Soon enough, Bloom was standing near her dropship, which still was docked in the city. An entire table appears, complete with several distinguished people drinking tea.

"If you will excuse me gentlemen." Tak says, rising from the table and sending it back. "Do you require aid Major?"

Philip lands gracefully.

Alan lands hard but recovers quickly.

Dixon engages his active camoflage and moves to scout ahead, dancing around tendrils and tripwires as if it were child's play. It quickly becomes apparent why Alan wanted him along. He is able to move forward quickly where the rest of the group has to watch its step.

Some of the "deposits" shoot their barrage of sharp energized minerals seemingly randomly; some of them touch Dix's shields. The lesser veins twitch and search for violators chaotically. The two heavily barricaded by intertwining tendrils doorways make the hall look like a trap filled with traps and obstacles like various workbenches. The good thing: there is a locked storage with fuel tanks showing up from beneath the grates. The bad thing: the mentioned storage is overrun with armed neural nodes, marking the idea of "disarming" them via firearms as a potentially suicidal one. Another bad thing: there are strange noises coming from the holes in the ceiling.

Siger blocked one of the shards flying his way with the flamberge and commanded, "Phil - cover me, Alan - shoot the nodes along my way". He slashed one of to the neural sentry tendrils on his path, rolled below the whipping lash of another one and recovered near one of the heavy workbenches, grappling it and trying to tear it off the floor

In a calm and polite voice that almost makes you think he might agree, Tak says.

"That, my dear, seems to be a lack of planning on your part. I am a shaman, not a taxi."

He bows politely and leaves you standing there, returning to the part in a flash of golden light.

After the flash, Bloom's fake smile slowly faded, stating that she ran out of ideas. She attempted to think of the alternative options, but it appeared that they are either too far-fetched or simply unrealistic. With rather mixed emotions and thoughts of what should she do with this situation, she changed back to her more natural armament and lifted the aircraft to dock it later into the landed mothership. Even if she fails to act as a socialite, she ain't gonna fail with her main duties.

The Kirin takes off at a fast pace through the woods, moving faster than any other animal you have seen. The ground shakes and as a behemoth steps into its path. The Kirin trots to a halt as the behemoth turns to look down at you, its massive limbs shifting. The kirin inclinces its head slightly and then waits.

After a few tense minutes, the behemoth rumbles and proceeds on its way.

A few minutes later the Kirin stops at the edge of a grass covered cliff. It steps towards the ledge before it, as if to walk down, then nervously steps back and whinies. It seems reluctant to proceed any further.

Sarah looks over the edge.  "T-thats a long w-way down.  D-dont suppose y-you can fly?"

It seems to take your words as encouragement and begins stepping down the slope. Despite the sharp incline it seems to easily navigate the ledge. There are strange flickers of motion down in the crater and even the hairs on Sarah's ethereal form begin to raise. A sense of foreboding hangs over the place.

Dixon rolls over to where you are and grabs a leg of the table to help lift it, his kavat and Philip's Kubrow leap at tendrils, trying to force them back with tooth and claw.

Philip backs towards you, slicing with supernatural speed at any tendrils that come close, his twin blades seeming more like four or five.

Alan clears the way for you, making sure to strike the nodes from angles that will direct their bursts away from you.

With some cooperative efforts, the detached workbench turns into an improvised siege shield. The heavy pushed the turned over bench forward, literally bulldozing the way to the locker that was overgrown with neural nodes. most of the shots were taken by the flat surface of the bench. When approaching the locker, he accelerated to perform a ram. The whole cluster of neural nodes shot simultaneously upon impact, sinking their sharp "loads" into the "ram's" flat surface. At the same time the nodes got damaged, the indescribable sound of something big and mechanical howled down from the holes in the ceiling. That didn't seemed to stop the heavy tho: he forcefully rammed the locker for two times with his "workbench-shield", almost quashing the door. However, a huge glowing "tendril" suddenly mounted down from one of the upper holes and strongly hit him, making the bulky frame fly away for three meters and sending the improvised "ram" in another direction.

Even though taken by surprise, the heavy knew that whenever you are about to hit the ground, roll further in order to evade a finishing strike. This particular wisdom that had been ingrained into his muscle memory saved him from the massive tendril's downward blow. The persistent tie of high-tech neural cables attempted to grab him by the leg and to make him lose the balance, but even though it did manage to coil around his lower limb, the mighty downward slash cut it's pesky tip.

With this hit, the sound recurred again. The lights of other tendrils -except those blocking both exits - lit brighter and they began to flail more aggressively. The massive neural tendril decided to coil back to the locker, either randomly or knowingly threatening to hit anyone approaching the nearly undoored stash with explosives barrels. When the mechanical "wail" faded down, a certain weird noise persisted - the clank of something clockwork-based crawling down through the ceiling holes.

