(Spoilers) Is Hunhow The Leader of Sentients?

So I was thinking about how everyone was doing theories about Hunhow, and then I started thinking.

In Natah, he says this:

  • You betrayed us. As I awake, so will they. They will say you're riven and want to reclaim you. I will not be able to stop them.

By this he could be referring to those under him, and he could be overruled by his subordinates, or he has someone above him that will force him to. Since Sentient reproductive methods are unknown, and if Hunhow is this:

latest?cb=20160119005302

Or a person like Lotus inside this ^.

We already know that Hunhow is big by the trailers, cinematics, and by StallordD's video:

So if Hunhow has a parent then he could be even bigger than Hunhow, and that Hunhow may have siblings. Also, he states that he is "Hunhow, the sentient destroyer of worlds" which means that Sentient leaders could be assigned titles like destroyer of worlds, or it is a self given title. What also disturbs me is the possible presence of a massive amount of Sentients that may be still in Tau, and the possibility of them creating a non-void way to get back to the Origin system. One Hunhow is already a problem, and if there are others like him then we are kinda screwed.

I think it's more along the lines of a sort of council. Makes an appropriate parallel where both margulas and natah are targeted by their own people and someone important to them (ballas/hunhow) are unable to grant them salvation from their attackers.

He seemed to take a major shift in attitude toward Lotus between Natah and Second Dream though.

I doubt Hunhow is the leader of the Sentients at large.  Certainly now, as he's been dead for centuries, perhaps millenia.  More likely he and his kind were purpose bred warriors.  A single consciousness controlling an army or fleet in real time solves so many communication and logistic problems that could be disastrous in a war if mishandled.

Hunhow is likely a weapon/army sent to facilitate the Sentients' plan to destroy the Orokin.  He is a massive threat, but one that can be defeated, breeding a sense of trust in the Tenno that Natah was bending to her will.  Other Sentients' could well be radically different between the time that has passed and the difference in purpose they serve.

There's certain to be some, probably many kinds of non-combat Sentient, but I doubt that they will have become pacifist as a species; especially once they find out Natah did not complete her mission.  It may not be worth their time however to mount another full scale assault if their scouts find that the Orokin have been reduced to 3 warring factions fighting over scraps and a mutagenic plague with a bad attitude.

They could well leave our destruction to the resurgent Hunhow, or send a new brood to finish what his clearly could not.  The latter is a worrying case to consider; but we won't know for a while yet.  Perhaps when the supposed conjunction from the War Within trailer comes to pass we'll have our answers.

Crewman synthesis : origions of the sentient

Spoiler

They opened the chamber door just in time for me too see it happen; the Archimedian erupting into a flash, jade-like and blinding. I knew her. She was the greatest scholar of genetics who ever lived. Except now she was nothing but mist and gore.

A voice boomed from within, "The Crewmen project is cancelled. Send in the next."

The rifles at my back tried to urge me inside. Old faces filled the dome's projections, immense and god-like. I walked into the center of the room and the scorched scent choked my lungs. All around me they watched, bored, as I knelt upon the darkened judgement disc.

The projection of Executor Ballas swelled large in front of me. I could see his purity, his symmetry, the beauty of his glittering gold irises. His voice thundered, "The principles are clear. Your sentence is death. May the Void forgive you."

As the judgement disc began to light I stood, took a deep breath and spoke, "She will not forgive you."

Laughter broke out among the faces of the dome. Other's asked "what did he say?" Ballas only smiled, "You challenge us, Archimedian?"

"I do. Kill me and the Empire you are sworn to uphold dies with me."

Ballas turned his head as the judgement disc went suddenly dark. "An appeal comes at a price. Should you fail, you and your corpus will pay dearly."

"They already suffer in this growing wasteland. They have already paid. Will you also sacrifice the royal futures by ignoring my solution?"

"Your solution is an abomination, like you, it will be annihilated." Ballas motioned to a guard in the corner, "Present the evidence."

The chamber doors opened and a mass of guards entered, guns trained inward. As they reached the center, they parted, revealing a small cart. Atop the cart was a motionless creature, no larger than a hand. Its body was symmetrical, star-shaped with a seamless, matte-black shell.

A new projection, that of the Executor Tuvul ballooned into the space, "It looks harmless."

"Harmless?" Ballas boomed into Tuvul's direction. He turned to the center of the dome. "Show them."

On command, the guards backed away from the cart and readied their weapons. Their leader took careful aim and fired a whisper round into the body of my creation. Two of the limbs tore off the frame revealing a glossy, gelatinous interior.

Silence gripped the dome as Tuvul shook his head. Then suddenly, the creature moved, convulsed, the hard surface started undulating. In a moment the wound closed and the thing was whole again. Beside it another machine had grown from its severed parts. Their surface had changed however - brighter, harder, resilient to whisper rounds now.

Ballas looked triumphant as voting lights began to appear on the judgement disc.

My green death was coming, so I roared at them, "Did our ancestors, burned by fire, reject is power? No. They conquered their fear and learned to control it. The Seven Principles are a joke."

His projection swooped down to me, "The Orokin is the law and the law is the Orokin. We are unbending. Your appeal is denied."

Tuvul interrupted, "Our laws are sacred but do not forget The Plan, Ballas." His visage turned down to me, "Countless other ventures have failed The Plan, how will this machine fulfill its design?"

