mirage (blind mirage), 2 vaubans, 1 frost (prime) and a bunch of lokis (all prime). We waited until a full 8 users were in lobby. I think I was the 2nd lowest MR at 13, the lowest was our leader with an MR of 9. The most common gun (which I counted in the lobby while waiting for the lobby to fill as the leader recruited more people) was the Vaykor Marelok (I also had one, I think there were 4 of them). Although the guns used I think didn't actually matter; no-one actually shot their guns much during the whole raid-except for the end when fighting the Terra frame.

Before we actually went in, he made sure to communicate to us in voice chat and checked so that we could all hear his instructions. Only one guy couldn't hear him, but fortunately he already had experience doing raids before, so all he requested in chat was "to waypoint the doors" (which I had no idea what he meant by that at the time, it's actually something important for final bossfight at the end with the Terra frame).

The leader in chat explained that we were to kill as little as possible- the users with the most kills will be the trinities cause EV spam. Everyone else just ccs and follows instructions. At the end of the raid, I think the grand total of kills collectively shared by the 8-man squad was no larger than 40.

According to the leader, we actually went through the whole raid very smoothly and easily. Whenever someone was downed, they would be revived within 5 seconds. The first phase was everyone clumping up together moving like a giant mob, with the trinities EVing and blessing whenever someone's health bar got low through the shields, and the Vaubans Bastilling literally everything. When the leader asked for a squadmate to stand on a pressure plate, 75% of the time they would already be on the plate. The leader was really good with waypoints and coordinating the squad. His instructions were very clear about important events such as the 2nd phase where all 8 users must stand on a plate, and if any of us step off the plate we all die, or his instructions on how to do the phase where we had to hijack a core and that we had to stand on certain plates to disable electricity blocking the rail and for some reason the gustrag 3 were there, or even how to go through the doors in the first phase.

In the end I got a Sevati Sekhara shoulder badge and an arcane eruption (I have no idea what that does), and most awesome of all- 178k credits! for like 3 missions! Sweet profit, that's a lot of credits. I think the raids are the most credits I've ever gotten out of a mission.

All in all, my first raid was very enjoyable and quite interesting, it went off without struggle and was quite rewarding!

I was something like MR18 before I even tried LoR.  I read the wiki, made sure I had tons of pizzas, joined a PUG, and played the simplest role: EV Trin.  It took a lot of runs to learn where all the consoles and pads were, and by that point I was confident enough to play any role.  The nightmare hijack stage still gives me cold sweats though.

JV is still kind of a clusterfrick with all the glitches and bugs, but I still recommend playing the EV role, or maybe Nekros, to learn the ropes.