The machine-pistol-shaped gun shots quick triple burst of high-caliber rounds. The moa loses one of its legs and a bit of torso in an instant and helplessly falls down. The recoil seems to be unnaturally low for this caliber due to the mechanical amortization of the power suit.

"MK II Tavor. The close-range sidearm with two fire modes - the phasically-chained bursts and the full-auto tripplets. 30 rounds per a magazine. Changeable barrel and receiver. The default caliber is the same of lex series, so this bulldog makes the victims feel bricks piercing through them and messing their guts. I don't recommend to use it without the armor, unless you want to break your sodding collarbones. You might try to use it as the main caliber without the armor, but such trick ain't gonna work with the thunder tube hanging on this grunt's back"

The Archon nods approvingly, and holsters it, grabbing the Opticor styled "main gun".

"Deploying targeting moa's." An automated voice says.

A cluster of moas drops from another Raptor.

The gun slightly unfolds in hands. In power armor, it weights as a rather heavy assault rifle. It's boxish shape is actually slightly thinner but also slightly longer than that of opticor. Overall, it appears to have a barrel integrated into the casing which also acts as the cooling system. The under barrel end appears to be a hammer-like emitter of sorts. The iron sights are rather simple, yet, it appears that the rifle's targeting systems are integrated into the helmet visors. There is also a box-like ammo magazine and portable tactical handle that allows to perform fire one the move and from the hip.

"MK IV Dawon. No bling, no excesses, no bul****t. Just a full-auto mode, two-hundred-rounded default magazine with the possibility to make it belt-feed. At least twice as lethal as those gorgons. Has two regimes - the assault one, featuring folded barrel for mid ranges and activated kinetic bayonet to beat the $hit out various scum in melee, and the fire support mode, featuring extended barrel for long range contacts, bipod, and AMP'ed radiators. Ever dreamt of feeding b!tches with lead all day long? This tube brings your dream closer to reality. Without armor, however, it can only be used as a mounted HMG. Speaking of armor, once you finish cuddling the new toy, spell the codeword "Bratwurst" into the helmet comms"

At some point, the sounds echoing from the ceiling holes cease. Something that made them is still out there, probably waiting for the right moment.

The room runs low on shooting "nodes"  as well as the lesser tendrils. The ones that remain act particularly aggressive, more trying to surround and coil than to lash.

Sig squashed a couple of lesser tendrils while striding to Alan's position. He punched the heavy iron bench with some acceleration, making its floor fixators crack loudly before liberating the object. He lifted the industrial piece of interior so Alan could take a grip on it and then opened the suppressing fire from LMG, forcing the overgrown and partially cut tentacle that was blocking the way to the barrels stash recoil back into the hole it was overhanging from or at least to flail around less actively.

It seems to sense your reluctance to proceed and turns around, climbing back up the slope.

Several other Kirin are gathered there as if to watch over them.

Something rustles in the bushes and the Kirin turn to look.

Four red and black warframes pass by, Wraiths from the look of their insignia. The Kirin snort and stomp and some lower their heads as if to charge. They seem to be as agitated by the Wraith's presence as they are calmed by yours.

The throaty shots thunder. The rate of fire seems to be lower than one would expect from a full auto weapon - about eight rounds per a second. However, the reason behind it unveils as the high recoil and damage factor enter the play. Some of the proxies just pop up on dismantled parts and gears, others being shred. It appears that the gun is designed around strong punch force and high lethality, which results in punch through shots. As for the recoil... this piece surely can't be used without power armor or stationary mounting

The loud mechanical wail sounds again as the leaking overgrown root hides back in the hole it came from.

While the machinery menace was showing its displeasure of the "guests" manners, the oldies rammed the locker gate with the "workbench ram" again, collapsing the pesky barrier and making the barrels reachable.

By the end of the grinding sound, however, three old, damaged, and battered golden maws dropped down from their hideouts.

One of them instantly tossed itself at Dix, the other one dodged to separate Phil from the rest of the group, and the last one decided to move closer by the wall, avoiding direct engagement and maneuvering while two of its "siblings" were drawing attention.

Some sort of gas began to fall down in clouds from the holes in the ceiling

The Kubrow charges the third maw, slamming into it like a three hundred pound freight train. The Kavat clamors onto it and begins tearing at any loose plates or components.

Dixon vaults over the Maw, slapping it on the head as he does.

"Too slow." He says. "Missed me."

Phlip strafes around the Maw to stay near Alan and Teloch.