I tried to catch my breath and speak, "The crossing to the Tau system is perilous. Adaptation and replication are the only way a terraforming journey can be made. They will build an interstellar rail as they travel, they will adapt to the host planet and prepare it to our arrival. They will save you."

Tuvul peered down at me, "And when it completes its task, what will prevent it from turning against us, as the Seven Principles say?"

"The flaw"

Tuvul's eyes narrowed, "The flaw?"

"The Void is poison to them. Once they have reached Tau they will be marooned there. To travel the rail here would destroy them. Whatever the risk, the Origin system will be-"

Ballas shouted, "Enough! Dereliction of the law threatens the entire empire. Which one of you will risk this?" Ballas was growing increasingly frustrated.

"The empire is already at risk," cried the shrill voice of another Executor, "Or perhaps you haven't noticed from your cozy position on Mars." To this there was a round of applause and the judgement disc remained unchanged.

"Ballas, you lack consensus." shouted Executor Tuvul.

His projection seemed to shrink smaller until he finally broke his silence, "Archimedian Perintol, against my better judgement," his disgust was palpable, "Your appeal has been accepted. You are free to go."

One by one the projections of each Executor in the Tribunal flickered off and the guards ushered me into the hall. There I stood, rapt with shock when I heard his footsteps behind me.

"You did better than I thought you would," it was Ballas, the man, not the projection. "It would seem nobody truly knows they want a thing until you threaten to take it away." He broke into a smile, "Wouldn't you agree, Archimedian?"

Archimedian is the creator /inventor of the sentient race

-sentients themselves replicate  like a starfish, break off lost pieces and a new one grows from those lost parts

when hunhow states "with wombs in ruin" its due tot he toxic effect of the void, and that hurts them in a similar way to radiation to humans (i.e cause infertility , mutation in cell replication, not able to)

I personally dont see him as a leader of all sentients, but in charge of the ones that are in the origin system seems likely.

the leader(s) would be the original sentient drone(s) that gained sentience on tau ..and replicated children who were also self aware (and so on so forth to create the sentient race ) think replicators .....

my personal interest is with how stalker was able to gain the powers of sentients from hunhow

the typical sentients we see on the moon , are nothing more then baby sentients in drone state, not consciously aware or as much as papa hunhow

we can only assume hunhow is a much further developed sentient then the ones we fight, other sentients on tau are probably equal to him, if not greater

The origin system is in a state of war right now; trying to kill itself.  Hunhow was a threat to the Orokin when they were united, so if he can pull himself back together in even a fraction of his former power then he's a massive threat that needs to be handled.  During the Old War the Orokin had essentially unlimited resources and tech bordering on magic.  Now the most advanced infantry weapon widely available is a glorified laser rifle the size of a large vacuum cleaner.  We've fallen far, and we've fractured our unity.  We're weak and vulnerable, even to a damaged Sentient like Hunhow.

If this is him damaged I don't want to see him at full strength.

Summoning @StallordD the loremaster.

That shouldn't be possible anymore thankfully.  I interpreted the statement that Sentients' are left barren by the Void to mean he can't make new fragments of himself.  If that's the case then he can be beaten.  If I'm wrong and it just means he cannot produce new 'children' like Natah then we have much bigger problem on our hands.

Well the original ones from Detron Crewman synthesis were starfish with gelatinous insides, and if they are part machine part living tissue its possible they evolved if they are hybrids.

They have evolved; void energy was lethally toxic to them, that was the failsafe in their creation.  By the time of the Old War they evolved to a point that it was no longer lethal, to some broods anyway, and instead left them unable to reproduce.  Hunhow hasn't adapted since he was killed as far as we know, so he is fighting using fragments from the Old War.  That gives us a slim advantage now, since our skills and weapons have evolved since then.  If he can somehow gain ground and start actually adapting to the new world he awoke to then we'll have a much tougher fight on our hands.

DE confirmed that Hunhow was gonna be the leader for the Sentient faction at NYCC 2015 but I dont know if that means he will be their overall leader or just the leader for the Sentients in the Origin system. I certainly would love to see more Sentient characters.

Even if he is the leader that doesn't mean there can't be more characters.  Other broods, perhaps children of his like Natah even

Your phrasing looked to me like it was contingent on Hunhow not being the leader.  Seems I misread your meaning.  I agree more Sentient characters would be interesting.  So we can get some other perspectives on their culture.

The leaders are on Tau. He is just one of the "generals" i think. They have got hierarchy because: "I am Hunhow, Sentient DESTROYER OF WORLDS"  So he has got a role. We will see more Sentient characters when DE will work on Tau and this is most likely U30-ish.

C'mon dude, there is completely no evidence that he destroyed any worlds. What we know is that he GOT REKT, in fact he's such a loser that even his own daughter tries to distance from him.

Obviously no enemy would say "hey, I am Hunhow, I am a wuss", you got to sound big to scare the opponents poopless and brag of stuff you've never done.

Another thing I thought of is since Hunhow doesn't seem concerned about the amount of Conculysts and Battlysts he sends at us he might be able to make more and isn't concerned about running out.

makes sense

Here is the catch! He let them destry him in order to complete the plan Lotus was up to when she was Natah.
