Huge lag spikes

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but, I am unable to play the game because of lag spikes. I've been playing with no problems before but randomly one day when I decided to play, every few seconds I would just get huge framerate drops that make me unable to play.

It is something like that but a lot worse. It happens right when I log into the game and it happens every 2-5 seconds. It's also very bumpy, it doesn't just freeze for a second. It kinda goes into very slow motion.

Same here, I think. Played the game for a week at a fairly solid 60fps (with rare bumps when things got busy) and then suddenly, it chugs and surges or goes into a slow-mo lag mode. Every time. No settings were changed, latest drivers (but tested old ones just in case,) I defrag regularly, tried optimizing the cache, deleted and reinstalled, checked for malware, tested hardware, etc. etc.

The problem seems to stem from the game loading things in, but nothing changes no matter what settings I use, which makes sense, because the game ran almost flawlessly for over a week on my crappy little OEM GTX 645.

I did some experimenting and the problem goes away almost perfectly when I record. I have no idea why.

I think you mean FPS stuttering instead of lag (internet).

I do have serious FPS issue since Specter of the rail.
